Upgrading
So I've been told that using certain items can make weapons into others and lead to the Omega Weapon. I looked up what I had to use for starting out with Lightning's Gladius to get Helter-Skelter, and it said to upgrade with Uranite. But when I go to upgrade, it won't let me use Uranite or anything I can buy at the Motherlode. Can someone help me please?

Be careful, you will spend a lot of Gil upgrading your weapon. So make sure you have chosen the right one you want to turn into the Ultimate and omega. Depending on what you choose will come out with that ability.
IE: LionHeart(Quick Stagger)-> Ultimate(Quick Stagger) --> Omega(Quick Stagger)

But to transform a weapon, these conditions must be met:
Weapon must be at max level, which should appear as a star. or it's "Tier" level.
You will also needs it's transformation Catalyst.
