Swinging On Poles

Um this is seriously annoying me you know those poles you swing on well sometimes it dousnt work so I just hang there I keep pressing LT and A constantly but I don't start to swing and complete the jump(well I start swinging but no jump mostly) can someone tell me what are the correct buttons for the swing.

Press forward to swing and get momentum, and then do the RT + A combo to hop off in a forward direction.

To swing on poles while hanging press right trigger and hold a until you jump

I have had this problem. It is especially bad over water. First you need a running start to hit the pole by pressing RT and A. If you don't complete the jump, you need to keep swinging back and forth, without turning around. Once you have enough momentum, press RT and A to jump to your destination.

I find it easier to swing off poles after sprinting and jumping as it gives your charatcer momentum so he does not need to swing back and forth.

usually i dont have this problem, if you are free running then you will have enough momentum to swing as soon as you grab the pole. this way you wont have to fight with it to get him to swing off. but if you do get stuck i believe all you have to do is hold RT A and push forward at the same time and Altair will begin to swing and then jump off of the pole. hope this helps.
