Question:
How do McMillan and I survive?
 Mercenarie 21 |
Date of Question: Dec 22 2007 | Question ID: 103618 I'm on the mission "One shot, One kill". I'm on checkpoint "Helicopter Incoming". I've exhausted every attempt to stay alive. Does anyone have any idea on what I could do?
I've hidden in the Ferris Wheel, The Bumper Cars, The Kisoks, Behind Cars, Behind McMillan, and even behind the entrance where the enemies come out(Thinking that they wouldn't see me because they are facing a full 180 degrees away from me, but they did see me somehow). Nothing has worked. I've used my Claymores tactically and non-tactically. Those dogs are a pain. McMillan can't shoot. And I can't out-flank my enemies. One more thing. I'm on Veteran difficulty. But that doesn't matter because I'm an ace at sniping.
Does anyone have any idea on what I could do? I've read both walkthroughs. Did what they said. It doesn't work. This checkpoint is an absolute pain.

The both times I have tried it (not on veteran) I have stayed next to McMilan. Then place a few Claymores at entrances on the fence line. Then try and snipe as many as possible as they come out behind the building and before they get to the fence line. Also watch out on your right, 2 or 3 guys sneek around. I havn't had any problems with dogs but that may change as the difficulty changes.
The one thing that would help is repeating it in one position over and over until you pass it. This way you'll learn where your enemies will come from and what to expect.
Good luck, you'll get there

I beat that level by going prone next to the ferris wheel's lowest car. I planted claymores in a circle around the ferris wheel stand, and a few by the cars in the front. Snipe the enemys when they come. Keep a multiple firing gun, the best is an AK-47. Wait until the rest of the enemys get closer. You will have time to change guns because they have to hop a fence to get to you. The claymores behind you should stop the enemys from flanking you.

Once you put McMilan down run full speed through the the picked fences where the bad guys will come from. If you keep running you notice to the left in between the 2 buildings an area, it's is a dead end but keep going and you will find like a little gang way between the biuldings to the right, just wait here, a couple of guys will come into this area no more than 2 now just wait till about 500 seconds left for the chopper tp arrive and run like forest gump, but go stariaght and don't turn right you should end up near the back part of the bumper cars, go to McMilan pick him up and get in the chopper.

Plonk down Mcmilan, stick some claymores around the wall and wall opening go about 10-15 m away from Mcmilan, gfo prone and start getting headhsots, also swap you pistol for an AK-47 because when they get close it's better to burst fire them that to try and snipe them.

I got stuck on this one too, so I finally just put claymores around the ferris wheel. I went back to mcmillan and layed down next to him than I shot until the enemy helicopters came than I just went behind mcmillan and layed there and let him snipe them and looked on the map in the start screen and would throw grenades and shoot the guys that flanked us and waited till the helicopter came. I know this is pretty cheap but I just got tired of dying and wanted to get through the game.

I was having difficulty on That same level. ON veteran the enemy has a very accurate arm. What I did is set McMillan down and then head along the back of the ferris wheel. There is a bumper carts area and behind that is a little alley way.
From there you should be able to watch the entrance and snipe guys through the white fence. Note(I also found out that if you grab McMillan you become pretty invincible)
Make sure you stay back a little ways. There is a Radiation area in the back so you will need to sit at the edge of that. When the helicopters land run to McMullan. It is easier if you stay close to the back wall because of an hill. Note(I also found out that if you grab McMillan you become pretty invincible)

Try go see this video:

I did it before I saw this movie, and I hid behind the three/threes about 10-20 m. To the right of McMillan. Lie down and crawl up behind the three. There's a glitch so you can see when the enemy come through the three. Have a sniper and a AK47. Snipe them all and the one coming down from the chopper, and then hide as long you can. Then throw a flash when they get to close and shoot them and hide again.
I did this twice, but hated that mission...
The video seems SOOOO much easier!

There is another way, drop the click detonation bombs around the area next to the bumper car sight, and a couple behind the ferris wheel, go now and lie down on the corner of the bumper car and do not move, nothing will happen, when the chopper lands, click the detonation stand up and run to McMillan, once you have him you've done it. Don't move when waiting.

I can't remember exactly how I did it but I remember I stood mainly to left of the ferris wheel and right of McMillan. I planted claymores around me and mcmillan and also to the right of the ferris wheel. I think I also changed my pistol to an ak or something similar

You hide in the tiket booth next to the ferris wheel and hide in the corner under the shelf and wait for the chopper to come

I suggest to use your prone mode effectively. Mcallian will serve as distraction. But make sure to put claymores around cars, the explosion of both ars and claymore will be bigger range. Then bascially shoot headshots as fast as you can. When it comes close and personal, use your knife effectively as well as a Ak-47 in place of handgun.

Set down McMillan then go place claymores around the fence so it is harder for them to get out of there. Then just simply throw some c4 on cars (useful when they take cover behind the cars just blow them up) Then get behind the tree near McMillan and you should be able to take them out and go prone when they are coming get up and shoot them when they get near you. Also swap the pistol for an AK-47.
Hope I could help. (I haven't tried it on veteran difficulty though)

I found a good little ticket booth stand close to the feris wheel that if you go prone in correctly along with placing clamors anywhere an enemy might come before you go there, you should be fine. Bullets will miss often enough to not kill you, grenades on the other hand do get checked into their often, it is like a 7 foot big ticket booth, so you got to know if a grenade is inside or just the other side of the wall. You've got to be competent at throwing out grenades for this spot to work.
