 B. Gameplay Basics
===============================================================================

-----------------
 Basic Movements
-----------------

[Walking and Running]
Use the Left Thumbstick to move. Tilt it slightly to walk and fully to run.

[Jump]
Use the A Button to jump.

[Wind Run Technique]
To perform the Wind Run press the X Button and the A Button simultaneously.
This jump homes in on the nearest enemy.

[Melee Weapon Attack]
Both the X Button and the Y Button are used for melee attacks. The Y Button is
capable of stronger attacks but those attacks are slower. You can use the two
types of attacks together to form combination attacks.

[Projectile Weapon Attack]
You can use your projectile weapons with the B Button.

[Ninpo]
You can use Ninpo magic attacks by pressing the Y and B Buttons simultaneously.

[Blocking]
You can use the Left Trigger to block enemy attacks.

[Reverse Wind Technique]
To do the Reverse Wind rolling maneuver tilt the Left Tumbstick in the desired
direction while blocking with the Left Trigger. Use this technique to dodge
enemy attacks and circle around them.

[Interact]
Press the X Button when you see the word interact displayed on the screen to
interact with objects in the environment.

[Wall Running]
You can run on walls by jumping diagonally towards a wall and continuing to
press forward on the Left Thumbstick. You can run right up walls by jumping
straight at them. To do a Wall Running Jump simply jump in the middle of a wall
run. To do a wall-based attack simply press an attack button while on a wall.

[Flying Bird Flip]
You can do the Flying Bird Flip by jumping while running straight up a wall.

[Wall Clinging]
To perform a wall cling for a short period of time jump at a wall and let go of
the Left Thumbstick right after impact with the it. You can quickly change your
direction by jumping from a wall cling.

[Hanging]
If there is a handhold after running up a wall you can hang on the edge. If
there is a handhold such as a rail or bar, you can hang by jumping and clinging
onto it. When running near a ledge you will often be able to hang by instead of
running off. While hanging tilt the Left Thumbstick to move left and right. If
there is stable ground above press the A Button to pull yourself up. To drop
down tilt the Left Thumbstick down and press the A Button.

[Swinging]
To swing on poles or branches jump forward at them. While swinging press the A
Button to jump off and make use of your momentum.

[Swimming]
To swim use the Left Thumbstick to point yourself in the desired direction and
press the A Button. While swimming underwater a breath gauge appears on the
left side of the screen.

[Running on Water]
While stepping off of the land onto the water press the A Button rapidly.

[Bow and Arrow Precision Aiming]
Hold down the B Button to draw the bow and then tilt the Left Thumbstick to
enter 1st person precision aiming mode. Use the Left Thumbstick to aim the
arrow and release the B Button to shoot. In this view you can zoom in up to 2
steps using the Right Trigger to assist in accurate aiming.

[1st Person View Mode]
By tilting the Right Thumbstick you can enter 1st person view mode, allowing
you to look freely in any direction. Exit this mode by pressing any button on
the controller other than the Right Thumbstick. The 1st person view mode can
also be toggled on and off by pressing in the Right Thumbstick.

[Center Camera Behind Player]
To center the camera behind Ryu simply press the Right Thumbstick.

----------------------------
 Other Gameplay Information
----------------------------

[Ultimate Techniques]
After defeating enemies, Essence is released. If you hold down the Y Button
your weapon will absorb all the nearby Essence and become charged with power
until it is ready to explode. When you release the Y Button it will unleash a
powerful attack. An Ultimate Technique using 2 or more Essences will be more
powerful than an Ultimate Technique using just one Essence. When you defeat an
enemy with an Ultimate Technique it will release more Essence than usual.

[Essence]
Yellow Essence is used a currency to buy or upgrade items in Muramasa\'s shop.
You only get credit for 1/5 of the Yellow Essence when you use the Y Button to
attract it to you. Blue Essence replenishes some of Ryu\'s health. Red Essence
some of the Ryu\'s Ki power.

[Combos]
When you reach a hit combo of 50, 100, 150, etc... you will see the numbers
displayed in the center of the screen and very large.

[Rankings]
When you complete a chapter the game will give a karma rating based on your
clear time, number of kills, amount of Essence, and Ninpo.
The rankings are as follows:
Master Ninja (best)
Head Ninja (good)
Greater Ninja (average)
Lesser Ninja (poor)
Ninja Dog (worst)

[Difficulty Differences]
Note that when my walkthrough mentions enemy numbers and locations, this only
applies to the Normal difficulty. On Hard and Very Hard the number of enemies
for a given area can differ drastically. Also note that on Hard any \"60 Fiend
Challenge\" really has 80 Fiends that must be defeated, while Very Hard has
100 Fiends. Also some item placement differs in the higher difficulties. For
example the vase in Murai\'s dojo only contains an Elixir of Spiritual Life on
the Normal Difficulty.

 A. Background
===============================================================================

---------------
 Ancient Texts
---------------

[The Book of Genesis]
In the beginning, a great inconsistency flowed out into the nothing; a nothing
that was afraid of its own nothingness. A pure terror without color, without
sound, without smell, it formed the root of all deification, and eventually it
coalesced into the shape of the first Deity, Gurdu. Gurdu gave birth to all
elements, and provided them with order and function. In a remote area of space
from where Gurdu provided order, there existed the territory of a chaos formed
from elements without shape. This chaos, which had been forgotten during the
blessings of Gurdu, existed at first as only an instinctual fear, but
eventually the chaos began to take shape and a consciousness was formed within
it.
At first this was just a small envious presence, but eventually it grew and
became clearer. This marked the appearance of the Hatred. The chaotic nature of
the Hatred further evolved it, bringing it to the level of a Deity. Thus, the
ancestor of all Evil Deities, Vigoor, came into being, and the first conflict
was set into motion.

[The Book of Evil Deities]
The ancestor of all Evil Deities, Vigoor, began to devour the territory of
Gurdu, beginning at its center. During endless solar and lunar eclipses, the
earth shook and split, the seas dried up only to flood into existence again,
and intense winds swept over everything and fires burned down all of existence,
ignoring even the concept of time itself. Eventually, Gurdu lost his strength
and the world once again plunged into the chaos from which it had come.
Then, a great change occurred. During the throes of the unending destruction,
the body of Gurdu himself split into fourths. Each part became a Deity itself,
controlling Sentiment, Wisdom, Immortality, and Creation. Eventually they would
come together to restore shape to the world again, but in their panic-stricken
state after their birth they still had little power.

[The Book of the Dragons]
In this age of panic, the Serpent, Deity of Creation was the only one of the
Deities who managed to keep some semblance of sanity. The Serpent gave birth
to a tiny presence, something that no other being would even notice... the
seeds of life. These seeds managed to take hold and grow in the storm of chaos,
and ever so slightly began to evolve, eventually becoming thirteen Dragons,
whose destinies were to be found in battle. The Dragons waged an endless battle
against Vigoor, who never ceased in his attempts to bring the world into a
chaos of hatred. Eventually the Dragons were able to banish Vigoor to the very
ends of the world.
However, it was at this time that the youngest and lowest in position of the
Dragons, the Dark Dragon, summoned the Hatred with its feelings of inferiority.
Due to this betrayal, Vigoor was able to keep from being completely destroyed.

[The Book of the Fiends]
The Dark Dragon, now full of evil intent, joined with Vigoor and his spawn of
Evil Deities to further capture the territory of Gurdu. This conflict continued
through eons of history, and during its struggle the first spark of human life
appeared in the form of the Ancient tribes. Of course, old conflicts never
cease, and even in the age of the Ancient tribes the Dragon Lineage and the
Evil Deities continued their battle for tens of thousands of generations, a
struggle that finally ended when the members of the Dragon Lineage were able to
seal away the Evil Deities and their spawn. However, in that age of chaos all
of the bloodlines of the Ancient tribes were mixed, and the form and nature of
the Ancients has been carried on by us, the Fiends.

------------------
 Races & Cultures
------------------

[The Dragon Lineage]
The Dragon Lineage is an ancient race of beings that was said to have defeated
the sinister Evil Deities in the age of ancient myth; the descendents of this
bloodline came to be know as the Dragon Clan, the modern-day Hayabusa Ninja
Clan. The leader of these people has throughout history always carried the
legendary Dragon Sword, used to defeat evil wherever it may surface. It is the
fate of the Dragon Lineage to be inexorably linked to their nemeses, the Evil
Deities.

[The Fiends]
The Fiends are a race of monsters that are only seen rarely in the Vigoor
Empire, they are the result of a transformation in certain humans and other
animals that carry a susceptible genetic code; it is speculated that certain
unique factors in the Vigoorian environment also facilitate this phenomenon.
As a result, epidemiologists believe it to be endemic to the Vigoor Empire. The
Fiends have long been subjects of fear and awe, and a culture of Fiend worship
is still very prevalent in Vigoor. Fiends of a special rank and ability are
known as Greater Fiends.

[The Vigoor Empire]
The Vigoor Empire is an imperialistic nation located in a land-locked area in
western Asia. The country remains shrouded in mystery due to its long-standing
policy of national seclusion. Vigoor maintains a unique belief system as its
state religion. Its leader, the Holy Vigoor Emperor, holds supreme power in
both the political and religious worlds; however, details surrounding him are
slight.

===============================================================================
 B. Characters
===============================================================================

[Ryu Hayabusa]
The main character of the game. A descendant of the Dragon Lineage, he is a
young member of the Hayabusa Ninja Clan. His father, the head of the clan, has
left the village to train in the mountains and has entrusted Ryu with the
Dragon Sword, an ancient sword that has been passed down through generations
of clan leaders. While mastering the techniques of the School of Hayabusa
Ninjutsu, Ryu became the strongest ninja in the entire world. When Ryu was
meeting with Master Murai the messenger Ayane informed him that the Hayabusa
village had come under attack and the Dragon Sword\'s sister blade, the Dark
Dragon, was stolen. He now marches alone in his quest to take revenge on the
Vigoor Empire for the destruction of his Shinobi village.

