You need to summon characters in Blue Archive through their summoning banners using the gacha currency called 'Pyroxenes'. The rarity of the Students and the rates in which you can summon them are the same regardless of which gacha banner you use. The rates for different rarities of Students are as follows:
- 3-Star Students
2.5% for all Students
- 2-Star Students
18.5% for all Students
- 1-Star Students
79% for all Students
It is recommended that when you pull at the gacha you do a 10 pull or summons as doing so will guarantee that you obtain at least 1 2-Star sudent in the summons. A pity exists in Blue Archive at 200 summons on every banner. Some Students might be available at a higher rate than other students in a Rate-Up summoning banner.
The first PvE mode that you unlock in Blue Archive are Commissions. This will happen after you have cleared mission stage 1-4 of the main story. Commissions are areas used to farm Credit Points and EXP materials for making your students stronger at the beginning of the game. Each of these farming areas has different stages, and the quality of the resources you obtain gradually increases with the level of the stage you clear. The early stages don't offer much value, and drops. It is recommended that you start from the D stage onwards if you want to grind Commissions.
Once you have cleared mission 2-1 in Blue Archive, you will unlock the cafe. The cafe is a facility where your students can kick back and relax. It is also a place where you will be able to passively generate credits and AP, the amount you get will depend on the comfort level of the cafe. Students can randomly visit the cafe and to increase its comfort level you need to add furniture. Ranking up the cafe will increase the number of students that can visit at once, the maximum comfort, and the production and storage cap of credits and AP. It is important to remember that the cafe can only hold so many resources, which means you need to claim them before they overflow.
The recommended areas to obtain equipment pieces in Blue Archive are in Area 4 and Area 5 stages as Tier 2 pieces starts to become available. Tier 3 equipment strarts from Area 7 stages, while Tier 4 items are best obtained from Area 10 stages.
