How do McMillan and I survive?

How do McMillan and I survive?

I'm on the mission "One shot, One kill". I'm on checkpoint "Helicopter Incoming". I've exhausted every attempt to stay alive. Does anyone have any idea on what I could do?

I've hidden in the Ferris Wheel, The Bumper Cars, The Kisoks, Behind Cars, Behind McMillan, and even behind the entrance where the enemies come out(Thinking that they wouldn't see me because they are facing a full 180 degrees away from me, but they did see me somehow). Nothing has worked. I've used my Claymores tactically and non-tactically. Those dogs are a pain. McMillan can't shoot. And I can't out-flank my enemies. One more thing. I'm on Veteran difficulty. But that doesn't matter because I'm an ace at sniping.

Does anyone have any idea on what I could do? I've read both walkthroughs. Did what they said. It doesn't work. This checkpoint is an absolute pain.

I can't remember exactly how I did it but I remember I stood mainly to left of the ferris wheel and right of McMillan. I planted claymores around me and mcmillan and also to the right of the ferris wheel. I think I also changed my pistol to an ak or something similar

i've finish it in veteran mode, all you need to do is to hide where they cant see until the helicopter come theres a place where you can hide,, hint: near at the stage where you saw those dogs make sure that you have some flash bang so that you can easily rescue your partner.

I use the machine gun off one of the enemy trumps right in front of Ferris wheel short burst shot u don't have to reload as often a real equalizer

What's an enemy trump?

The both times I have tried it (not on veteran) I have stayed next to McMilan. Then place a few Claymores at entrances on the fence line. Then try and snipe as many as possible as they come out behind the building and before they get to the fence line. Also watch out on your right, 2 or 3 guys sneek around. I havn't had any problems with dogs but that may change as the difficulty changes.
The one thing that would help is repeating it in one position over and over until you pass it. This way you'll learn where your enemies will come from and what to expect.
Good luck, you'll get there

I beat that level by going prone next to the ferris wheel's lowest car. I planted claymores in a circle around the ferris wheel stand, and a few by the cars in the front. Snipe the enemys when they come. Keep a multiple firing gun, the best is an AK-47. Wait until the rest of the enemys get closer. You will have time to change guns because they have to hop a fence to get to you. The claymores behind you should stop the enemys from flanking you.

Shouse2978 answered:

Once you put McMilan down run full speed through the the picked fences where the bad guys will come from. If you keep running you notice to the left in between the 2 buildings an area, it's is a dead end but keep going and you will find like a little gang way between the biuldings to the right, just wait here, a couple of guys will come into this area no more than 2 now just wait till about 500 seconds left for the chopper tp arrive and run like forest gump, but go stariaght and don't turn right you should end up near the back part of the bumper cars, go to McMilan pick him up and get in the chopper.

Darktrooper166 answered:

Plonk down Mcmilan, stick some claymores around the wall and wall opening go about 10-15 m away from Mcmilan, gfo prone and start getting headhsots, also swap you pistol for an AK-47 because when they get close it's better to burst fire them that to try and snipe them.

james 7 answered:

I got stuck on this one too, so I finally just put claymores around the ferris wheel. I went back to mcmillan and layed down next to him than I shot until the enemy helicopters came than I just went behind mcmillan and layed there and let him snipe them and looked on the map in the start screen and would throw grenades and shoot the guys that flanked us and waited till the helicopter came. I know this is pretty cheap but I just got tired of dying and wanted to get through the game.

Kingvuk answered:

I was having difficulty on That same level. ON veteran the enemy has a very accurate arm. What I did is set McMillan down and then head along the back of the ferris wheel. There is a bumper carts area and behind that is a little alley way.
From there you should be able to watch the entrance and snipe guys through the white fence. Note(I also found out that if you grab McMillan you become pretty invincible)

Make sure you stay back a little ways. There is a Radiation area in the back so you will need to sit at the edge of that. When the helicopters land run to McMullan. It is easier if you stay close to the back wall because of an hill. Note(I also found out that if you grab McMillan you become pretty invincible)

Try go see this video:

I did it before I saw this movie, and I hid behind the three/threes about 10-20 m. To the right of McMillan. Lie down and crawl up behind the three. There's a glitch so you can see when the enemy come through the three. Have a sniper and a AK47. Snipe them all and the one coming down from the chopper, and then hide as long you can. Then throw a flash when they get to close and shoot them and hide again.
I did this twice, but hated that mission...
The video seems SOOOO much easier!

Fontiminal answered:

There is another way, drop the click detonation bombs around the area next to the bumper car sight, and a couple behind the ferris wheel, go now and lie down on the corner of the bumper car and do not move, nothing will happen, when the chopper lands, click the detonation stand up and run to McMillan, once you have him you've done it. Don't move when waiting.

racer96 answered:

You hide in the tiket booth next to the ferris wheel and hide in the corner under the shelf and wait for the chopper to come

SUPERMAN5 answered:

I suggest to use your prone mode effectively. Mcallian will serve as distraction. But make sure to put claymores around cars, the explosion of both ars and claymore will be bigger range. Then bascially shoot headshots as fast as you can. When it comes close and personal, use your knife effectively as well as a Ak-47 in place of handgun.

g33k answered:

Set down McMillan then go place claymores around the fence so it is harder for them to get out of there. Then just simply throw some c4 on cars (useful when they take cover behind the cars just blow them up) Then get behind the tree near McMillan and you should be able to take them out and go prone when they are coming get up and shoot them when they get near you. Also swap the pistol for an AK-47.

