Citizen Passenger Beginner Tips and Tricks

Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in Citizen Passenger.

Start Exploring Early

It is crucial early in the game that you make opening the closed gate that leads to the second major area in the game your priority. This gate requires an expensive toll to open, and you should pay it as soon as possible as having access to it will open up the game's world by not only providing tasks, ways to regain resources, and daily activities to perform, but also introduce you to new NPCs and factions. By expanding the world you will be able to advance certain questlines more quickly which will help your overall progression considerably.

Unlock Each Location Fully

When you first arrive at a location many of the nodes will be marked with a compass symbol. If you click on them you will be able to see a set of tasks that you can perform in that area which are designed to give you more awareness of the zone as you explore it. Keep in mind that although it is not necessary to fully complete each of the tasks to gain access to surrounding facilities, it is recommended that you do so as the area won't become fully unlocked until these tasks are complete. By fully completing the tasks you will unlock new ways in which to earn income, provide new sources of energy, and unlock new sections of The Eye for you to explore that will lead to new NPC interactions that will be beneficial.

Play to Your Character's Strengths

Make sure you pay attention to your character's strengths and weaknesses and find tasks that take advantage of their main skills, so you are able to earn the income that will lead to the NPC interactions that enable you to access new sources of energy and unlock new sections of The Eye for you to explore.

Pay Attention to Clocks

Clocks in Citizen Sleeper will track your progress at the various nodes around The Eye and warn you of any upcoming events. They also tell you how long you need to wait before progressing certain questlines. It is therefore essential that you keep an eye on them so you are aware of the consequence or reward you will receive when they stop spinning. It is recommended that at the start or the end of each cycle you do a sweep of The Eye, so you know where each active clock is and how many cycles need to run before it completes. Doing this will also enable you to plan your daily activities.

Find a Source of Income

Food and stabilizer, the two sources of energy your character's life as a Sleeper is dependent on cost money. This means your first priority is to establish a source of income to be able to purchase them. The jobs on offer around The Eye will offer varying degrees of income which will be determined by the difficulty of the task. When looking for work it is important that you find out what skill the job will be utilizing as some jobs offer paths towards promotions that will give you more money each time you repeat the task. Take a look at our How to get Food guide to find out how you can get sustenance for your character in Citizen Sleeper.

Get Resources from the Merchant Vessels

There are two separate merchant vessesl that periodically stop on The Eye that offer scrap and valuable items. Make sure whenever they are at The Eye and you have cash available, you take advantage of them as you will be able to get items from them that will be useful in multiple questlines. Neglecting to use the merchant vessels to get the resources you need could result in you being forced to wait for several cycles for them to return to progress in a quest.

Maintain Civil and Amicable Relationships

You will be faced with many difficult decisions in Citizen Sleeper and not all of them will make everyone happy. One thing you must try and do, particularly during the early game is keep your relationships with as many of the NPCs as civil and amicable as possible. The reason for this is that many of these characters offer tasks for you in their locations and cutting yourself off from them will affect your income. Besides, you never know when you may need help from a certain character later in the game that has the expertise you require.

Focus on One or Two Specialized Skills

Resist the temptation to spread your points into lots of different skills, it is far more beneficial to focus on one or two specialized skills. Investing your points into one or two skills will enable you to gain access to useful second-tier perks that will help your progression considerably, such as the ability to reroll your dice once per day or get a 20% discount in the game's shops.
