This game follows a young brown-haired boy named Oliver in Motorville USA, an American city that is designed around the stereotypical Japanese view of American cities, as he sets out to become a powerful wizard.

He starts out as just another young lad completing his day-to-day chores then things go pear-shaped and Oliver is burdened with the knowledge that he is in fact The Chosen One and the fate of two worlds rests in his young hands. We all have to start somewhere, right?

Ni no Kinu follows the typical RPG structure that makes the genre so popular however what sets it apart is the attention that its developers gave to detail. The environments are designed in classic anime style and are rich and full of texture. This world feels like it may have originally been designed to be a film and that makes the experience greater as the players are able to lose themselves in the world.

The only drawback is the actual gameplay. You can tell that the developer wanted this to be a storytelling experience so the gameplay gets in the way of that. The AI has got some bugs and there's an unnecessarily large number of menus to get through to perform the most basic of tasks but it you can look that over then you're in for a treat.
