This is a time travelling epic released by SquareSoft. It follows the tale of a young lay-about name Chrono who jumps into an accidentally created temporal rift in order to save a pretty young girl who gets sucked in by accident and bring her back to keep the timeline from changing forever.

Chrono Trigger remains a must-play for all serious gamers due to its design aspects that were ground-breaking in its time. The members of your party fight three at a time and rather than enemies just popping up at you as you advance through dungeons and forests, the game features a birds-eye view of the terrain so you can see the enemies coming and choose to avoid them or take them head-on.

The game gives the player a lot of responsibility in what choices to make and how the story unfolds. This works well with the time-travel aspect and every decision made has a consequence. Therefore it gives the option of multiple endings which force the player take care when making decisions and gives it great replay value.

The grace and care that developers put into makes it worth playing even today and although younger gamers may have never heard of Chrono Trigger, dedicated gamers of the 90s are still raving about it today and have played it through dozens of times. The more recent ports haven't changed at all through the years and the DS version is touted as being he best one so far.
