Max out your health, strength, and toughness to get the sword. (The sword isn't that great)

In order to pick up the Hero's sword out of the rock at the Temple of Avo, you need to defeat a lot of monsters so that you can raise your strength, and toughness skill to the max level. You should also raise your health level a lot more so that you will have more stamina. If you raise them all to the point where you cannot possibly level them up anymore, then you know that you can now get the sword outta the rock. Its like xLizardx said though, the sword isn't that good. Hope this helps.

This probably doesnt matter anymore but I read that there is a number you need to incrase your physical stats by after you first try to pull it out. Hypothetically if this is true it isnt that hard to get but it is kinda far in the game to have super low stats.
