Go to Memorial Gardens and dig by the pirate-statue, you'll get a key and an Obsidian Greataxe.
Dig between the 2 overturned boats on the beach to find Lady Grey's necklace (but you must have spoke to her, she'll ask you to find her necklace)
If you're talking about part 1, the finding the 500 gold to give to his wife, then it's on the left side of the dock at the beach.
If you're talking about part 2, the finding the part for yourself, dig under the axe of a statue in the Oakvale's graveyard: Memorial Garden.
The treasure you give to his wife is right next to the dock on the lefthand side on the beach in Oakvale.
The treasure you keep is in Memorial Gardens underneath the statue holding an axe.
