How do you defeat the troll in The Mines of Moria? We've been at it for a while and can't figure it out!

ANSWERS

 
First get the troll to hit the boxes with his chain for it to get stuck then use legalos to jump on to it and fire a arrow at him do this a few times. Then use the hobbits to jump on the troll back and use the x button to hit the troll till his head comes up and then use legalos to fire a arrow at him do this a few time to kill him

I think there might be a bug. Are you on the DS version. Apparently there should be circle to stand in to make you jump on the trolls back but it never comes up for me. I have a DS version of the game that I'm playing on a 3ds. I've had a horrible time with this game it's full of bugs :(

there isn't a bug if its the DS version .. the Ds version is different .....
to beat the troll on the DS after you get legolas to jump on the troll and shoot him in the head. you need to then take Gimli and break the tree looking stone and crawl through the little tunnel and break the tree stone on the other side. They will then give you bricks to build another pillar. The troll will rap his chain around the pillar and you need to take Gimli and hit the pillar with the special hit .. presto done!
