The Islands
The islands that Far Cry 3 is based on are called the Rook Islands. From the outside, they look like a tropical paradise, filled with exotic animals, sandy beaches and welcoming foliage. However, it is their inhabitants that give the islands their horrifying detail.
The game is split into two distinct sections - one before you unlock the Southern Island. The Northern Island is where you begin the game and find your feet.
