Is it possible to beat Tartarus on legendary. I have been trying for ages...

Yes it's possible. Here are some easy steps to do it.
1. Restart the lvl and make you're way to the place where you get banshees.
2. Survive until the sargent can blow open a hole
3. It is possible to get the ghost over to the next room.
4. Fly the ghost until the cutsceen and get back in it. 5. Just shoot at him alot and he should die eventually

Well I think that the best option is to hide in the scarab until you get to the control room. Hijack a Banshee and fly through the smoking hole that Johnson has just blown. Fly the Banshee through and just shoot him. Although once I did glitch it so that Miranda had fallen off the platfom, and because she is invincible tartarus just keeps hitting her and won't go for you. I did this with many needler shots to her back and she'll jump off and you should just take it from there.

Yes it is I have killed him in 1 hit with the sword I don't no how but I jump behind him and staped hid back and he just died

The best thing to do is to take the Banshee through the level. Or try getting him with plasmas.

Yah if you havent allredy restart the level and when johnson blows the control rooms doors to pieces, fly the banshee in and when you get to the door get out and it will open get back in, fly to the end of this room and blast the brutes guarding the control room to hell.then get out again and grab a brute shot and load up on ammo if you don't allredy have one. Then fly the banshee through the open doors and after the cutscene use youre brute shot to blast these four brute captians. Once there dead and tarterus jumps onto the platform turn around and run back into the hall and theres youre banshee! Get back in and fly it in and use it to blow the crap outta tarterus. Yes it is. All you have to do is get to the bottom floor go in the gravity lift thing and fly to one of the towers on the top floor. If it doesn't work keep trying and you'll get sooner or later.

It's VERY possable. Because I beat him on 1 player. Loose the sniper and use the carbine. As for the brutes... I have no further tips than use grenaids!

Ok. I'm sure that you have heard about the banshee thing. But it is like cheating. If you realy want the satisfaction of beating Halo 2 on legendary. Do it the old-fashioned way. Weapons: 4 plasma grenades, Carbine, Energy Sword. When you first start, throw a grenade between all of the brutes, then activate active camoe. Let your freinds kill the rest of the brutes. After that, follow Tartarus down to the platform. Let him kill your friends(you can't do anything about it) and stand on the pannel, wait for him to jump at you. Turn invisible and sidestep, wait for the beam rifle and strike him in the back of the head with the sword. This deals a major amount of damage to he brute. Then his retarted buddies come. They are more of a risk than Tartarus. The best thing to do is get on the gravity lift to the top level. And use the carbine with head-shots on the brutes. Kill the one with the brute-shot first. Ten use grenades at will if you run out of ammo. Epeat this pattern utill you kill the brute. It may take 6 to 7 sword hits to the back of the head to kill him. But him buddies only come 4 times. P.S. If you can, give one of your buddies a beam rifle, he will stay up on the platform with the seargent and snipe. If not, pay no attention to your buddies, trying to save them will get you killed.

Dude you must be pretty good to get that far because I can only get to Quarentine Zone on Legendary but on Heroic I just get the sword or dual plasma rifles for Tarturus and I just let my Elites kill the brutes. But I heard that you can somehow get a Banshee in there but I could only get it to the room where there is like 50 freakin brutes.
