Retro Royale

It's back to basics this week as SuperCell start the special tournament, Retro Royale.

So, basically you juts get to pick from all the original cards, no legendaries etc... This is quite testing for those of us newer to the game, or that now rely on the newer cards only in their deck.

One really good combo I have played against and started to use myself involves a deck much like this:

Arrows

Baby Dragon

Canon

Knight

Goblin Barrel

Rage

Skeletons

Average Elixir 3.0

It's a really neat deck for this tournament, you may like to swap out the knight for the valkyrie or musketeer maybe.

The idea is that you make a balloon attack with rage and throw a goblin barrel at the same sort of time. You have the arrows to counter minions. In this deck skeletons are pretty cool as a quick cycle option or to defend against tough threats such as prince, hog rider or knight.

The deck maybe a bit weak against air attacks, so consider swapping out that knight for the musketeer. Mostly all the decks I've played against seem to have arrows, so minions are not too great. The canon however does a fantastic job of kiting any balloons, hogs etc... away from your towers.

Another great alternative if the hut spam deck, this one is also pretty effective if you can hold out until the last minute of the game, you get a good chance to build up a massive attack.

The idea is that you slowly place your huts behind a chosen side and develop until you literally have an unstoppable force in the final minute. You can switch sides with a heap of troops behind your giant in the final minute for a good sneaky win. Probably best to defend only until the final minute.
