Put him down when ever you expect enemies to attack you. He may not be able to move on his own but he can still shoot sat down so if you put him in a decent place he should defend himself pretty well. (don't worry about him dying when you put him down) Take your time aswell, if you need to recover health, then take cover. The time limit is pretty generous so you should'nt have to worry about not getting to the extraction quick enough. Make sure you also keep your sniper rifle handy for when you do get to the extraction, you will need it. Place out all the claymores you have when Mac tells you to, use them to cover your flanks. When they are all set out, take a prone position near Mac and keep yourself alive untill the helicopter arrives. When it does eventually get there, carry Mac on to the the Heli and it's mission complete.
