I'm stuck. I'm on the level egg viper and I just can't beat him. If any..

When he puts his tail in front of you, you need to use your homing attack on the things on his tail and follow up to hit Eggman. When he starts throwing those spikey disc things at you, jump onto them, and when they fly back to him, hit him with a homing attack.

I am Dr. Eggman!! Only I know how to defeat myself...wait, that came out funny...anyway.

Here's what I do when I want to dish it out hard to the good Doctor and his Egg Viper. First of all, it is essential that you have the crystal ring, well, maybe not a vital thing, but it is very helpful because it reduces the amount of time it takes to charge up Sonic's "Light-Speed attack", which is a special move obtainable only throught the "Ancient Light" power-up. Okay, Eggman & his Egg Viper follows a series of patterns, which changes as Eggman continues to take on damage. In the first pattern, Eggman will shoot lazers at you from the side of his Egg Viper as he manuevres himself on the side of the platforms you are on. Then he will either repeat this, or he will come up to you, in single-homing attack range, taunting you to attack him. "Buhaha, see if you can make it through here, Sonic!" On Eggman's first assault on you he will come in close range of your homing attack. Take this free shot and show Egg-head that your not to be reckoned with. Now Eggman is angry cause you hit him it the face!! Now he changes his attacks. On his next assault, Eggman will attack you twice or more using his Lazers cannons on the side of his Viper. The direction he shoots you is dependent on the direction you are in.

After the Lazers, Eggman will take out his Egg Viper's main Cannon, which shoots some kind of concentrated Lazer beam that then expands in a wide blast radius upon contact with you or the platform you were standing on before you high-tailed it outta there...Either way, get outta there, and remember to keep at least on ring on hand before continuing you attack on the Egg Viper. He will only do this once per each assualt. Now he comes up to you on the side of the platform and moves out of reach from you, and at the same time he extends the tail of his viper, taunting you all the while, daring you to try to attack him. His tail serves two purposes. One purpose is for you; by using the green lights as sort of stepping stones with your homing attack you can hit him and switch platform sides. The second purpose is for Eggman's attack. The tail is actually part of the charging process of Eggmans next type of attack. YOU DON'T WANT HIM TO USE THAT ATTACK, TAKE HIM DOWN BEFORE HE GETS THE CHANCE. He fires a GIGANTIC energy ball at you at full power, not only knocking your rings away, but knocking you off your feet and potentually sweeping you off the platform unless you do some fancy foot work. If you chose to use the green lights as stepping stones and have attacked Eggman already, then you should now be on the row of platforms on the other side of the bottomless room you might not have noticed due to the heavy fire you were under by the Egg Viper. Eggman will repeat the same pattern again now, twice more. On the third time, he attacks you with his side cannons three times in a row or so, then he fires the main cannon with that wide blast radius at you twice. After you deal him some more damage, he decides to drive over the platfroms you are on in an attempt to fry you with his main face cannon. He actually comes onto the platforms and rapidly fires at you with the main cannon as he drives over the platforms. I found it best to run past and under him where his main cannon can't hurt you. He then moves to the side again, firing his side Lazer cannons. Now instead of using the Main cannon again from the side, he again, taunts you once more with the Giant Energy ball, he goes into the center of the room, extends his tail and says "see if you can make it through here, Sonic!"

Take up his dare and use the green lights as stepping stones once more with the Homing attack, then hit him where it hurts (actually, I mean his face, as sonic is accustomed to gettin all up in Eggman's face). After that, Eggman loses his temper and decides to "cut" you down to size by cutting a row of platforms off of the field of play, I.e. He blows it up and leaves you with only the 8 floating platforms that are forming the only strip of land for you to run your butt off on. Now that he has eliminated any distractions, he decides it's time to deal with you up close. He starts to eliminate platforms, starting on either of the single platforms on either side of the field, after which, he alternates to the platform opposite the original one he destroyed. To put it simply, he takes out the platforms on each side, one at a time. Now...this is where the crystal ring Power up comes in handy. Whenever he comes up from either side of the platforms he destroys, Eggman attacks you with his hovering "Spiky-spinning-tops-of-doom!" Charge your Light attack, which should take half the time to charge if you have the crystal ring, and then jump onto the spinning top. Then wait for the top to return to Eggmans side again while you are standing on it. Jump up in the air and release the X or B button, whichever one you were holding down, to attack the Egg Viper without fail. It's a smart move to use the light attack because it is much safer and it will always hit if you are next to Eggman, and you will always land on the ground instead of flying off in some other direction.

Repeat this once or twice more, I can't remember how many more times he repeats the pattern, while also taking care to remember which side of the field Egg-head and his Viper-mabob is on. Once you deal the final blow Eggman is defeated......or is he!? No he's got an ace up his sleeve. This time Eggman is trying to take you down with him!!! I think the Evil Genius has finally snapped....oh wait. That was a long time ago. Sorry..anyway, use the d-pad to keep and eye on Eggman for a moment or so, but just long enough to get an idea of where he is planning to move. He want's to crash his ship into the platform you are on, and take you out with him. Be careful as this desperation attack is quite powerful; it takes out two platforms at once. So remember to get a good feel for where he plans to attack. But don't get dependent on the d-pad. It lets you take a 360 degree look at your surroundings, kinda like the C-stick with GameCube, but it takes a moment to get your bearings when returning to the original camera angle and it can almost throw you off if you take to long, sometimes causing you to "accidentally" move right into Eggman's attack.

Still, it's not too hard to avoid. This is just what goes on in my head whenever I am taking Egg-head's Viper-majiger down. Robotnik will hopefully miss you by a platform and will crash into the ground, exploding on impact and giving poor Eggman a Texas-sized booboo on his rear! Hahaha! Hope I helped.
