The introduction to Paper Mario 2 is exciting enough to make you want to play on to see the ending and to want to see what is behind the Thousand-Year Door. The letter from Peach is mysterious and really sets the stage for the plot of the game. If you are a mario fan, this introduction will definitely look promissing.

At first, I thought that the graphics would be lacking, like in the first Paper Mario, which had a very "Papery" 2-D feel, but as I began to play I saw tht the graphics for this game were much more believable than in the first game. The paper environment actually lends to better graphics because sets can fold out right before your eyes and it makes you buy into the whole paper setting idea.

The sound in this game is simply outstanding. The range of sound effects is amazing and often comical, making the game that much more interesting. The sound adds a lot to the plot. The music is stunning, having some of the best original music I've ever heard in a game, showcasing the many different emotions that are supposed to be felt in different seens.

The gameplay in Paper Mario 2 is very fun and easy to understand. The controls are not hard to get the grasp of and moving Mario through different environments quickly becomes natural. The battle system while seeming somewhat tedious, is clever, with a variety of attacks and items to choose from. I found myself wanting loving every second I got to beat up the badies. The feeling you get after defeating a boss is almost addictive. Ha Ha.

Paper Mario 2 is easily a timeless game that will be a favorite of many gamers for years to come. I will surely never forget it. The replay value is rather low, but there are enough things to keep you busy after beating the game that you hardly need to replay it. This is a game that will leave players comeing back for more.

Overall Paper Mario is a great game, rich in plot and playability. The mane different enviornments made me want to explore all of the paper qualities of the game. The variety of things to do is amazing. You can follow the story just to see what happens at the end or you can try to see how high you can raise your stats and try to collect all of the items like shine sprites and badges in the game. Paper Mario 2 is a dazzling game that has much to offer.

Final Score: 92%