[Murai]
He is a Master Ninja possessing unsurpassed skill in all of the Ninja arts.
Although he was a member of the Hayabusa Ninja Clan, events that occurred in
the past caused Murai to leave and form his own rogue Ninja organization, the
Shadow Clan. He sets up a ninja residence and spends all his hours on rigourous
training, building his strength and his muscles every day. He is a professional
Nunchaku user and also Hayabusa\'s uncle.

[Ayane]
She is a kunoichi, or Female Ninja, in the Hajin-Mon sect of the Mugen Tenshin
Ninja Clan. Although she was born into the ruling family of the clan, certain
circumstances forced her to be raised in partial secrecy. Highly skilled in
all of the Ninja arts, she has become an important asset for Murai at the
young age of 14. Fans of the Dead or Alive series may remember her as one of
the game\'s most recognizable fighters.

[Kureha]
One of the protectors of the Hayabusa Village shrine; she has known Ryu since
childhood. She is a Shinto maiden, though when she tries to entrust Ryu with
the Dragon\'s Eye she is killed by Doku.

[Muramasa]
A wise old man, he appears to be over 100 years old. He runs a weapon and tool
shop located in Tairon City. He is familiar with weapons of all ages and
countries and notices the true worth of the Dragon Sword Hayabusa holds. He is
a vital friend Hayabusa can depend on in enemy territory. He is also a renowned
blacksmith. He has erected bronze statues of himself at various locations
throughout the world.

[Alma]
She is one of the Greater Fiends, a powerful group within the Vigoor Empire.
She became a Fiend after she was lured in by Doku. She is a powerful sorceress
who waits in a cathedral of the Vigor Empire. She used to be Rachel\'s sister.

[Doku]
He is the Lord of the Greater Fiends. He is a heavily armored dark samurai, but
within that armor is just a purple flame. He lured Alma into the fold and
turned her into a Fiend. He was also behind the attack on the Hayabusa village.

[Rachel]
A Vigoorian Fiend Hunter, she is continually searching for a relative of hers
who was turned into a Fiend. She possesses genes that give her abnormal
strength at the expense of making her susceptible to turning into a Fiend
herself. She can sense where Fiends are. She carries a giant war hammer on her
back.

[The Dark Disciple]
A mysterious figure who disguises his true identity with a mask and black hood;
his neutral voice is undetectable through his machine-enhanced vocalization. He
remains behind the scenes during the events that occur in the Vigoor Empire,
observing the actions of Ryu and the movements of the Dark Dragon Blade. His
affiliation and purpose are not known though, but it is confirmed that he was
seen with Gamov.

[Gamov]
A Special Agent of the Vigoor Empire Internal Affairs Bureau; he observes the
movements of the infiltrator Ryu Hayabusa. He wears a brown trench coat and
round glasses. It would seem that his interest as an intelligence officer lies
beyond Ryu, however...

[Dynamo]
He is a commander of the Mechanized Special Attack Team (MSAT) affiliated with
the Vigoor Empire. He has made himself into a cyborg with a giant gun for his
right arm.

 5. Enemies

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
===============================================================================
 A. Basic Enemies
===============================================================================

Important Tip: Remember that you only get credit for 1/5 of the Yellow Essence
when you use the Y Button to absorb it.

[Rat]
Rats do not attack, but can be killed for some extra Essence. Rats can be found
in the Valley of Shadows in Chapter 1 and Tairon in Chapters 4 & 5.
Rats give no Yellow Essence, just small amounts of Blue Essence.

[Crow]
Crows do not attack, but can be killed for some extra Essence. Crows can be
found in the Valley of Shadows in Chapter 1.
Crows give no Yellow Essence, just small amounts of Blue Essence.

[Brown Ninja]
Brown Ninjas are the weakest and most basic ninjas. They can usually be found
attacking in groups of two or more. They throw three-side shurikens that aren\'t
very strong but are more of a nuisance because they interrupt your combos. They
have no grab move so blocking will completely protect you from their attacks.
Brown Ninjas are only found in the Valley of Shadow and the Ninja Fortress in
Chapter 1.
50 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
200 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
350 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[White Ninja]
White Ninjas are stronger and more dangerous than Brown Ninjas. They can be
found fighting alongside Brown Ninjas or other White Ninjas. They also throw
three-side shurikens. They do not have no grab technique so blocking will
completely protect you from their attacks as well. White Ninjas are only found
in the Ninja Fortress and the Inner Sanctum of Chapter 1.
50 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
200 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
350 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
White Ninja\'s have a good chance or dropping Blue Essence.

[Bat]
Bats are the weakest enemy in the game but usually appear in large numbers.
They cling to ceilings until you approach and then swoop down and attack. They
are easy to avoid using the Reverse Wind. Blocking is relatively ineffective
against them due to the fact they can still bite you when you block. Shurikens
are the most effetcive weapon against bats, although a single slash with your
melee weapon will work too. Bats can be found in the Underground Storehouse in
Chapter 1.
20 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
80 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
140 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[Samurai]
Samurai behave like slower, stronger ninjas. They can only attack with their
swords, and they don\'t have a grab technique so blocking is very effective.
When you knock down a Samurai try to press the Y Button near the body to do a
Fiend Sealer and finish off him off before he has a chance to get up. Samurai
can be found throughout the Hayabusa Village in Chapter 2.
50 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
200 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
350 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[Samurai Mage]
Samurai Mages are samurai that wield two sai\'s and have the ability to teleport
across the level. They also have a energy attack they can launch at you from a
distance. Blocking is effective in repelling all of their attacks except their
energy attacks; it only reduces the amount of damage you take from them.
Samurai Mages have no grab attack.
90 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
360 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
630 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
Samurai Mages have a good chance of dropping Blue Essence.

[Samurai Horseman]
The Samurai Horsemen carry one of two weapons, a bow or a spear. The samurai
with the bow is less dangerous due to the fact he will usually stay at a slight
distance and fire weak arrows with relatively poor accuracy. The samurai with
the spear is a bit more of a challenge because he can spin his spear to
interrupt most of your air attacks at this point and he can impale you and drag
you across the ground for significant damage. One strategy to defeating the
samurai horsemen is to use your bow to fire arrows at the samurai. Aim for
their chests and you should be able to knock one off his horse with an arrow or
two. Since the horsemen are moving targets you may find it easier to just
attack the horses with your Dragon Sword. I recommend doing the Haze Straight
Slash by holding the Y Button, adjusting the camera so you can see the nearest
samurai on horseback, and then unleashing the attack when the enemy is in
range. You will pass through the horse with this attack so this will allow you
to get several other hits on the rear of the horse. By repeatedly doing this
you should be able to knock one of the samurai off of his horse pretty easily.
Then use the Fiend Sealer on the downed samurai by pressing the Y Button near
the enemy before he gets up. If the samurai does manage to get up simply note
that is behavior is identical that that of a normal samurai. Samurai Horsemen
only appear in one section of the Hayabusa Village in Chapter 2.
[Samurai]
50 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
200 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
350 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
[Horse]
100 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
400 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
700 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[MSAT Guard]
The MSAT Guard is a the most common agent of the Vigoor Empire. When far away
they will fire at you with pistol and when you are within range they will
attack with their stun batons. Both of these attacks can be blocked. The only
danger with blocking around a guard too long is they have the ability to grab
you and slit your throat with a combat knife. Luckily, this attack looks a lot
worse than it actually is. MSAT Guards can be found throught the Airship in
Chapter 3 and Tairon City in Chapters 4 and 5.
100 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
400 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
700 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[MSAT Commander]
The MSAT Commander looks almost identical to the MSAT Guard, except with a
black uniform and a small shield attached to his left arm. The commander will
usually be accompanied with several regular guards. The MSAT Commander behaves
similar to the MSAT Guard, except with superior blocking and a grab that ends
with a kick instead of a throat slit. They also have more health and stronger
attacks than the regular guards. MSAT Commanders can be found throughout the
Airship in Chapter 3 and Tairon City in Chapters 4 and 5.
100 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
400 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
700 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[Black Spider Ninja]
Hailing from the Black Spider Ninja Clan, Black Spider Ninjas are significantly
more challenging than the white or brown ninjas. These ninjas dress all in
black and have more powerful attacks at their disposal than the ninjas you have
encountered previously. The most significant addition is they have the ability
to throw and unlimited amount of incendiary shurikens at you. If you fail to
block one of their shurikens, simply do an attack that leaves a blue trail of
Ryu\'s image like the Flying Swallow and this will allow you to \"Shake off\" the
incendiary shuriken before it explodes. Any easy way to defeat these ninjas
is to block and counter attack because they have no grab move. The Flying
Swallow wall attack will also be very effective against them. Spider Ninjas
appear in Tairon in Chapters 4 and 5.

700 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
Black Spider Ninjas have a good chance of dropping Blue Essence.

[MSAT Grenadier]
The MSAT Grenadier looks almost similar to the MSAT Guard and Commander, except
with a navy blue uniform. The grenadier will is equipped with a powerful
grenade launcher. When you are fighting close range the grenadier with attack
his stun baton. If you then become out of range of his attack he will take out
his pistol, but he will not get his grenade launcher back. MSAT Grenadiers
appear in Tairon in Chapters 4 and 5.

400 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[Red Demon]
The Red Demon is a Fiend that looks like a red dinosaur with two giant black
horns. To defeat them, get one of the Red Dragon Fiends to follow you towards a
wall, run up it, and do the Flying Swallow attack by pressing the Y Button in
air. You will come down on the fiend for some nice damage. He will also be
stunned for a moment so you can continue attacking him for a little bit. Don\'t
say near him too long because can grab you with his teeth and take your health
down almost halfway. The Haze Straight Slash is also effective against these
guys. This attack is done by holding the Y Button and releasing it when one of
the fiends in nearby. You encounter these creatures in Tairon at the end of
Chapter 5.
200 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
800 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
1400 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
Red Demons have a good chance of dropping Blue or Red Essence.

