Unfortunately, no matter what shape your house is, the inside stays the same.
No matter how you create a house or business, even if you make it 2 floors, every house looks exactly the same except different decorations, all on one floor, and the businesses only have 2 rooms but only one floor, and as for the hotel, there is a second floor but only for the people who is wanting to move into your town who you haven't offered into yet, they stay up there.
