Sometimes, although when I tried it it didn't work... I think.
RE: Fable - fake wedding rings. I tried to give the wife-2-B a fake. She would not speak to me when I spoke to her.
They'll notice it's a cheap copy and then even if you give them a real one they won't marry you.
