How do you kill ghosts when trying to save luigi for mansion

The only way to kill a Boo is this. You know how ghosts hate light? That is the answer. Get a Boo near light and it's dead. Hope this helps.

Make them float under a light. You need to find a blue lever in that room, and then attract the ghost with the key inside to make it dissapear, grab the key and proceed. Hope this helps!

Make Boo follow you then walk into a light (make sure you ARE NOT Boo Mario cause otherwise you'll turn back to normal Mario)

If you spin it will move. Also, sorry but I have a sort of question. You know in the ghostly galaxy but in the bouldergiest bit the toad brigade captain says that luigi has been kidnapped by the bouldergiest but I cannot find him anywhere in the entire level! Where is he?
