Thank You/ Closing Comments =========================================================== A. Introduction --------------------------------------------------------------------- A1. What the &^#$ is this thing? This guide is here to give you an insight into the Grand Theft Auto universe. It deals with the main storyline of the games and tries to make connects wherever possible to help you see the 'big picture' and how everything is related. Each game is really a part of a larger world and hopefully this guide will help you see that. If not, then I have failed in life. This guide will go through a chronological timeline of the games giving the stories and plots. The guide will also go into background and some history on the major gangs or groups in the series and then will deal with main characters related to the storyline. Of course, the guide won't get into every single background story to each building or group simply because there would be too much data and I would probably be an old man by the time I finish writing this. GTA Advance is a different story then the other modern GTAs. Some of it is cannon but then there are other facts that don't make sense. And since I don't have a Game Boy I don't see myself playing this. Therefore, GTA Advance will be left out of the storyline and may only be referenced once or twice. However, if there is something that you feel is important to the storyline then email me and I will try to include it. Please not that this guide contains all information about the Grand Theft Auto storylines. That means SPOILERS! It is all discussed here so if you want to be surprised then you should not read further. Go play the game and come back. I'll wait. OK, you done? Good now here we will continue. This guide will be a comprehensive look at the Grand Theft Auto series but will not include GTA 1, GTA London, or GTA 2. --------------------------------------------------------------------- A2. Why not GTA 1, GTA London, and GTA 2? Well the main problem with these games is that they don't have a fixed year. It isn't specified in 1 or 2. Yes, London is set in the 60s but it follows the ideas and flow of the 1st series of games. GTA III was basically the start of the "true" series and storyline aspect. Also, GTA 1 didn't have a set lead character. So my description would be "some guy runs around doing jobs for some people". Now, you don't want crap like that in here do you? Do you? So these games will be left out of this guide. One day I may do some info from them like a 'history of GTA' or something but for now they are gone. --------------------------------------------------------------------- A3. Meet the Author My name is Matthew Vetere and I'm a 22 year old gamer. I have been playing video games since as far as I can remember. I used to play on the old Atari system with my cousins but moved to better technology after. I began my love for writing long after I had finished college and school and I do regret not taking some writing courses. But I specialized in Accounting and now work for the Town of Markham which is just north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It's a good town as they are very environmentally friendly here. My first writing experiences came on a former site of mine as I would review wrestling shows, PPVs, and write columns. I'm still a big wrestling fan but video games are my true hobby. I currently write reviews for TheScratchPost.com and I am thankful at the opportunity they have provided me. This is my first guide experience and I really enjoyed it. Getting into the details and all that. The Grand Theft Auto series along with the Metal Gear Solid series would be my favourite games of all time. They are just 2 masterfully done series and I am biting my nails waiting for GTA4 and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PS3. Well I think that covers it for now. If anyone wants to know more or wants me to write about something specific then email me. Or you can find me posting on the forum at Stablewars.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- A4. Submissions/ Contact Info. As thorough as I feel that I have been in this document I know that it isn't perfect. Nothing is ever perfect. Therefore, if you see any problems or if you have any suggestions then contact me. Also if you have any comments about the series or anything like that. My contact email is: MATTVSIN (at) GMAIL (dot) COM Simple enough email I believe. I also check it everyday so I should be a good contact if you have a question. --------------------------------------------------------------------- A5. Version History Version 1.0 (July 6, 2006)- The beginning. Pretty comprehensive. Version 1.1 (August 24, 2006) - Made some grammatical corrections. Added information based on Vice City Stories. =========================================================== B. Locations The Grand Theft Auto universe (GTA 3 to GTA San Andreas) has been portrayed in five different cities. They are all based on real-world cities. When in the game you can notice the similarities between the cities and their real-world counterparts. The most significant features will stand out (the hills and streetcars of San Fierro, the crime and pollution of Los Santos, the Miami Vice carbon copy of Vice City). Below is a list of each city in the GTA universe, some information, and its corresponding real-world city. ----------------------------------------------------------- B1. Liberty City Based on: New York City, NY Population: Approx. 