Complete video guide to getting all the big star coins on New Super Mario Bros Wii. We take you through each individual level showing you exactly how to get each and every big star coin. Along the way check out his handy hints and tips for, beating all the bosses, obtaining extra lives, finding all the secret areas and tunnels and general tricks to help you complete this game.

When you have completed the game a 'Save' option will replace the 'Quick Save' option and allow you to save anywhere on the map.
Avoid any '?' boxes that don't have a spinning '?' on it in levels like World 2-5 as it is an enemy called a Blockhopper.
When you touch the flag pole so the last two digits of the ending time are the same (two zeros at the end will get you nothing) you will make different mushroom houses appear at the start point as you would in Single-Player when you save a Toad. When a level has been completed with the last two digits the same you will hear the original Super Mario Bros. Level clear music and see fireworks.
Have a time ending in 11, 22, or 33 for a red Mushroom house appears that awards items.
Have a time ending in 44, 55, or 66 on the timer for a green Mushroom house with a mini-game for an extra life.
Have a time ending in 77, 88, or 99 for an orange Mushroom house with a Mega Mushroom.

World 1
Level 1-3: Leads to a cannon.
World 2
Level 2-4: Warp pipe directly to the castle.
Level 2-6: Leads to a cannon.
World 3
Ghost House: Leads to a cannon.
Level 3-4: Warp to level 3-5 or castle.
Level 3-5: Star Mushroom House.
World 4
Fortress: Leads to a cannon.
Ghost House: Star Mushroom House.
World 5
Ghost House: Leads to a cannon.
World 6
Level 6-5: Castle back door.
Level 6-6: Cannon.
World 7
Fortress: Warp to level 7-6.
Ghost House: Warp to level 7-5.
World 8
Level 8-2: Warp to level 8-7.
If you stand still and then Spin Jump on a dancing flower you will get a coin.
When you perform the following 6 actions during the game you will be able to gain the indicated amount of extra lives.
1) Jump on 7 turtles to get an extra life. If you are fast enough you can keep jumping on the turtles until there are no more to jump on.
2) Go to World 2-3. Just before the flag are some stairs with a turtle moving down. Use a precisely timed jump to continue bouncing on it's shell to collect up to 99 lives.
3) When you are riding on a Yoshi jump on the bullets 7 or 8 times to get as many extra lives as you want.
4) Kill 8 enemies with a star on you to get an extra life. If you are fast enough you can keep it going until the star runs out.
5) Kill 8 enemies with a turtle shell you will get an extra life. If you run fast enough you can keep hitting the turtle shell until there are no more enemies.
6) Freeze the Pokeies then do a quick Ground Pound to get at least 5 extra lives.
When you complete the game with less than 100 Star Coins the Princess will say 'Did I ever tell you about the Secret World?'. If you complete the game with ALL Star Coins from Worlds 1 through 8 the Princess will say 'Oh Mario, tell me about your adventure again!' (alternatley complete the game twice to get this ending).

Green Mushroom House:
Touch the flagpole with last 2 time digits as 11 or 22.
Red Mushroom House:
Touch the flagpole with last 2 time digits as 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, or 88.
Gold Mushroom House:
Touch the flagpole with last 2 time digits as 99.
When you complete the following special tasks you will be rewarded with the corresponding stars on your save file.
Unlock Star 1:
Beat the game.
Unlock Star 2:
Beat every normal level
Unlock Star 3:
Collect ALL 207 Star coins in the first 8 worlds.
Unlock Star 4:
Collect ALL 24 Star coins in world 9.
Unlock Star 5:
Beat every level, find every secret goal and use ALL of the warp cannons.
Unlock Sparkling Stars:
Beat the game without Super Guide appearing.
Collect ALL 3 Star Coins on a level to the 'Hint Movie' for that particular level.
This bonus feature becomes available when you intentionally fail a level 8 times. In Auto Pilot mode Mario will automatically complete a level.
From a Neutral position Spin Jump (flick Wiimote upwards) and every dancing flower will give you one coin.
When you have beaten the game World 9 will become unlocked and if you then collect ALL the Star Coins in a world the corresponding level will become available.
Unlock Level 9-1:
Collect ALL Star Coins for World 1.
Unlock Level 9-2:
Collect ALL Star Coins for World 2.
Unlock Level 9-3:
Collect ALL Star Coins for World 3.
Unlock Level 9-4:
Collect ALL Star Coins for World 4.
Unlock Level 9-5:
Collect ALL Star Coins for World 5.
Unlock Level 9-6:
Collect ALL Star Coins for World 6.
Unlock Level 9-7:
Collect ALL Star Coins for World 7.
Unlock Level 9-8:
Collect ALL Star Coins for World 8.
-Enter course 3-2.
-Then go the first turtle that is throwing snowballs.
-Kill that turtle.
-Go back and grab a shell
-Carry the shell to the right until you reach the goombas in between two cannons.
-Make sure that you don't lose the shell. Jump onto the first block above you.
-Throw the shell
-Watch the Lives rack up.
This should only take one session if you can speed run the rest of the level without dying.
Get a shell, bring it to one of those stair locking things that lead to a flag, drop the shell, and keep jumping on it! You'll instintly get coins every time you jump on it and it goes back and forth!
#1 In the part with the green pipe with a Piranha Plant, and a yellow pipe next to it. Walk right and you'll find out the yellow pipe is actually made of two pipes. Go through the one you're standing on.
#2 As mini (NOT SMALL) Mario you can walk through some of the horizontal pipes. In one there's a secret warp if you walk!
Go to World 1-3.Get a Yoshi or a Flying Suit thingy.When you see that ledge that leads into the wall,jump on that ledge but don't go into the wall with al the coins.Jump with Yoshi or Fly with the Flying Suit to the top of that wall that's hanging down.Keep going right untill you go into a pipe. This is the alternate ending which leads you to the Warp Cannon that goes to World 5.

P.S.This doesn't take you to the 1-Tower.You will have to do the level over again and get the correct ending to go to the level 1-Tower.
Here is an easy way to get 99 lives.
Step 1:Go into World 1-1.
Step 2:Get every coin that you see. Also, go into all of the pipes.(Not the spinning one at the end though!)
Step 3:Get the Red Ring at the top of the level and get one 1-up.
Step 4:When you get to the spinning pipe close to the end of the level, wait for the pipe to show. Get into the space where the pipe is but don't go down the pipe.Just wait for lots of coins to show. There will be 3 empty spaces where invisible ? Boxes are.Hit them. There will be a 1-Up in every box. Plus the coins you get about 4 1-Ups just from that!
Step 5:Finish the level by getting a 1-Up at the top of the flag.
Step 6: Repeat over and over and over again untill you have 99 lives!

P.S. If you do this with 2 or more players then you can get more. Just put them into a bubble untill you get to the Red Ring. Then get them out of the bubble and make them to where they are under the platform where the Red Coins are shown.{Make sure that they have the Flyer Suit thingy before you do this!}Then, use their 1-Ups for yourself.

First you have to get this level unlocked by getting the secret exit in the level 7-Tower. Then you can go into this level. The yoshi is at the first platform that you start on. It will be in a box {a brick one} that is hidden in a cloud.It is just a glob of clouds near the bottom of the screen.Just spin and you will see it.

First you need to go to world 1-2 and go right passed the checkpoint and ground slam those bricks and smash the goomba then hit that brick and a super star will come out jump out of the hole and get it then you have to run into every enemy and you can also go to worlds 1 through 5 to get infinite