[Brown Imp]
Brown Imps are demonic beings with brown skin and one claw on each hand. They
don\'t have feet, but that doesn\'t stop them from performing ninja-like
acrobatics. They only attack with their claws, so blocking is very effective
against them. Brown Imp Fiends can be found in the Dworku Monastery and the
Underground Cemetery in Chapter 6.
50 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
200 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
350 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[Crimson Reaper]
Crimson Reapers are flying skeletal beings with red masks and capes. They
attack using a giant energy sickle, which they can also use to throw you. They
also teleport, making them difficult to attack. If you see that one has cast a
glowing green circle beneath you, run or jump out of it. Remaining in the
circle long enough will allow them to damage you. Crimson Reapers can be found
in the Dworku Monastery in Chapter 6.
100 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
400 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
700 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
Crimson Reapers have a good chance of dropping Blue or Red Essence.

[Wasp Fiend]
Wasp Fiends are ugly, flying, one-eyed insects. Their only attack is to sting,
which can be easily blocked. These creatures can be easily destroyed by a hit
or two from almost any weapon, and take two hits from the Windmill Shuriken to
pop. They always appear in large swarms. Wasp Fiends can be found in the
Underground Cemetery in Chapter 6.
50 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
200 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
350 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
One-Eyed Wasps have a good chance of dropping Blue or Red Essence.

[Zombie Warrior]
Zombie Warriors are giant undead corpses that have been reanimated for the sole
purpose of killing Ryu. The warriors come in two basic varieties, the more
reddish warrior carries a large mace while the more yellowish warrior carries
a large battle axe. Even though the look a little different, their attacks and
abilities are identical. If you see one start to cackle and throw his head
back, it means he is about to do a grab. If you don\'t avoid it and start to get
bitten, simply mash your attack buttons as fast as you can and you can break
away before too much damage is inflicted on you. These creatures are very slow,
but they take a lot of hits to defeat. When they attack with their weapon they
can either smash down with it or spin it in a circle. Both attacks can be
blocked. If you cut off one of their arms this will limit them to just the
spinning move. If you cut off their head they will become incapable of the grab
and biting move. Zombie Warriors can be found in the Underground Cemetery in
Chapter 6 and the Hidden Underground in Chapter 7.
100 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
400 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
700 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
Zombie Archers have a good chance of dropping Blue Essence.

[Zombie Archer]
Zombie Archers look like Zombie Warriors, but they remain stationary and use
a giant strongbow. Their arrows can be blocked, but if you get hit by one the
force of the arrow can easily knock you off a ledge. If you enter a room full
of zombies I recommend you take of the archers first, as they will interrupt
your attacks with their arrows otherwise. Zombie Archers can be found in the
Underground Cemetery in Chapter 6 and the Hidden Underground in Chapter 7.

[Pink Imp]
Brown Imps are demonic beings with pink skin, three claws on each hand, and a
bright blue flame for a head. They are fast and agile, but they can only attack
with their claws, so blocking is very effective against them.
100 Yellow Essence with a regular kill.
400 Yellow Essence with a 1 Essence Ultimate Technique kill.
700 Yellow Essence with a 2 or more Essence Ultimate Technique kill.

[Lobster Fish]

 B. Boss Enemies
===============================================================================

[Murai]
You will want to rely primarily on your melee weapon for this fight. While
Murai can take some minor damage from shurikens, most of the time he will
deflect your shuriken back at you. If you don\'t have great timing with
blocking, the shurikens are going to hurt you a lot more than they will help.
Perhaps the easiest strategy for defeating Murai is to go up close to him,
block all his attacks, then attack him at the first opening you get. After you
get a few hits in be sure to put some distance in between you and him otherwise
he is likely to do a grab and pummel you for some major damage. If Murai is
charging at you be sure to roll out of the way using the Reverse Wind move
pressing forward and pressing the left trigger. Murai is also very vulnerable
to wall-attacks. Simply flip off of a wall and press the Y Button to do a wall-
attack that takes off a nice chunk of Murai\'s health. At the back wall of the
dojo to the left of Murai\'s katana stand is a vase. Break it and inside you
will find another Elixir of Spiritual Life. However note there is nothing
inside the vase when you play this on the hard difficulty. Once you get his
health bar down low enough it will break into another cutscene.

[Red Samurai on Demon Horse]
Right when the fight begins I recommend holding down the Y Button and prepare
to do the Haze Straight Slash. Then just wait for the red samurai to be in
range and unleash the attack. You will pass through the demon horse with this
attack so this will allow you to get several other hits on the rear of the
horse. By doing this several times you should be able to defeat him with
little trouble, just remember to adjust the camera often so you can see when he
is in range for your attack. The red samurai has a large spear that he can spin
over his head to interrupt most of your air attacks. He can also impale you and
drag you across the ground for significant damage. You may find it useful to
focus your attention on the samurai mages and then holding Y and absorb the
Essence and unleash an Ultimate Technique on the boss. This will make even
quicker work of him. Also, if your health starts to get low, just absorb one of
the Blue Essence orbs to gain health. Absorbing the Blue Essence by holding
down the Y Button will not heal you. Also, if you get surrounded by samurai
mages and the boss I recommend you break out the Art of the Fire Wheels spell.
This will cause all the surrounding enemies to catch fire and it will even do
significant damage to the boss.

[Dynamo]
You basically want to run circles around Dynamo while he shoots. Then when he
reloads run up to him and slash him with your Y Button. I recommend doing the
Haze Straight Slash by holding the Y Button and then rolling away from him
using the Reverse Wind move and blocking in case he swings at you. Doing this
over and over should wear him down rather quickly. Just don\'t stay too close to
him for very long or he will do a grab and blast move that puts Murai\'s grab to
shame. Also, as with almost any boss fight, use some Ninpo on him if you have
any.

[Tentacle Fiend]
To defeat this thing I recommend just jumping up and slashing at his tentacles
until they fall off. When they do they usually drop some Red or Blue Essence
for you to absorb. When both his tentacles are gone, slash at him with your
sword. You can get in a few combos with the sword before his tentacles
grow back. I recommend doing the Flying Swallow move a few times by jumping at
it and pressing the Y Button. You also may want to use The Art of the Inferno
on it at this time. Just repeat this process of cutting of his tentacles and
attacking his base until you kill him and free Rachel. Also note that when its
health is about halfway gone it starts doing an attack that spews out energy
mortars. If you stay near its base you should never run into them.

[Great Bone Dragon]
The way to defeat the Great Bone Dragon is to destroy all four of his feet. He
will have one accessible to you at a time, and them every once in a while shift
positions so you can access the next one. Simply go up and attack each foot
with your primary weapon, blocking any bones of his he decides to throw at you.
You can use the Art of the Inferno to damage his claws, but it isn\'t much
better than just slashing at his feet with your sword. Occasionally he will
swipe at you with his front claws or can stomp on you with his back feet, but
these can be blocked or avoided. If you see the dragon move back his head, it
means he is preparing for his most dangerous attack. He will lunge at the
center of the screen in an attempt to eat you. If he catches you in his jaws it
will do lots of damage, so try to jump to the far right or left of the screen
right before he snaps his jaws at you. Also note when he changes positions he
can swipe at you with his tail, which can be easily jumped over or blocked.

[Letter from Murai]
\"If you wish to find the Dark Dragon, you must simply start killing. It is said
that the Dark Dragon\'s power grows as chaos and destruction grow in this world.
There is no need for you to spare the subjects of the Vigoor Empire. You go
there for revenge, do you not? The Dark Dragon revels in killing and
destruction. If you provide these things, it is certain to call out to you.\"

\"That is your destiny as a Dragon Ninja. Be aware of this as you enact your
revenge!\"

[The History of Vigoor I]
\"...ever since, these monsters have come to be know as Fiends. The majority of
them are mutations of human beings, existing in a condition of living without a
soul due to their corruption by evil...\"

[The History of Vigoor II]
\"...however the extraordinary power of the Fiends is incomparable to that of
humans; in fact the highest level of Fiends exist in a state that can only be
described as having transcended physical boundaries of form. Looking back
through the pages of history, it is quite probable that many of the most
powerful members of the Vigoorian ruling class in fact belong to this
classification. It is not surprising, then, that the Fiends have been seen as
gods...\"

[The History of Vigoor III]
\"...it is said that sometimes Fiends may rise up from dead bodies; in fact
there were many Monks of the Vigoor Order during the Middle Ages who labored
for years to recreate this phenomenon...\"

[The History of Vigoor IV]
\"...the vast majority of records dealing with the Fiends date from the Middle
Ages or earlier. During recent times the Fiends have greatly decreased in
numbers; so much so that for a member of the general Vigoorian public to come
into contact with a Fiend has become an extremely rare occurrence...\"

[The Emperor, Lord of All Creation]
\"...the Vigoor Emperor is the figurehead of the commoners, and his absolute
authority as the Holy leader of our Vigoorian Order cannot be denied. He
controls all, physical and ethereal, regardless of time or place...\"

[Suke\'s Diary]
January 24th
\"The woman that I saw tonight in Vigoor...she was extremely beautiful...I must
persevere to keep my wits about me. Perseverance...patience...\"

February 2nd
\"I encountered her again. That woman slays the beasts as if they were flies.
The vicious way she fights is so unlike her beautiful appearance. A perfect
example of extreme intensity...she is no ordinary female.\"

February 6th
\"During a fight with the MSAT I slipped up and suffered a grave injury. I
cannot reach my Black Spider brethren, my provisions are almost gone, and my
life is near its end. Death during an assignment is the wish of every Ninja,
but we still have no clues regarding what happened to the evil Dark Dragon
Blade. That is my only regret. All that is left is for me to trust my comrades,
and accept these last painful moments as my destiny...\"

February 7th
\"Although I have become so weak, I still await my death. Although I know it is
only a matter of time before I perish, I wish I could glimpse that woman one
more time...\"

===============================================================================
 A. Chapter 1 \"The Way of the Ninja\"
===============================================================================

[Valley of Shadows]
You start of all alone on a mountainside near a waterfall. All you need to do
is go up the ramp to the on your left side when you begin and jump the small
gap. Then interact with the kunai scroll that is thrown at the ravine wall. If
you don\'t go up the ramp you will come to a door.
\"The door to a sacred altar used to worship local deities. There doesn\'t seem
to be any way to open it at this time.\"
Don\'t worry about this door for now; you will be able to pass through it in
Chapter 2. Anyway, back to the scroll...