4 million Comments: Motorcycle operation/ ownership banned in 2001. Composed of three islands attached by tunnels, bridges, and ferry lines. These islands in Liberty City are: Portland, Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale. Portland is the industrial sector of the city. It contains the poor neighbourhoods, docks, red light districts, warehouses, etc... Portland is also the home to several criminal organizations including the Italian Mafia, Chinese Triads, and the Diablos. Staunton Island would be considered the commercial and business sectors. With skyscrapers, a huge park, and a casino it is the heart of the city. Crime gangs like the Yakuza and the Yardies find their hoems here. Shoreside Vale is primarily the residential area. Upon entering the island one discovers a huge international airport (Francis Intl. Airport). Moving further along, the upper class housing is located here but several poor neighbourhoods still exist (such as Wichita Gardens). There is also a small industrial area located north of the airport. Liberty would be the most-featured city in the GTA universe. It has been featured in five of the games. GTA III, Advance, and Liberty City Stories were entirely set in the city. Vice City and San Andreas have opening credits that start in Liberty City and during each game there are constant references back to the city. San Andreas even has a mission that is in Liberty City. Liberty City is a town ruled by gangs and gang violence. There are numerous gangs based on real-world ones. Yakuza, Triads, mafia, and several others are all based on their real-world counterparts. While there are some allies between the gangs the bonds are weak and it usually doesn't take much to start a gang war. No one group can control the city for too long as there are just too many gangs in the same struggle for power and the strongest usually become the target for all other groups. The city is frequently referred to as 'the worst place in America'. Games located in city: GTA 3, GTA Advance, GTA Liberty City Stories ----------------------------------------------------------- B2. Vice City Based on: Miami, FL Population: 1.8 Million in 1986. Comments: Enormous tax increases in the 1980s. Vice City is a unique city. Its southern location provides for warm weather all year long while this also positions it close to the Caribbean. Legal and illegal immigration is a huge factor in the city's population growth during the 1980s. Cubans, Haitians, Mexicans, and Dominican immigrants all call this place home. Vice City consists of 2 primary islands. The east island contains an enormous beach, a huge shopping mall, clubs, a beach front district, apartment complexes, hotels and boating docks. The west island contains most of the immigrant areas with Little Haiti and Little Havana being the largest areas. Escobar Intl. Airport is located here as well as the Fort Baxter Military Air Base. Hyman Memorial Stadium attracts crowds with demolition derbies and other violent car activities. The west island is also the business side of the city with shipping docks and industrial areas. Located in the centre of the 2 islands are a few smaller ones. Starfish Island contains a gated community of wealthy Vice City citizens. Leafs Links Golf Course is located on these islands as well and provides a premiere golf experience. Gangs and racism are big issues in Vice City. Thanks to its southern location and proximity to the Caribbean, most of the gangs are immigrants. Groups of Cubans and Haitians have set themselves up in Vice City and developed their own areas within the city. The primary income for most gangs is the sale of drugs. Most drugs get imported from the Caribbean and sold at a huge mark up to the Vice City population. Corrupt businessmen and politicians hold the real power over the city. Paying off the law or changing laws and legislation is how they maintain that power. Games located in city: GTA Vice City, GTA Vice City Stories ----------------------------------------------------------- B3. Los Santos Based on: Los Angeles, CA Population: Unknown. Comments: Nicknamed the "City of Saints" Los Santos is a city located in the southeast region of the San Andreas state. Situated close to the Mexican border, immigration and low income families are a huge problem for the city. There are several poor neighbourhoods located in Los Santos. The city suffers from pollution problems as well, thanks to the industrial sector in the southeast corner of the city. The wind off the ocean pushes the pollution over the city. The early 1990s saw the huge introduction of drugs into Los Santos. Some of the local gangs sold the drugs and profited from it while others stayed away from the issue. These gangs suffered as some members betrayed them and the drugs basically took over the city. Gangs are a huge problem for Los Santos. Each gang has their own territory located around their homes or neighbourhoods. Gang wars are sparked very easily between similar ethnic groups or rival gangs. Simple insults or accidentally walking into a gang's territory can be the spark for gang wars. The early 1990s were filled with gang wars and drug problems for the city. Corrupt police officers rule the town and align themselves with gangs to promote their own agenda. Games located in city: GTA San Andreas ----------------------------------------------------------- B4. San Fierro Based on: San Francisco, CA Population: Unknown. Comments: Least problematic city in the GTA universe. San Fierro is located in the northwest region of the San Andreas state. San Fierro has a very polished look to it. The streets are clean and the city has no industrial sector so pollution isn't a problem. There are no low income or "poor" areas of the city possibly due to high housing costs. San Fierro is a prime business