Dynasty Warriors 2 Cheats and Tips

This feature becomes available when you hold Triangle and press R1, L1, L2, R2, R1, L1, L2, R2 at the 'Title' screen. If the code has been entered correctly you will hear a confirmation sound.

Unlock Huang Zhong, Ma Chao, and Jiang Wei

Complete Musou mode with any member of the Shu Kingdom.

Unlock Xiahou Yuan and Zhang Liao:

Complete Musou mode with any member of the Wei Kingdom.

Unlock Taishi Ci, Lu Meng, and Gan Ning:

Complete Musou mode with any member of the Wu Kingdom.

Unlock Diao Chan, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Chao, and Zhang Jiao in Free Mode:

Complete Musou mode with at least one member of each kingdom.

Enter the following codes at the 'Title' screen to unlock the corresspondinding effect. If you have entered the code correctly you will hear a confirmation sound.

Unlock ALL Characters:

Press Square, R1, Square, R2, Square, R2, Square, R1 to unlock ALL 19 hidden generals.

Unlock ALL Shu Generals:

Press Square(2), R1(2), Square(2), R2(2) to unlock Ma Chao, Zhuge Liang, Jiang Wei, Liu Bei and Huang Zhong.

Unlock ALL Wu Generals:

Press Square(2), R2(2), R1(2), Square(2) to unlock Sun Quan, Taishi Ci, Sun Jian, Lu Meng and Gan Ning.

Unlock ALL Wei Generals:

Press Square(4), R2(2), R1(2) to unlock Xiahou Yuan, Cao Cao, Zhang Liao and Sima Yi.

When you're getting low in health pause the game and select the the 'Save' option and then resume the game without saving and your health will be replenished.

In case you are wondering about the hit combos you need to make an +attack and +defence here it is:

1-7 hit combo:+1 attack and +defence

8-15 hit combo:+2 attack and defence

16-23 hit combo:+4 attack and defence

24... hit combo:+8 attack and defence

The highest hit combo I have ever done was a 30 hit combo.

If you don't know how to make it a high hit combo....use your bow and arrow and use your musuo arrows but this will only work with a full musuo bar.

If you have your life gauge as long as it gets,it is easier to get +24 hit combo.

When you go into a big battle, like when your on your own against 30 or so other warriors, go straight through them only pressing square, when most of the guyz are down, pick out an idividual one and kill it, dont worry to much about other people hiting you

Archers:

What i do i plow through everyone and attack the archers in close combat,

then come back and help your body guards finish off the hand-to-hand attackers,

Bodyguards:

Bodyguards may seem like useless fan clubs when your in the earlier stages, but when you have about 6-12 which are stronger than yourself, they are almost necessery

At the title screen press square,R1,square,R2,square,R2,square,R1.

Now you have all characters.

At the main menu, enter square, R1, square, R2, square, R2, square, R1.

Defeat 1,000 enemies at Hu Lao Gate, including Lu Bu...

All Shu Generals:

At the title screen, press Square, R1(5), R2(2) to unlock all Shu Generals.

Edit Mode:

At the title screen, press L1, L2, R2, R1, L1, L2, R2, R1 to unlock edit mode.

When doing a jump attack, hit box on the way down from your jump or you will completely miss your opponent unless he's on a horse.

Get a horse from anywhere, or anyone you can, then go to the nearest enemy Gate Captain. Look into one of the corners on either side of the gate captain and his troops, and press and hold L1 so that you are blocking on the horse. When the gate captain jumps and tries to knock you off, he should get stuck between the horse and the wall. When hes stuck, run forward into the wall so he gets knocked up in the air, when hes knocked up in the air keep tapping the square button to tag up your combos. After you have reached 30 combos (to be safe) stop comboing the gate captain and he should drop a defense +8.

The easiest way to defeat him in this game is to cut his army off from the main army...

To do this defeat all generals around him, by this time Lei Bei, Sun Jian, and Cao Cao armies should be attacking Lu Bu, use their generals to help take his health down. Then move in for the kill with your musou...

Play with all characters in their musou mode to unlock corresponding Leader...

If you entered the code correctly you will hear cheering. Opening Edit will appear in the options menu. This option will allow you to edit the Opening Sequence by changing the characters.
