How to use Bullet

Unlike companions in most other video games Bullet does not have a health bar and he cannot die. This loyal dog is able to take care of himself so whenever you are both faced with danger you need only worry about yourself. Bullet will warn you by using his heightened senses when danger is nearby or something is not quite right. This will either be by hearing him bark or by observing his body language which will change to a particular stance.

Bullet is basically another tool in your toolbelt that you can freely use without fear of losing. There are five commands available to you which you can use accordingly throughout the game. These are:

• Seek

• Reprimand

• Pet (Praise)

• Close

• Stay Close

Before you can use any of these commands you must first summon Bullet to your position. If you are using a console controller this is done by pressing the LB button or the 'C' key if you are using a mouse and keyboard. Once you have Bullet's attention and he is in front of you you simply have to hold the LB botton or 'c' key to bring up a circular menu with the variou options you can choose from. The most useful command is 'Search' as it tells Bullet to search for items that you wouldn't be able to find on your own. It can also be used for tracking. If you find an item related to the missing boy, you can order Bullet to track.

Bullet is very important as he is a kind of an anchor between you and the surrounding reality. If you let him out of your sight, you will begin to lose connection with reality. This effect will disappear only when the dog appears again by your side. During the game you will find treats around the forest which you can give to Bullet as a reward for being a good dog. These can be accessed from your inventory when you have found them. The choices you make and how you praise and reprimand Bullet will be constantly evaluated and will go towards determing the ending you get in the game.