\"A Ninja must be able to find his way even when his path is blocked. When
facing an obstacle, jump towards it and run vertically up its side until you
can grab its upper edge. Move to the left or right and climb up or down.\"

Do what the scroll instructs, and run up the wall in front of you and shimmy
right so you can get on ledge with rat. Open the chest near tree to get Elixir
of Spiritual Life and read the next kunai scroll.

\"You must learn to be aware of your surroundings. The key to this ability lies
under the thumb of your right hand. Acute powers of observation are one of the
basic traits of the Ninja. Use them now and you should realize that you are
able to climb over the rock wall that now stands in front of you.\"

Run up the wall right in front of you with the scroll on it. Climb up and walk
up the slanted tree with the crow in it. Defeat the two brown ninjas that
ambush you. Then read the next kunai scroll.

\"Do not underestimate the agility that your training has given you. Feats
such as running along walls should be simple for you to perform. If you cannot
reach your destination with a single leap, make use of surrounding walls.\"

Wall run to next ledge and open the chest to get the Elixir of Spiritual Life.
Jump and swing from tree branch to reach the next area. Read the next kunai
scroll.

\"One of your most useful techniques is the Flying Bird Flip. Jump towards a
wall and run up it, then jump off again. This allows you to travel to areas
that may first seem unreachable. Repeat the Flying Bird Leap to climb certain
shafts and passages.\"

Do the Flying Bird Leap and walk through cave with the two pots at the end,
defeating any brown ninjas that come in your way. Destroy the pot on the left
for 90 Yellow Essence. Then do the Flying Bird Leap in multiple successions
until you reach the Ninja Fortress.

[Ninja Fortress]
Two brown ninjas will come from the entrance, and after you defeat them walk
through entrance. Open the door and defeat the brown ninjas in first room.
Destroy all the pots in the room because two of them contain 90 Yellow Essence.
Then open the chest in that room for an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Go through
the other door to reach the next room. Walk forward and the door will lock
behind you. Defeat all the brown ninjas that fall from the ceiling. When you
do, both doors will unlock. Go through the next door and kill the three brown
ninjas that are waiting for you on the other side. When they are dead, take a
look at samurai armor.

\"A suit of armor of the type that is often used for ceremonies, it is not
something that a Ninja would wear. A part of the faceplate is missing. It
appears to be holding something...\"

Look around the armor and you will find two more Elixirs of Spiritual Life.
Proceed to the next door and defeat the six brown ninjas. Open the chest for a
Lives of the Thousand Gods. Knock over the floor lantern on the right to get 90
Yellow Essence. Cut down the wall scroll behind the katana stand, go through
the slit in the wall. Defend against the stream of brown and white ninjas and
fall through trap door to the Underground Storehouse.

[Underground Storehouse]
Turn around and open the chest behind the pottery to get a Great Spirit Elixir
Walk through cave and kill the bats with shuriken or your sword. Open the next
chest you come across and get the Fangs the of Samurai. Destroy the two torches
in your path and jump of the ledges. Read the next kunai scroll.

\"Some ledges or platform above you can be reached simply by jumping towards
them and running straight up. A Ninja must know the appropriate technique to
use in every situation. Remember that unnecessary acrobatics may backfire on
you.\"

Flip up the planks and walk up the ramp, killing the two brown ninjas in your
path. Walk in the room and open the chest for The Talisman of Rebirth.
Then fall through the hole in the floor and backtrack to the room where the
samurai armor was. Insert the Fangs the of Samurai and the armor will release
the Key of Courage. Now continue to the next room and go through the slit in
the way again. Then defeat the wave of brown and white ninjas and go around the
trap door in the floor. Cut down the wall scroll to reveal another slit in the
wall and go through it. Examine the floating dragon statue here.

\"There is a message engraved on the tablet in the dragon\'s mouth: The sacred
underground paths of the Dragons record all that occurs in the world of men.
We have not forgotten those who live on the surface of the Earth...\"

The floating dragon head statue will then act as a save point. I recommend you
save before going up the stairs. Go up the stairs and then up ramp. Kill the
two white ninjas and use the Key of Courage to open the door to the Inner
Sanctum.

[Inner Sanctum]
When you enter the door will lock behind you. When you kill all six of the
white ninjas it unlocks the next door. Before you enter the next room, knock
over the floor lantern to the right of the door for 90 Yellow Essence. When you
enter the final room it starts a brief cutscene with a large man with
white hair turning around and standing up.
Murai: \"I see you have made it this far.\"
Then Murai starts showing off his nunchaku moves.

This then blends into the boss fight between you and him. At the back wall of
the dojo to the left of Murai\'s katana stand is a vase. Break it and inside you
will find another Elixir of Spiritual Life. However note there is nothing
inside the vase when you play this on the hard difficulty. You will want to
rely primarily on your melee weapon for this fight. While Murai can take some
minor damage from shurikens, most of the time he will deflect your shuriken
back at you. If you don\'t have great timing with blocking, the shurikens are
going to hurt you a lot more than they will help. Perhaps the easiest strategy
for defeating Murai is to go up close to him, block all his attacks, then
attack him at the first opening you get. After you get a few hits in be sure to
put some distance in between you and him otherwise he is likely to do a grab
and pummel you for some major damage. If Murai is charging at you be sure to
roll out of the way using the Reverse Wind move pressing forward and pressing
the left trigger. Murai is also very vunerable to wall-attacks. Simply flip off
of a wall and press the Y Button to do a wall-attack that takes off a nice
chunk of Murai\'s health. Once you get his health bar down low enough it will
break into another cutscene.

Murai:\"Ah, the Dragon Sword. So your father is still in the sacred wilderness.\"
Ryu:\"Yes, he has entrusted me with the sword while he continues his training.
He never seems satisfied with the power he wields.\"
Murai:\"Someday you will come to understand the pursuit of power. Perhaps,
beginning with your training here. An what of the sister blade, the Dark
Dragon? Has he left you in charge of protecting it as well?\"
Ryu:\"It remains in the village under the protection of my father\'s clan. They
will ensure that the sword remains untouched. Its dark power sealed.\"
Murai:\"It is a shame that such a sword must go untouched. Such power unused.
Alas, I am not of the Dragon lineage. The sword is not of my concern.\"
Ayane runs into the room, breathing heavily.
Ayane:\"Master Murai, the Hayabusa Village!\"
She then stares at Ryu.
Ayane:\"Master Ryu...\"
This scene is then followed by a shot of smoke rising from a valley.

===============================================================================
 B. Chapter 2 \"The Hayabusa Village\"
===============================================================================

Before you start backtracking, go talk to Murai. He will instruct you on how to
perform Ultimate Techniques. Follow along with his instructions and talk to him
again. He will then teach you how to do the Reverse Wind rolling technique. Now
that you have finished with Murai\'s little tutorial, it is time to start
backtracking through the Fortress Complex. It might be a good idea to save at
the dragon statue since you just beat Murai. The just continue going back
through the entire fortress until you reach the Valley of Shadows where you
started Chapter 2. Then go through the doors that were inaccessible at the
start of the level.

[Altar]
Interact with that strange altar to obtain The Art of the Fire Wheels. This
will now reveal an elevator. Jump in it and interact with it. It will take you
down into the cave. Jump behind the elevator you just took down to find a chest
containing an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Walk along the path until you reach a
large gap. Jump and wall run on the left side of the canyon wall. Open the
chest across the gap to get an Elixir of the Devil Way. Kill the three samurai
that attack you and follow the path.

[Mountain Path]
When you start to slide down a hill be prepared to jump. If you timed it right
you should be able to swing across three tree branches to the next area. If you
miss and fall in the water, all you need to do is swim to shore. Then defeat
the 3 regular samurai and the one samurai mage. Climb up the watchtower and get
the Map of the Hayabusa Village. Then continue up the path until you reach a
collapsed bridge. Jump in the water and swim to the ledge. Turn around and run
across the water by pressing the A Button rapidly right when you step off of
the land and hit the surface of the water. This should allow you to reach a
small alcove with a chest inside of it. The chest contains a Life of the Gods.

Swim back across the river and climb up the structure. At the top is another
save point. To the left of the save point is a chest containing an Elixir of
Spiritual Life. Walk down the trail a little further and you will reach the
Hayabusa Village.

[Hayabusa Village]
Walk over to the row of little statues and interact with the headless one.
\"It is a Jizo statue, a guardian deity of children and protector of the
village. Its head is missing...\"

Go back to the very first house in the row and go around the back of it. Then
interact with the ninja body you find there.
\"A fallen member of the Hayabusa Clan. He took his last breath here, lying
amongst the burnt remains of his home. He holds something in his outstretched
hand.\"
This will give you an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Just continue down the main
road and defeat all the samurai that challenge you. If you go up the small hill
on the right side of the path and interact with the large cracked tablet under
a shelter.
\"In order to widen the crack here, a very strong impact with a heavy blunt
object is necessary.\"
Don\'t worry about this for now; you will go back to it in a later chapter.

