Question for Call of Duty: Black Ops

How the hell am i supposed to be able to kill the VC on the boat? ive tried a hundred times and all i end up getting is shot to hell.

Had the same problem, swim over and just before breaking water surface hit melee button and you come up with your arm around VC neck, he is in front of you taking all the rounds.
