- Halo 2
Also on: PC
Halo 2, the biggest debut ever in history. All across the country, poeple have waited for the release of Halo 2. I am about to give you a rull review of Halo 2, in my words, in my opinion. Halo 2 is fantastic in many ways, from the features to the graphics.
The graphics are simply amazing, but from my experience, I've encountered several texturing and rendering problems. The HUD is nice, updated, and easy to read. The gameplay graphics blew me away. The weapons, so detailed. The Mark VI (Master Chief, SPARTAN 117) was very realistic, as if I was in the battle. The graphics are unbelievable.
The sound is another great factor about Halo 2. The music was just great. From past songs on classic Halo: Combat Evolved, I should say music evolved. The music and the sound effects are realistic enough to believe that you're with the fight. The melee sounds, the grunts from the Master Chief as he struggles to regain his shield, the heart beat of life and death. The sound is off the chart.
The gameplay is probably the most important factor about Halo 2. The Campaign mode is very detailed, longer, more interesting cutscenes and intermission sequeces. Not to mention the intense battle to save Earth. Metropolis was my favorite level. Some added features from Halo: Combat Evolved are boarding (hijacking), Dual-Wield (hold two weapons simultaneously), and swapping weapons with allies (your weapon must have at least 1 round). That way you won't have to kill your ally to get a weapon you like. As for the multiplayer gameplay, this is the most amazing online experience I have ever encountered. Xbox LIVE is a whole different program. You won't regret supscribing for Xbox LIVE. Split screen is just as intense. Playing with close friends... There's nothing better.
Halo 2 will last for generations. You will never want to give it away. Its resale value will gradually increase, as of the features and gameplay. Halo 2 is the icon of the best FPS shooter ever made, for any platform. I say, this is the biggest video game release of the millenium. If you get the Limited Collector's Edition (which I got), you won't regret paying and extra $15 for it. The extra disc is worth it. A solid memory.
Overall, this game reigns abolve all else, for any platform. This is why you should've gone with the Xbox. You will never regret getting Halo 2, I promise it. Whether playing with friends, or over the Internet, or even just trying out the Campaign mode, Halo 2 will always be the icon of the release of the millenium.