Walk further down the path until you reach another ninja corpse.
\"Another of the Hayabusa brethren, slain by the invading enemy forces. His
inability to protect his village must be haunting him even in the afterlife.\"
Right behind the body is a Statue Head. Take it and bring it back to the
headless statue. Place the head on the statue and it will give you a Life of
the Gods. If you decide to follow the path to end, you will come across a group
of stones in a circle.
\"A Stone Circle, made in ancient times. Now it is simply a silent gathering
of rocks.\"

Walk along the row of building until you find an alcove. Climb up the building
and enter through a window. Drop down to the first floor. Walk over to the
shelf on you left and get the Elixir of Spiritual Life and the Elixir of the
Devil Way. Then pick up the Bow on the ground. If you interact with the body in
the room you will get the following message:
\"The corpse of another fallen Ninja. What were his last thoughts as he slipped
off into the darkness?\"

If you turn around you will discover and interesting statue of an old man.
When you interact with the statue a message will read:
\"A statue of the diligent old man Muramasa, a legendary blacksmith who was said
to have traveled the world erecting statues of himself. There are folk tales of
people who have approached the statue and walked away with various items and
weapons...\"

This will then send you to Muramasa\'s shop. Stock up on elixirs whatever else
you need. Don\'t bother buying arrows as you will find a steady supply of them
in this level. If you try to upgrade your weapon Muramasa will say:
\"I\'m out of materials right now, check back later.\"

When you return from the shop just exit out the door. Kill all the samurai but
watch out for the two samurai mages. Then search the ninja body covered in
arrows.
\"Another of Ryu\'s comrades, this poor soul has been shot through with arrows.
Although the thought of disturbing the dead body is unpleasant, some of the
arrows still seem usable...\"
This will give you your maximum amount of arrows, which is 15. There is a
second ninja body you can inspect in the area, but he has nothing of value. The
message will read:
\"Yet another familiar face. How many of the Hayabusa clan have been slain?\"

Check out the three practice targets on the fence overlooking the river. Then
find the wooden plank on the ground directly across from the targets. If you
stand behind the plank and hit the center of the targets, they will release
essence. The targets on the left will release a blue essence orb up to ten
times. The top-right target releases up to ten yellow essence orbs worth 30
each for a total of 300. The bottom-right target releases a red essence orb up
to ten times to replentish you Ki meter. Don\'t waste all the red and blue
essence orbs, because you will revisit this location much later in the game.
Don\'t forget you can refill your arrows to the maximum from the ninja corpse.

Walk through the next opening. Your path will get blocked and you will need to
fight off waves of samurai on horse back. If you need them, you can get as many
arrows off of the dead ninja body in the area.
Absorb his Essence by holding the Y Button and
wait to do the Ultimate Attack until another samurai on horseback is near.
Simply repeat this process until you have wiped out all of the samurai and the
fire blocking your path will go out and you can continue. Also, you may want to
note that when the blocked path is on fire it can damage both you and the
enemies.

There is a save point right outside of the area. On your right is another dead
ninja. Interact with it.
\"Yet another slain Ninja, lying face down in front of the bridge leading to the
heart of the village. If the enemy forces have gotten this far...He holds
something in his outstretched hand.\"
This will give you a Great Spirit Elixir.

If you feel like exploring a little you can take the stairs on your left up to
the graveyard.

[Graveyard]
You can interact with the grave site.
\"A cemetery where the ancestors of the Hayabusa Clan have long been buried. A
cold chill can be felt in the air, as if the spirits of clan ancestors have
been awakened from their eternal sleep...\"
If you follow the path to the end you will reach another stone circle.
\"It is said that spirits gather in stones. However, the days when this artifact
possessed such power are long gone.\"
This won\'t do anything yet so you can just head back to the last ninja body and
head through to the Central Bridge Area.

[Central Bridge Area]
This will initiate a boss fight with red samurai on demon horse and his gang
of samurai mages. Right when the fight begins I recommend holding down the Y
Button and prepare to do the Haze Straight Slash. Then just wait for the red
samurai to be in range and unleash the attack. You will pass through the demon
horse with this attack so this will allow you to get several other hits on the
rear of the horse. By doing this serveral times you should be able to defeat
him with little trouble, just remember to adjust the camera often so you can
see when he is in range for your attack. The red samurai has a large spear that
he can spin over his head to interupt most of your air attacks. He can also
impale you and drag you across the ground for significant damage. You may find
it useful to focus your attention on the samurai mages and then holding Y and
absorb the Essence and unleash an Ultimate Technique on the boss. This will
make even quicker work of him. Also, if your health starts to get low, just
absorb one of the Blue Essence orbs to gain health. Absorbing the Blue Essence
by holding down the Y Button will not heal you. Also, if you get surrounded by
samurai mages and the boss I recommend you break out the Art of the Fire Wheels
spell. This will cause all the surronding enemies to catch fire and it will
even do significant damage to the boss. When the red samurai is finally
defeated, you will get the Technique Scroll: Counter Attacks. When you pass
through the gate at the end of the bridge a cutscene will play showing the
final confrontation in the Hayabusa Village.

Ryu searches the burning ruins of the Clan Leader\'s Residence and witnesses the
death of the shrine maiden Kureha at the hands of Doku and the decapition of
one of his clan memebers. Ryu\'s showdown with Doku ends quickly when Doku
slices Ryu\'s back open using the Dark Dragon Blade he has stolen from the
Hayabusa clan. Ryu is then seen clinging to life in the forest with a hawk
looking down on him. The scene then cuts to a point days later when Ryu has
fully recovered. As he is suiting up in his new costume he discussed his quest
for revenge with Murai.

===============================================================================
 C. Chapter 3 \"Skies of Vengeance\"
===============================================================================

The cutscene preceding this level gives you your first glimpse of the enemies
Dynamo and Garov.

You start this chapter inside a luxurious passenger cabin inside a large
zeppelin airship. In this room is a save point in the corner and an Elixir of
the Devil Way on table. If you pause and check your Archives you will find you
now have the Letter from Murai where he expresses his support for your mission.
Now exit the room.

[Living Quarters]
You have just exited the first room on the right in this area. Walk past the
second room on right because nothing of interest is in there and head straight
to the third room on right. The table in this room has an Elixir of Spiritual
Life on it. Now exit the room and enter the first room on left side of the
hallway. This room has an Elixir of Spiritual Life on table. Next, enter the
second room on left and open the chest to get the Airship Map. As you try to
leave room MSAT Guard Commander bust through window and a MSAT Guard comes in
through the door. Defeat them, leave the room, and continue down the hallway.
Fight the three MSAT Guards and one MSAT Guard Commander, then pick up the
Wing Key that appears on the ground when they are defeated. Use the key to open
the door to the Main Deck.

[Main Deck]
Follow the light blue carpet to the double doors that are locked from the
inside. Go left of them and around the corner and through the door to enter the
airship\'s galley. Open the chest to get a Life of the Gods. Leave the galley
and go down the metal spiral staircase to reach a Muramasa statue. If you have
enough Yellow Essence I strongly suggest you upgrade your Dragon Sword to Level
2 because the attacks you gain like the Flying Swallow will make you life a lot
easier, especially for this chapter\'s boss fight. Go back up the spiral
staircase and enter the Intercom Room around the corner on the right side of
the locked double doors. Go through the Intercom Room to the Crew Compartment.

[Crew Compartment]
The doors will lock behind you and the \"action music\" will queue. Kill the four
guards and the one commander and the door to the hallway will unlock. When you
enter the hallway you may want to unlock the double doors at the beginning of
the hallway for quicker access to this area later. After you unlock them go
back to the hallway and enter the sliding wood door to reach the Captain\'s
Quarters.

[Captain\'s Quarters]
Read the note on the center of the desk. It will tell you that all the locks
on the airship will be deactivated if you destroy the primary power supply in
the Aft Cabin. Then pick up the rolled up Map of Tairon to the right of the
note. Finally, pick up the golden scarab on the window ledge behind the desk
and take the elevator in the room down.

[Fore Cabin]
Exit the elevator and walk past the controls all the way to next elevator.
Ignore the locked door for now because it can only be opened with the ID Card.

[Helm]
Exit the elevator and kill the five guards that attack you. After you do this
the commander will come down the same elevator you just too. Kill him and then
pick up the ID Card that is on the ground. Then open the door behind you. Walk
to the end of the small room and open the chest to get a Life of the Gods.
Exit the room and take the elevator back up.

Use the ID Card to open the locked door in the Fore Cabin. Kill the two guards
and open the next door. Here is another save point. Open the door across from
the one you just came through and walk down ramp to the Middle Cabin door.

[Middle Cabin]
When you enter the Middle Cabin you can pick up arrows from the large box on
your left. The first and third wooden crates on your left and the second wooden
crate on your right all contain 200 Yellow Essence if you smash them open. Turn
the crank in the room three times. Kill the four guards that burst in and then
turn the crank five more times. Take out your bow and walk up the loading door
so Ryu\'s head is just barely higher than the door. This will allow you to go
into first person mode with the bow and fire at the two guards without them
being able to see you. They should each take two arrows to kill. Then hold the
Y Button to absorb their essence. Your resulting ultimate technique will not
send you off the edge so don\'t worry. Then go back to the crank and turn it two
last times. Jump under the cable shimy across to the Aft Cabin.

[Aft Cabin]
Walk around the courner of the Aft Cabin and kill the commander waiting for you
there. You can finish him off by kicking him off the edge, but also be aware he
can do the same to you. Wall around to the opposite side of the Aft Cabin and
open the chest for an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Go back to the side window of
the power supply room with tape all over it. Jump and slash at the window to
break it. You have to attack the instrument to your right, your left, and in
front of you three time each. When you finish a message will pop up announcing
all the doors have been unlocked. Exit out the now unlocked door, and shimy
back to the Middle Cabin. Refill on arrows before you leave and then backtrack
to the last save point. Go up the spiral staircase with the blue carpeting,
then head through the circular archways that lead to the Living Quarters. Go to
the very end of the Living Quarters and open the door to the Storage Room.

