Shop Hours

Pay attention to shop hours as they have different opening times from the usual Story of Seasons games. You will also find that shops will not open on festival days so make sure you regulalry check your calender so you know when these days are coming up. Check out our Store Opening Times Guide to find out the specific days and times each store is open.

Gigantic Backpack and Bug Net

Aside from ensuring you have enough money for seeds your first priority should be saving up enough money to buy the Gigantic Backpack and the Bug Net from the general store. The backpack upgrade will allow you to store more items and the net will enable you catch bugs which you can then sell. Check out our Bug Catching Guide to see a list of all the bugs you can catch, it also includes where to catch them and the season.

Restore Stamina

Until you upgrade your home and buy cookware Norbita will only have foraged foods to eat to restore his stamina. He can however take a nap anywhere outside for at least one hour at a time to restore 10 stamina. After midnight Norbita will not be able to nap and if stays awake until 6:00am he will pass out and find himself at the doctors clinic until noon.

Early Game Money

The easiest way to earn money in the early game of Doraemon Story of Seasons is by foraging. The fruit from trees in particular is worth a lot and grows back every few days. Eating foraged items such as bamboo shoots annd mushrooms can also help you recover a small amount of stamina. You can also earn money by fishing and bug catching, both of these activities will allow you to earn income without taking up valuable energy. Check out our Crop Guide to find out everything you need to know about harvesting crops.

Get the Pickaxe

Once you have upgraded your backpack and have the bug net make your way to the mines that are next to the waterfall so you can unlock them and get Norbita a pickaxe. Inside the mines you will be able to use the pickaxe to dig up ores, fossils, and junk. Ores are used to upgrade your tools at the carpenters, fossils can be used at the carpenters to build furniture, and junk pieces can be used to make phonographs.

Build a Stable

To begin with in Doraemo: Story of Seasons you will not be able to build the Silos as they require gold pieces. For the time being you may want to consider building a stable, to get the required materials you can cut down the trees you find out in the forest. Once completed you will be given a horse by Ram when you next go to West Natura. The horse is useful as it saves plenty of time when you need to make your way around Shizen Town. The only care a horse needs is being brushed and talked to.

Cutting Trees

Do not worry if you cannot finish cutting down a tree in a day. You can go to sleep and your progrss towards cutting the tree will be saved and you can resume cutting it the next day without having to start over.

Pick Up Weeds

Do not waste your energy using the sickle on weeds when you can just pick them up. The weeds you pick up can either be sold or used as materials for decorations in the Carpenter Shop

Check the Weather

Keep an eye on the weather by checking the noticeboard every couple of days so you can plan beforehand as to what to do if rain is forecast. You need to make sure your animals are in the barn when it rains. Check out our How to Get Anywhere Door Teleport guide to find out how you can get to different locations almost instantly.

Friendship Levels

In Doraemon Story of Seasons it is important to be friendly with each villager, this can be easily done by talking to them whenever you pass them by. The reason for this is that many things you can unlock in the game require you to have a certain friendship level with the villagers. This is particularly true regarding the mayor ho has taken a few of Doramon's gadgets. If you are struggling to find a particular villager you just need to go to the 'Menu' and open the map. Check out our Gifting Guide to find out how you can get as many hearts as possible.

Buying Recipes

The recipes at the restaurant change with the season, so it is advised that you start buying them as early as possible or you will have to wait a while for them to come back. Check out our Cooking and Recipe Guide to find out everything you need to know about preparing food.
