Ok so when it says unlock luigi can you play as mario and luigi at the same time or seperate stories...

When you unlock Luigi, you can only play as 1. At the entrance screen, there should be a green button or something. Press it to play as Luigi. Same thing with going back to Mario. PS this is only with the Planet/ Profile select screen to choose Mario or Luigi .
They play in seperate stories. But you can switch back and forth between stories.
