To do this useful glitch, you must have the item you want to use (it has to be something that can't be used in that area) on the "A" or "B" buttons. Then, switch them around and quickly mash the button in which you placed your item of interest. It should work after a few tries.

For example, I equipped Farore's Wind on the "B" button, and a bottle on the "A" button. I switched them around and quickly mashed the "A" button (the on Farore's Wind is on) and marked the spot to teleport to later.... And I was in Kakariko Village!

NOTE: I do not know if this glitch works on the N64 because I have only done it on the 3DS.
