The new features in Update 1.1 for The Division

Ubisoft have announced a raft of new features for the upcoming updated to the Division. Planned for release on the 12th April this update will primarily open up the new incursion for players as well as introduce some sought after improvements and changes to the game.

Falcon Lost

This is the name of the new incursion mission, a Raid style activity that is designed for a well equipped team of 4. You will need to have completed the main game to level 30 to access it.

New high end named weapons

Warlord: Assault Rifle

Valkyria: Submachine gun

(Historian: Marksman Rifle) Please note that while the Historian will be implemented in the game with this update, it will not be acquirable in-game until update 1.2

Trading

So we will now be able to drop unwanted items from our inventory for others to pick up. Sounds great but there is a restriction, you will only be able to drop them within 2 hours of getting them and only players who were in your group when the item dropped will be able to pick it up from you. So great for you and your buddies on a mission, but not good for sharing out later to anyone who missed the session.

Gear Sets

These are new collections of wearable gear that offer additional bonuses when worn together but ned to be collected by completing challenge missions. Hopefully the bonuses will be worth the grind.

“Tactician's Authority” – enhances electronics and support capabilities

“Striker's Battlegear” – provide bonuses for assault capabilities

“Sentry's Call” – enhances marksman capabilities

“Path of the Nomad” – provides bonuses for lone wanderers

Dark Zone Supply Drops

Almost certainly a further incentive added to the dark zone to encourage rogue actions the supply drops will be crates dropped into the dark zone with uncontaminated gear to be claimed. Multiple drops a day. If you can grab this gear it won't need extracting so getting in quick will be the key, and avoiding death in the process of course.

Gear Scoring - judge your teammates.

You will be assigned a score based on the strength of all of your armoured gear items. Each item will have an individual score that you can see and other players will see your overall score. This won't be a complete reflection of the players abilities and hopefully it wont lead to elitism in selecting group members. But it will apparently need to reach specific levels to access some high end challenges. (existing one or future ones is not specified). It will form the basis of a new bracket in the Dark Zone for the seriously well equipped.

Assignments

Daily and weekly assignments will be introduced with unspecified rewards. Most probably credits or gear items. These are going to be either combat related assignments, dark zone specific or even crafting goals. They do specify that 'most' of the assignments can be completed alone.

Dead room spectating

When you die now in a group you will be able to spectate your teammates while waiting for a revive. No doubt to help you offer useful advice and encouragement.

----

There are some great sounding additions to the game here with a mix of new activities and not only large group activities. Hopefully it will bring more rewards for the grind and more fun for everyone. What do you think?
