Save your Gems for Better Weapons

Gems are the premium currency in Downhill Smash and as such you should avoid spending them on trivial stuff. Resist the temptation to spend Gems on things like a revive when you can use them on getting better weapons which is far more beneficial as the weapons that cost gems to buy are more powerful than those that require Gold to purchase.

Watch Advertisements

Take the time to watch the short advertisement videos when they become available that offer you cool stuff in return. Doing this may enable you to gain an extra life for free, gain a boost for your current run, or even double your gold reward. In any case watching a series of advertisements will enable you to get a varying amount of Gold and Gems for your time which you will be able to put to good use.
