I have waited for this sequel since finishing the first game. With all this excitment was somewhat wasted. Even I enjoyed the game there was room for much improvement and personally it seemed to have been rushed out to fans. I'm not saying that the ideas or improvements are bad, but they do need a little more work.
The cutscenes are simply put amazing. I don't think I have seen anything this good on either playstation or xbox. The during gameplay the graphics are still very good and detailed. The fight scenes are incredible looking, if only all games could look like this there would be no need for next generation systems.
The sounds of the fighting and background music are good, but repeat a little too often. If you played the first game you will remember all the same songs and become rather bored with it fast. Although the most disappointing part of the sound comes from the little meraid world. It is a world of songs, no fighting just boring and pointless songs with timing button presses.
The gameplay does get rather boring and pointless having three and sometimes four member on the scene on your team. You do not get any control over them accept sora. Donald and goofy seem less important and more of a distraction from the same go here talk or battle this person then come back. The levels also seem to small and some even seem like they were put there just because they didn't want the game to be 10 hours long. The enemies first stay weak and very easy to defeat on normal level, however they very, very, very slowly get harder until the final boss which becomes insanly hard to defeat.
Its worth it to play through but I don't think I will be trying to go through the game again. There is little interaction with the final fantasy characters, and maleficift seems pointless to be added in the game. I would like to know what the forms full abilties could be, but as bad to play through it again or to play from the last save.
This game kinda made me feel a child during some parts. It seems the company was aiming more towards a younger crowd then true role playing gamers. It is sad that a seris that seemed to capture my heart suddenly is reduced to a game more for my young cousin than me.