[Cargo Storage]
First, climb up the red crates on you left. Then climb up and go across the row
of metal ones. Then climb up the wooden crate on your right side and walk over
to the metal one it is touching. Use the Right Thumbstick and look at the stack
of two metal crates at the back of the room. That is where you have to jump to.
You should be able to leap and then flip up on top of them. Then drop down
behind them. There is a chest on the left side that contains The Talisman of
Rebirth and a chest on the right that has an Elixir of the Devil Way. On the
ground in the middle is a Golden Scarab. Climb back over the crates and leave
the room. Head back through the Living Quarters and back to the Main Deck. If
you need to, go down the spiral staricase on your left and buy elixirs from
Muramasa\'s shop. Also be sure to talk to Muramasa, so you can give him the
Golden Scarabs you have obtained so so can recieve a Life of the Gods. Now go
through the wooden double doors and head to the door at the very end of the
hallway to the Gas Compartment Passageway.

[Gas Compartment Passageway]
Roll up the metal stair case doing the Reverse Wind Technique to evade the
bullets of the two guards firing at you from the top. Kill them and turn
around. Flip up the metal fencing on your right and kill the two guards and one
commander that are waiting for you. Jump on top of the giant metal crate. Stand
under gap in ceiling and do a Flying Bird Flip to reach the area with the
Golden Scarab.

Fall back down and walk across the metal grating to the chest to get a Great
Spirit Elixir. Jump to the platform on the right side and wall run to the next
area. Kill the two guards and one commander in that area. Then go around the
fence and climb up the tall box. Face the metal panel with the red lights and
do a Flying Bird Flip to the next area. Kill the two guards and walk to the
alcove with the ladder. Face the alcove wall to the right of the metal ladder.
Repeatedly do the Flying Bird Flip until you reach a small area with a switch.
This switch will unlock the hatch at the top. Fall back down and climb the
ladder by interacting with it and you will go through the hatch to the Upper
Deck.

[Upper Deck]
Going through the hatch will initiate the boss fight with Dynamo. You basically
want to run circles around Dynamo while he shoots. Then when he reloads run up
to him and slash him with your Y Button. I recomend doing the Haze Straight
Slash by holding the Y Button and then rolling away from him using the Reverse
Wind move and blocking in case he swings at you. Doing this over and over
should wear him down rather quickly. Just don\'t stay too close to him for very
long or he will do a grab and blast move that puts Murai\'s grab to shame. Also,
as with almost any boss fight, use some Ninpo on him if you have any.

When you drain Dynamo\'s health bar all the way it breaks into a cutscene where
you see Dynamo\'s suit starting to short-out. He shoots down the smaller airship
flying above you and then explodes blowing up his own airship as well.

===============================================================================
 D. Chapter 4 \"Imperial City Infiltration\"
===============================================================================

Ryu somehow managed to escape the airship inferno and landed on a electrical
tower. He then uses his armlets to slide down the power lines and flips onto a
rooftop somewhere in Tairon.

[Entrance to Tairon]
Use the save point on the rooftop and jump down to the street below. Defeat the
three MSAT Guards and continue until a Kunai Scroll whizzes by you. It says:
\"In this city there is a club called Han\'s Bar that is a well-known watering
hole, as well as the center of Vigoor\'s underground intelligence. There you
will find clues about Doku\'s whereabouts. Go there now. You should be able to
find it easily by its garish neon sign.\"
Walk a little bit further and you have reached Twin Serpents Plaza.

[Twin Serpents Plaza]
Check out the giant serpent statue.
\"A huge statue depicting two serpents facing each other. The power of the
statue to float large stones in the air clearly shows it was not made with
modern technology. It must be the product of an ancient age. It feels like it
will begin moving at any moment...\"
Now interact with the pedestal with a stone circle in front of it.
\"The surface of the pedestal contains a depression. It looks like it was meant
to display a tablet of some sort.\"
Over the course of several chapters you will have to collect the three pieces
of the tablet and return it to this pedestal, but for now you won\'t need to
worry about it. Instead, head over to the little fenced in area with the chest.
Take the Great Spirit Elixir from it and head down the east path. Kill the
three MSAT Guards and open the wooden door to the Military Gate.

[Military Gate]
Right after you enter this area, look for the ninja body on your left. Interact
with the body to get the Technique Scroll: Guillotine Throw. If you need more
arrows you can get some from the ninja corpse by the large Military Gate,
otherwise head to the door with the single orange jewel on it. The door will
lock and you will need to kill two MSAT Guards and one MSAT Grenadier. The
orange jewel door will then unlock and you can go through to the next area.

On the other side of the door three more MSAT Guards are waiting for you. Kill
them and continue straight down the path. This should lead down a narrow alley
and eventually to a glowing object. Interact with it and you will obtain the
Stone Tablet (Top). Unlock the gate in front of you an pass through it. You are
now in the Twin Serpents Plaza again. Insert the Stone Tablet piece into the
pedestal and then head back to the stairway down you had previously walked
past. It doesn\'t matter which path back you take, but know that if you
backtrack through the alley you just came you will only face three MSAT Guards
while the Military Gate way will cause you to encounter six.

Walk down the stairs and head right. When you come to the opening another Kunai
Scroll will whiz by. It reads:
\"When in doubt, look to the color blue for the path.\"
Now take out you bow and arrow and take out the two MSAT Guards on the two
platforms across the way. The guards should take two arrows each to kill. Take
out the more distant guard first by taking cover in the alley you just came
from and sticking out just barely enough to get a clear shot on him. Then walk
out a little further and take out the second guard. You may want to hold down
the Y Button after you kill each guard because you won\'t have time to reach
their Yellow Essence otherwise. Then walk to the blue pipe at your feet the
Kunai Scroll had stuck in. You will be able to shimmy across it to reach a
small alcove with a chest inside. The chest contains a Life of the Gods. Shimmy
back and climb back up. Don\'t head down the staircase yet but instead find the
long blue bar on the wall. Jump at the wall and get a grip on the bar. Shimmy
across the bar until you reach the closer platform. Drop onto the platform and
then jump up underneath the blue cable. Shimmy across the blue cable until you
reach the more distant platform with the chest. The chest contains a Lives of
the Thousand Gods. Turn around and face the staircase you just came from. Now
two MSAT Guards are up there. You can either head back and kill them or ignore
them. Head to the door with two yellow jewels on it. This will take you to the
Clock Tower Plaza.

[Clock Tower Plaza]
First, head straight down until the path comes to a \"T\". On your left is a
locked door with three red jewels on it and on your right is a ninja corpse.
Inspect the corpse to obtain Nunchaku. Depending on your current condition,
you may want to stop in Muramasa\'s Shop which is located in this plaza near the
door with the five green jewels on it. If you approach the green jeweled door
it will cause two MSAT Guards, one MSAT Commander, and one MSAT Grenadier to
attack you. Kill them and head for the small entrance beneath the Clock Tower.
Head up the first stairway and when you turn the corner watch out, two MSAT
Guards and one MSAT Commander are waiting for you. Kill them and continue up
the third and final staircase. Walk across the balcony and three Black Spider
Clan Ninjas will drop down from the Clock Tower to ambush you. Block against
their incendiary shurikens and kill them all. If you have significant trouble
with these ninjas consult my enemy guide in section 5a of this FAQ. Go through
the small archway and open the chest to get a Spirit of the Devils. Jump
forward over the ledge to reach the streets again and head to the green jeweled
door. Hit the switch on the right side of the door to unlock it. Go through the
door to enter Great Bridge Square.

[Great Bridge Square]
Interact with the Kunai Scroll that appears right when you enter. It reads:
\"A group of Ninjas dressed in black garb act with wicked intent in Tairon. They
are members of the Black Spider Clan, and they act behind the scenes to hinder
our progress. Do not let them leave Tairon alive.\"
Head forward a little bit and go to the small fountain on your left. Inside the
fountain you will find the Golden Scarab. Now head north down the street
opposite of the fountain. Head down the street until it dead ends and go into
the alleyway on the right. Run up the left wall of the alley and do a Flying
Bird Flip onto the ledge. Drop down into the next room and approach the stone
circle. Kill the 3 Black Spider Ninjas and open the chest in the room. The
chest contains 4800 Yellow Essence, one Blue Essence orb, and one Red
Essence orb. Now leave this room by unlocking the gate.

Head back towards the Square and go up the small staircase. Kill the two Black
Spider Ninjas in your way and enter the small nook with grey brick walls on the
right and left. Do Flying Bird Flips of the two sides until you reach the
ledge. Jump over to the next ledge, then jump and wall run across the wall with
the blue lines to reach the last ledge. Enter through the doorway and go across
the balcony until you reach a ninja corpse. Interact with it and you get Suke\'s
Diary. Then pick up the Golden Scarab just behind the body. Continue on and
open the chest you come across to get a Great Devil Elixir. Then hit the switch
to unlock the colorful jeweled eye door to Pleasure Street. Jump down but be
prepared to fight the two MSAT Guards and the one MSAT Commander. Then go
through the door you have just unlocked to Pleasure Street.

