A New Home

You'll see someone looking out the window when you arrive at the house. This is Alice, the little girl Kara will be charged of protecting for the rest of the game. For now though, you must rebuild the bond Kara shared with her before the android was reset. In any case, the chores around the house come first.

Clean First Floor

Get out of the car and follow Todd into the house. He'll tell you what needs to be done as well as introduce you to Alice. Pick up the trash can in the kitchen and start collecting all the stuff on the counter to your right, the pizza boxes in the kitchen, and on Todd's table in the living room. Take the trash out then return to the house.

Grab the plate from the dining table and take it to the kitchen. Check the Broken dish washer as well to order parts for it. Wash the dishes then bring Todd some beer from the fridge when he tells you to. Next, stare at the TV with L1 then stand in front of the TV to block Todd's view. You will be yelled at both times which adds entries to the flowchart.

Pick up the books in the corner then turn on the vacuum cleaner. Return to the dining room to read the magazine on the table, before going to the backyard to collect some old laundry. Talk to Alice here and choose GAME then BACKYARD during the conversation. Doing so increases Alice's trust in you from Distant to Warm.

Take the laundry back inside to throw into the washing machine. Grab some detergent from the shelf where Kara finds a sachet of red ice. This will **** Todd off big time so you better tell him you're done with the first floor and go upstairs. You'll find Alice sitting by the window in the dining area so talk to her about the toy.

Clean Second Floor

Here, make sure to head down the hall and go left to the bathroom where you must rearrange the bottles, pick up the towels and mop the floor. Next enter Alice's room to make the bed and open the window. Kara will mark this as a possible escape route for later on in the game. You can also check the wooden box on the dresser, but it cannot be opened without a key.

Go to Todd's room next and pick up all the mess. There is a magazine on top of the shelf with the speakers as well. Be sure to read all the pages in it. Also grab the bottle of pills from the bedside table and open the drawer to find a handgun. Here's another discovery that has cross-chapter impact. Finally, open the window then make the bed last. You'll see Alice go to her room.

Todd will also emerge from the toilet so go in there to clean before going after Alice. Look at the floor to see what book she's been reading and Kara comments on it. This should give another boost to Alice's trust. Go talk to the poor girl (this can only be done if you cleaned her room before Todd's) again. Select FRIENDLY, NAME KARA and INTERESTS during the conversation to continue improving their bond.

Alice should now trust you enough to hand over the key to her secret box. Open it to look through the drawings inside before going back downstairs. You'll witness one of Todd's many bouts of nastiness and the chapter ends.
