IV's & Natures

IV's & Natures

If a Pokemon with an Adamant (raises Attack, but lowers Sp. Attack) nature has max Sp. Attack IV, would that negate the decrease in Sp. Attack that the nature would give, or will it still be lower regardless of the nature? Can it even have max IV in a stat that that Pokemon has a hindering nature in?

Michael answered:

If your Pokemon has a stat that has a hindering nature, it can't have a maximum stat for that stat. Even if your Pokemon has maximum IV in that stat, it can't get to the maximum stat that it could have if it had a beneficial nature.

Hope this helps!