[Pleasure Street]
Head down the street and approach Han\'s Bar. A brief cutscene will start with a
bouncer asking if you have a ticket for the party. You don\'t, so you get turned
away. Check out the flyer on the right side of Han\'s Bar. It reads:
\"To thank all of our Customers for their continued patronage, Muramasa\'s
Weapon\'s and Tools is offering a free Han\'s Bar ticket to all paying customers!
Muramasa\'s, located next to the Clock Tower.\"
There is also a save point nearby Han\'s Bar you may want to use. When you start
heading back, another Kunai Scroll will appear on a wall with blue lines across
it. It reads:
\"I have brought a legendary weapon to Tairon, a weapon know only by a select
few. I have hidden it in a dark alley, in a location only a Ninja would be able
to reach it. I suggest that you find it and make use of it.\"
Back up and get a running start, then jump for the first wall with blue lines,
wall run across it, jump to the next wall with blue lines, wall run across it,
jump to the final wall with blue lines, wall run, then jump and press the Y
Button in mid-air to reach the ledge. Interact with the panel that is shaped
like the top of your XBOX to obtain the Windmill Shuriken. Then interact with
the prototype XBOX machine to fully heal Ryu and replenish his Ki. Then drop
down into the alley and take it until it deadends to get another Golden Scarab.
Leave the alley and go back to Clock Tower Plaza. Kill the two MSAT Guards and
the one MSAT Commander and go inside Muramasa\'s. Buy anything and he will give
you your free gift, Han\'s Bar Party Ticket. Go back to Pleasure Street and kill
the three Black Spider Ninjas in your way. Walk up to Han\'s Bar to engage a
cutscene.

All of the bar patrons come running out of the bar screaming. Ryu walks in and
witnesses Rachel kill the Red Demon terrorizing the bar. Then Ryu and Rachel
start chatting on the roof of the bar. Rachel explains she is a Fiend Hunter
and her quest to find her sister. She also talks about the curse that makes her
susceptible to becoming a Fiend. Ryu explains his hunt for Doku. Rachel then
senses more Fiends and leaves. Gamov then introduces himself, makes some
cryptic remarks to Ryu and disappears.

 E. Chapter 5 \"The City of Fiends\"
===============================================================================

[Han\'s Bar]
This chapter begins with you on the roof of Han\'s Bar. Read the kunai scroll
that appears at the start of the chapter.
\"If you wish to follow Doku, first investigate the Dworku Monastery. It is
located in the Dworku district across the drawbridge.\"
Then open up the chest nearby for the Lily Key. Also there is a save point on
the roof. When you are done, drop down the trap door in the roof. Go out onto
the lower balcony and open the chest for an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Then go
back in the building and head down the stairs, killing the two MSAT Guards and
the MSAT Commander. When you exit the bottom of the stair open the chest on
your left for another Elixir of Spiritual Life. Continue down the hallway and
you face another two guards and a commander. Continue through the bar, but take
note of the old arcade machine. Its useless now, but eventually you\'ll be able
to play the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy on it. Go over to the bar counter and
pick of the Elixir of the Devil Way and Map of Dworku sitting on top of it.
Exit the bar and kill the five guards and one commander. You may want to save
again at the save point next to the bar or health your health or Ki by using
the prototype XBOX machine again. Exit Pleasure Street, kill or avoid the two
guards and one commander in Clock Tower Plaza and head for the door with the
two yellow jewels. Go through it and go to the door with the lily symbol on it.
Watch out, as the two guards on the platforms have returned. Use the Lily Key
to open the door and go through.

Take out the three MSAT Guards and then walk to the end of the path. It seems
like a dead end, but if you go back a little a Kunai Scroll appears.
\"Run along the wall, jump to another wall, and keep running to reach higher
areas. This is the continuous wall running technique. Practice until you have
perfected it.\"
Do what the scroll says by running across the nearest two walls on your right
and jumping to the next area. Open the chest you jump over for an Elixir of
Spiritual Life. Continue down the path to reach Moat Road.

[Moat Road]
Upon entering Moat Road you will need to defeat three Black Spider Ninjas.
Follow the road through the stone cellar, passing the gate with the Pegasus
symbol on it. You will reach the backside of the door with the three red jewels
on it. Hit the switch to the left of it to unlock it. Also on your left is a
save point. Go up the staircase to reach Drawbridge Square.

[Drawbridge Square]
Kill the two MSAT Guards and the one MSAT Commander, then head through the door
with the blue jewel on it. Now you have to take care of a guard, commander, and
grenadier. When they are gone head back and open the chest you walked past for
the Key of Pegasus. Now look at the way opposite of the chest. If you jump
through the gap in the fence and wall run across the wall with the pipe and
continue across the adjacent wall you can reach the alcove with the Golden
Scarab. Jump down and go back through Moat Road, kill the three Black Spider
Ninjas, and go to the gate with the Pegasus. Use the Pegasus Key and hit the
switch you now have access to. This will now lower the drawbridge. Go back up
the staircase and kill the two guards and the commander. Go across the
drawbridge and up Drawbridge Hill.

[Drawbridge Hill]
kill the three Black Spider Ninjas and head for the save point. In the same
alcove as the save point is a Golden Scarab. Head down the path to the right of
the save point alcove. On your left side, in a small nook with some grass is
another Golden Scarab. Further down on your left side is a chest with an Elixir
of Spiritual Life. Follow the path until you reach Monastery Plaza.

[Monastery Plaza]
All the gates will lock when you enter the plaza. Kill the two guard, the
commander, and the grenadier to unlock them all. The head down the path
straight across from where you came. Defeat the four Black Spider Ninjas that
challenge you and go in the narrow alley on your left. Open the chest in the
alley for a Great Spirit Elixir. Watch out as your leave the alley as you will
be attacked by three more Black Spider Ninjas. Then take the road all the way
to the Monastery Inner Clearing.

[Monastery Inner Clearing]
Walk into the center of the clearing and the gates will lock. Start killing the
four MSAT Guards that drop in and a cutscene will start where two of the guards
get killed by a Red Demon. This initiates a battle between you and three Red
Demons. Get one of the Red Demon to follow you towards a wall, run up it, and
do the Flying Swallow attack by pressing the Y Button in air. You will come
down on the fiend for some nice damage. He will also be stunned for a moment so
you can continue attacking him for a little bit. Don\'t say near him too long
because can grab you with his teeth and take your health down almost halfway.
The Haze Straight Slash is also effective against these guys. This attack is
done by holding the Y Button and releasing it when one of the fiends in nearby.

When you finish off the last Red Demon, Rachel appears sitting on top of a wall
and asks what Ryu \"is\". He says that all his strength comes from his training.
Rachel explains that she thought her blood was pure as well, until she
witnessed her sister Alma be led down the dark path by Doku and be turned into
a Fiend. Her goal in becoming a Fiend Hunter was to find and kill her sister
and free her sister from the curse. Right as Rachel begins to tell Ryu about
the monastery a Tentacle Fiend grabs and swallows her. This then initiates a
boss battle between Ryu and the Tentacle Fiend.

When you save Rachel, Ayane shows up and explains that the power of the Dark
Dragon Blade is growing. Ryu tells Ayane to take care of Rachel, and as he
leaves Rachel tells him that there is a hidden path under the monastery that
leads to Emperor\'s Palace. She says it is likely Doku will also be there.

This then cuts to a meeting between Gamov and the Dark Disciple somewhere in
Tairon. The talk about how the Dark Dragon Blade grows in power with each
killing, the Dark Disciple expresses that the blade has surpassed his
expectations.

 F. Chapter 6 \"The Monastery\"
===============================================================================

[Monastery Annex]
You begin this chapter right outside the Monastery Annex. Here there is a save
point and two chests, containing a Life of the Gods and Great Spirit Elixir. Go
through the entrance and up all the stairs. You will come to another chest
containing an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Then head straight across the passage,
jump down into the next area and you should see a Muramasa statue. Use it if
you need to and then exit out the doorway. Six Lesser Imp Fiends will attack
you out here. Also there is a chest on your right containing an Elixir of the
Devil Way. Interact with the ninja body a little further up to get a Map of the
Monastery. There is another save point to the right of the front entrance to
the Dworku Monastery. Save, then go through the entrance. Head up one of the
two side ramps to enter Altar Hall.

[Altar Hall]
There is a chest in a fenced in area between the ramps that contains an Elixir
of Spiritual Life. Continue a little futher and on your left between an archway
is a chest containing and Elixir of the Devil Way and on your right is a door
to the Archive. Before you head for that door head towards the back of the
room. He you should see two figures cloaked in red by either side of the altar.
As you approach they reveal themselves to be two Crimson Reapers. Also, a total
of eight Lesser Imp Fiends will appear and attack you. Go inspect the altar.
\"An altar that looks like it was made to hold some sort of holy relic. On it a
message is written: Those without faith shall be doomed to wander these depths
forever.\"
No go through the door to enter the Archive.

[Archive]
When you enter the room, a gate will close around the display cases and the
door will lock behind you. After you defeat the two Reapers and the four Imps
both are unlocked again. Before you go up the staircase, inspect the three
bookcases not protected by a glass door. Each one contains a blue book, The
History of Vigoor volumes I, II, and III. Now head up the stairs, go over and
smash the display cases, and take whatever goodies are inside them. The case
in the front on the left side contains the Stone Tablet (Right), the front
right has an Elixir of Spiritual Life, the back left has a Golden Scarab, and
the back right has Incendiary Shuriken. Now that you have obtained your tenth
Golden Scarab, the next time you talk to Muramasa he will give you a Spirit of
the Devils. Inspect the two unprotected bookcases on the second floor for The
History of Vigoor IV and The Emperor, Lord of All Creation. Now face the
checkerboard pattern section of the wall. Do a Flying Bird Flip up the wall to
reach the third floor. Pick up the Golden Scarab and then go over to the
cracked checkerboard wall on this floor. Throw an Incendiary Shuriken at the
wall to destroy it and head through. Defeat the two Reapers and the four Imps
that appear and procede through the next door.

[Altar Hall 3rd Floor]
You are now on the 3rd floor, right above Altar Hall. Instead of taking the
path to the next door, proceed to the ledge near the door you just exited. Flip
over the ledge and drop down onto the narrow path to the chest for a Great
Spirit Elixir. Then jump over through the gap in to gate to the balcony with
another chest on your right. That chest contains an Elixir of Spiritual Life.
Jump back to the ledge you started from and head around the dome to the narrow
ledge on the opposite side with the chest. That chest has a Great Devil Elixir.
Then jump to the fenced in balcony to the left for a Golden Scarab. Jump back
to the ledge you started from and go through the door to the Monk\'s Room.