Hope I could help. (I haven't tried it on veteran difficulty though)

qwertyuio answered:

I found a good little ticket booth stand close to the feris wheel that if you go prone in correctly along with placing clamors anywhere an enemy might come before you go there, you should be fine. Bullets will miss often enough to not kill you, grenades on the other hand do get checked into their often, it is like a 7 foot big ticket booth, so you got to know if a grenade is inside or just the other side of the wall. You've got to be competent at throwing out grenades for this spot to work.

Guest answered:

Hi there, im new to call of duty and was struggling on this one really badly, tried all sorts and just kept dying. the closest i was getting to doing it was when i went behind the bumper cars but then i gave up and then right by the wheel, theres like this box (ticket sale?) i went in there went prone and tucked myself all the way back. waited there for the timer for the chopper to come to tick down to 0 and then waited about 30 seconds and ran for it... by the 30 seconds, the crew on your chopper takes alot of them out. while in the box, you will have alot of grenades thrown at you, but the box is like a tank and doesnt give u any damage. the odd couple of grenades may get in, but just throw them back out. None of the bad guys try and get in, its just grenades so i did that level without really having to make a kill Smile

This mission, completed on veteran by me, is one of the hardest in the game if you don't know how to survive. Just plant the multiple claymores along the fence line and a few by some cars, before going into the ticket booth by the ferris wheel. When they start coming, get some headshots with the sniper. When they start to get past the fenceline, just sta under the shelfs. The only thing which happens to you are grenades, but people never come in. When the chopper comes, pick up McMillan and drag him inside. Mission Complete.

Guest answered:

I was in the same position. Everywhere I tried I failed. Then I went around the building that's past the helicopter drop off points. Grabbed the "Saw" and just hid behind a tree and leveled enemy troops until the helicopter landed. Then I ran and jumped back to McMillan and grabbed him.

Hope this helps, I played it in veteran as well and it was a pain in the ass:
Plant the claymores around the entrances of the wheel
Pick up the dragunovs and as much ammo as you can find
Get on the wheel and snipe from it, when there's a lot of enemies coming don't reload, change to the other sniper riffle (dragunov) and keep firing, reload when necesary and if there's few guys coming (around 3-5) leave them to mcmillan and reload BOTH riffles, then keep firing

Don't use any granades as they'll make your claymores explode if you have bad luck.

Guest answered:

I just DID IT!
Stay at the corner of the bumper cars area, not inside it, behind it...and crouch...stay beside the metallic support of the shed...the corner is the one nearer to to the boundary wall. Throw grenades, fire on.

danieru answered:

All you need to do is to hide don't fight with them you wont survive if you do...hint :near where you saw those dogs, make sure you have a flash bang

Guest answered:

It says next to the button you press when you go on veteran that you will not survive. I find that doing and going wherever and whatever McMillan does works. I have done this before in all ghillied up & gotten the award for not being seen by any enemies. Do EXACTALLY what McMillan tells you and you should be ok. Call of duty is pretty much my life and I'm am only 12. And ppl r shocked that I love it because I'm a girl :(
Good luck

Guest answered:

I found sort of a glitch and what you do is you go to the ticket booth and go prone and sit there . You can also use ire clamors and C4 . I've done it since I found it and it's always worked for me . I hope it helped you get past the level .

Guest answered:

Well I did just the easy way just shooting the bad guys and wait for the choper to come but I might try to let mcMillen to shot the first wave to 4 wave then help him out but is did not work for you then just do the easy way Smile

Guest answered:

Yes indeed, this is one of the hardest gunfights in COD4, but I did find a camping spot that well... Is OP. I played on Veteran and I got it first try camping in that spot.

My loadout:
G3
RPD

So I lied on the Ferris Wheel platform until the helicopters started to come, and when the game saved, I ran ASAP to where the enemy spawned, like where they came out of from the first wave, and ran in there and I ran straight, there should be a long building to your right and run alongside it until you reach a place where you can turn right, but it leads to a dead end. Hide there and start sniping the enemies with your G3 (or whatever gun). When the helicopter arrives, run the way the enemies came from (should be directly in front of you, the second RIGHT entrance back to the main battleground. There you can see the enemies engaged in a gunfight when the dudes from the Big Bird and start mowing the enemies down with your RPD.... Grab the Mcmillan dude and get to the chopper... Done.

How do you pick him up?
Guest answered:

After the copters came. I just went and hid prone in the ticket booth between the ferries wheel and bumper cars. Not a single grenade or flash bang hit me in there, they all detonated outside the doorway and around the booth. Nor did a enemy enter the doorway. Saved my flash bangs and had the p90 topped off. Dropped the few guys in my way. Grabbed McMillan and zigzagged to the helicopter.

Guest answered:

I tried so much stuff and nothing worked until I ran to the ticket booth by the Ferris wheel

420hippie answered:

If you run behind the ferris wheel, you can go prone and crawl under it. Get far enough to the front to be able to snipe everyone, but stay far enough back that they can't shoot u. And place mines close enough to you that nobody sneaks up on ya, but not close enough to hurt or kill u. Be mindful of grenades. And make every shot count cause if you have to crawl out for more ammo, consider it over bud. Lol