[Monk\'s Room]
Head over to the monk\'s desk and grab the glowing Raptor, Deity of Sentiment
statue to the right of it. Then read the journal on the desk.
A diary written by a monk:
\"It is the 27th day of the 12th month. I have just received the Book of the
Eons as a birthday gift from His Majesty the Emperor. It is a great honor. I
shall place it in the safe so that no one will take it.\"
At the end of the entry, there are notes reading left, right, right, left.

Head over to the wall safe on the opposite side of the room. Use the Left
Trigger to turn the dial left and the Right Trigger to turn it right. Press the
X Button to lock in each number of the combination. Turn the dial left to 2 and
press X, right to the number 7 and press X, right to 1 and press X, and finally
left to 2 and press X. This unlocks the safe and you receive the Book of Eons.
The door will now lock and you must defeat the three Crimson Reapers and the
six Lesser Imp Fiends. When they are killed, exit the room and go back to the
Archive. This will initiated your first \"60 Fiend Challenge\". All you need to
do is eliminate the sixty Crimson Reapers and Brown Imps that appear and a
chest will materialize on the second floor. Go up and open it for a Spirit of
the Devils. Leave the room and return to Altar Hall. After you defeat the two
Crimson Reapers and the four Brown Imps that challenge you, go over to the
altar and place the Book of Eons upon it. This will open up a passage to the
Hall of Eons. Before going down there, you may want to backtrack to the
Monastery Annex, not only to stock up on elixirs but also to trade in the
Golden Scarabs you have so far. Because you have at least 10 scarabs total,
Muramasa will give you a Spirit of the Devils for talking to him. Now go down
the passage to the Hall of Eons.

[Hall of Eons]
Head forward and destroy the bats in your way. At the end of the room is a
Golden Scarab. Check out the ninja body to fill up on Incendiary Shuriken. The
open the chest in the room for the Map of The Underground Cemetery. Use the
save point before you leave and then go through the gate.

[Corridor of Doom]
Take note of the giant stone face at one end of this corridor, because in a few
moments you will be running for your life from it. Walk over to the cracked
stone wall and throw an incendiary shuriken at it. Now run down the winding
corridor, being sure to wall run past or jump over spikes and run under fallen
pillars. Touching spikes or getting hit by a pillar will hurt you and slow you
down. Should the boulder hit you, it won\'t be a game over. You will simply
restart at the beginning of the corridor and have to do it all over again,
retaining any damage you received from the failed run. When you succeed you
jump onto a metal wire.

[Econtra Babel Specus]
Swing to the next wire and then land on the platform with a save point and a
chest containing a Great Spirit Elixir. Follow the path, kill the bats that
attack you, and jump at the metal girder that is sticking out of the wall.
Swing to the platform, then jump to the spiraling path. Travel down the path,
jumping over the claws in your way, and go through the doorway. Kill the bats
that attack you and jump down the shaft. Go through the gate and defeat the six
Lesser Imps that challenge you in this area. Then head through the next gate.
Go down the large steps. From here you can see ten Wasp Fiends in this area.
You can kill them easily from a distance using your windmill shuriken. Jump to
the platform closest to you and then to the one with a chest on it. The chest
contains a Life of the Gods. Then continue to head down the path. In an alcove
in this room you should find a Golden Scarab. If fell to the bottom of this
room without getting everything, you can reach the top again by platform
jumping and wall running to the top. Exit this room and head down the large
steps. This will lead you to another save point. Then travel down the spiral
path, killing any bats that attack and jumping across any platform, untill you
reach the Sealed Floor Plate.

[Sealed Floor Plate]
Six Lesser Imps will spawn down here to defeat. If you interact with one of the
giant chains bolted to the wall it will tell you that if you are able to
somehow sever the giant chains the plate at the bottom of the can be removed.
Head through the opening down here and go through the Tombs of the Eons.

[Tombs of the Eons]
Shortly after entering there is a Golden Scarab in a grave slot in the wall on
your right side. You will then encounter more bats to kill and come to another
shaft to jump down. Once you are down there you will be in another hallway full
of bats, and at the end of it is a chest containing an Elixir of Spiritual
Life. You will now be at an opening that leads to a giant circular room. Stand
in the center of the room, on top of the raised button, jump and then press the
Y Button to do a down attack on the button. This caused the floor to rotate and
lower like an elevator. Kill the six imps that spawn and go through the metal
door at the bottom when the elevator stops. Head right when you go through the
door and you will come to a chest containing the Vigoorian Flail. Then go
through the metal door at the end of the hall to reach the Ritual Room.

[Ritual Room]
Upon entering the Ritual Room, the door will lock behind you and you will need
to defeat 14 wasp fiends. When you kill the last one it will initiate a
cutscene where the blood from the last wasp fiend you killed splatters into the
grail and this wakes up all the Zombie Warriors. The door to this room will
unlock once you have killed all 13 Zombie Warriors and the 2 Zombie Archers.
Don\'t forget to grab the Holy Grail on the altar before you go. Exit the room,
and now either kill the 13 Zombie Warriors and 2 Zombie Archers that have
appeared in this hallway, or just run past them and go through the metal door
at the end of the hallway.

Stand on the elevator again and activate the button.
Zombies will appear and attack you as the elevator rises, and eventually one
will slam the button and interrupt the elevator. To restart the elevator you
will need to kill the first wave of the Zombies and slam against the button
again when it pops up. Then the elevator will continue to rise and a steady
stream of Zombie Warriors will spawn to keep you busy for the trip. A total of
twelve Zombie Warriors will spawn on the elevator, but you don\'t need to defeat
them all. You can simply head through the passage at the top of the room when
the elevator stops.

Go down the hallway and climb up the ladder at the end. Watch out for more bats
and head for the Econtra Babel Specus. One Zombie Archer and six Zombie
Warriors will spawn on the Sealed Floor Plate, but you can choose to just avoid
them and head up the spiral path. You will now come to the group of small
platforms, now occupied by three Zombie Archers. This part can be a little
tricky, but I found the easiest strategy to be holding down block, throwing
an incendiary shuriken at the nearest archer, then blocking again. Each archer
should take three incendiary shuriken hits to be destroyed. When one is
defeated jump to his platform and repeat the process on the next archer untill
they are all defeated. Then continue up the spiral, save at the save point, and
jump up the giant steps on your left. Destroy the bats, then head for the small
nook in one corner of the room. Face the stone wall that juts out into the
room and do a Flying Bird Flip up to the area where you found a Golden scarab.
Then turn around and jump towards the wall you just flipped off of and climb
on top of it. No face the direction of the area that had the Golden Scarab
again. Jump at the wall above it and do a Flying Bird Flip to reach the highest
platform. From here jump in the opening at the top. Climb up the wall and go up
the stairs. Go through the gate and place the Holy Grail on the small altar in
this section. This will awaken the Great Bone Dragon.

Once you have mangled all his feet he crumbles and falls, breaking through the
Sealed Floor Plate. You also see a leak form in the walls of the tomb.

===============================================================================
 G. Chapter 7 \"Hidden Underground\"
===============================================================================

First, pick up the Lives of the Thousand Gods that has appeared by your feet.
Then go back through the gate you just came from and head back down the shaft.
Save once again at the save point you hit right before you faced the Great Bone
Dragon. Now you have a choice on what to do: you can return to the Ritual Room
for a 60 Fiend Challenge or you can skip it and drop down into the room with
the remains of the Great Bone Dragon. If you go back to the Ritual Room and
defeat all 60 Zombie Warriors within, a chest will appear in front of the area
where the Holy Grail was containing a Life of the Thousand Gods.

Now return to the Econtra Babel Specus and jump in the Coffin Chamber, the area
the Sealed Floor Plate had prevented you from accessing before that now has the
Great Bone Dragon remains.

[Coffin Chamber]
There is a Golden Scarab in this room, in a small alcove directly opposite from
the only door. If you follow the wall further, you will come to a crack in the
wall you can interact with.
\"The wall has been cracked by the impact, and water trickles in from outside.
If the crack were any wider, this whole area would be flooded...\"

Now turn around and head back for the door with the egyptian-style eye on it.
Go down the hallway and take out the four Zombie Archers waiting for you. In
the next room you will find a Muramasa statue to the right of a fallen pillar.
Head through the passage at the back of the room to reach a room with a chest
containing a Map of the Hidden Underground and a save point. Go through the
opening to the left of the save statue to reach the Suspension Bridge Room.

[Suspension Bridge Room]
Upon entering this room, you will find a Golden Scarab to your right and a
chest containing a Life of the Gods to your left. Now start heading across the
bridge. When you are halfway across, you will be interupted by a cutscene
showing the bridge being destroyed by a Zombie Warrior and Ryu falling to the
floor below. Although it doesn\'t really matter, you can to preserve the bridge
by just jumping down to the floor below without walking across the bridge,
thereby bypassing the cutscene.

You can inspect the door.
\"The door won\'t budge. It seems to be held in place by a mechanism connected to
the red and blue orbs next to the door.

 B. Observations
===============================================================================

[DOAX Clock]
In the small Intercom Room connected to the Crew Compartment in the Airship has
a wall clock. If you look closely you will notice the Dead Or Alive Xtreme
Beach Volleyball symbol on the clock face.

[Xbox Machine]
In Tairon the ledge where you find the Windmill Shuriken has a machine that
looks exactly like the early Xbox prototype. It will recharge all of your
health and ninpo simply by interacting with it. Also note the slot you took the
Windmill Shuriken from resembles the final design of the Xbox.

[Dog Turd Message]
If you have stole from the Monk\'s safe all three times you can go back to the
monastery and read one last message in the Monk\'s journal. On the last page,
there a faint, barely readable entry: \"That safe is worth about as much as a
dog turd.\"