city with hotels, car dealerships, and clubs being prime businesses. San Fierro has a large Chinese and Vietnamese population in it. These 2 ethnic groups conflict with each other but not very often. Chinatown is a hot spot for tourists along with the docks. San Fierro's airport is located to the southeast of the city near the US Naval Base. San Fierro has several gangs but most of them aren't very violent. They stick to their own businesses and fronts. The Chinese gangs would be the only large gang in the city with the Rifa (a Hispanic gang) following. Some of the gangs have profited off the drug problems in Los Santos. They produce the drugs in factories in San Fierro and then send them off to Los Santos to be sold at a mark-up. Chinese and Vietnamese gangs had several conflicts in the early 1990s but it quickly ended with the disappearance of the Vietnamese gangs. Games located in city: GTA San Andreas ----------------------------------------------------------- B5. Las Venturas Based on: Las Vegas, NV Population: Unknown. Comments: City based around gambling. Las Venturas is located in the northeast region of the San Andreas state. Smack dab in the middle of a huge desert, Las Venturas glows with neon lights in the night. The city is powered by a huge hydroelectric dam located in the west called Sherman Dam. Tourist gambling and spending is a primary source of revenue for the city. Several quiet suburb areas surround the central district called 'The Strip' which consists of restaurants, bars, casinos, hotels, and other businesses. A main highway has been built which circles the city and helps ease the flow of traffic around the main tourist areas. In the early 1990s the town was owned by the mafia. The casino business was firmly in their grasp. However, Chinese Triad gangs moved in and develop their own casinos in competition with the mafia. Gang issues arose but settled shortly after. The mafia's hold on the city was eventually weakened and the city has become simply a business community with minimal gang influence. Games located in city: GTA San Andreas =========================================================== C. GANGS What would be a Grand Theft Auto game without gangs? Gangs are what drive the personalities and motivations of the individuals met throughout the GTA universe. There is no one type of gang in GTA. The groups are very diverse and even the same gang can be totally different depending on the time period and location. Motivations change during the years. Gangs are armed differently, have different goals, and use different fronts for their business. This section will list and explain each gang or group that is worthy of such a description. Worthiness is based on what influence they have in their city or their importance to the storyline. ----------------------------------------------------------- C1. Ballas City: Los Santos Turf: Idlewood, Glen Park Leader: Unknown Clothes/ colours: Any purple clothing. Hoody, pants, bandanas, etc... Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Robbery, drug dealing. The Ballas were originally formed somewhere in the 1980s. It is unknown who started the group or where in Los Santos it originated. Some theories suggest they they started in or around Idlewood or Glen Park as those are typically low income, African-American neighbourhoods. This puts them close to the Grove Street Families which could also point to the hatred between the gangs. The gang is the most hated enemy of the Grove Street Families. Due to fighting among the Grove Street Families and the introduction of drugs the Grove Street Families lost much of its former glory. The Ballas were able to take over most of the Grove's territory during this time in the early 1990s. In 1992, Carl Johnson returned to Los Santos and began helping the Grove Street Families regain territory and influence. The Ballas may have been caught off guard as CJ was able to unite the families quickly. However, due to the defection of Big Smoke and Ryder to the Ballas and the murder of several top members, the Grove Street Families were almost wiped out. The drugs the Ballas sold were a strong reason for this defection. Later that year, the Grove Street Families returned and were eventually able to wipe out most of the Ballas gang. At present it is unknown whether the Ballas were completely taken out or not. Storyline: The Ballas started gaining strong influence around 1987 when the Grove Street Families lost one of its leaders. Carl Johnson left Los Santos after a mistake that got his brother, Brian, killed. The Ballas began using drugs to expand their influence and control in Los Santos. During this time they seemed to have allied with the Vagos and had a drug syndicate set up with the Rifa from San Fierro. In 1992, the Johnson's mother was killed and Carl returned. Carl set out to bring the gang back to life. He managed to get it going but found drugs had a big influence over the former members. The Ballas has taken control of much of the city. However, CJ started to succeed and had several key victories over the Ballas. This was until the Grove Street Families were betrayed by Big Smoke and Ryder who defected to the Ballas. Several high ranking members of the Grove Street were killed in the incident. The Ballas re-established themselves at the top of Los Santos again. However, CJ destroyed the Rifa drug factory in San Fierro so the supply to Los Santos would end. CJ then killed Ryder and broke up the drug syndicate and returned to Los Santos. He brought together the Grove Street Families again and took on the Ballas. CJ and the Grove Street Families were able to kill Big Smoke, Officer Tenpenny, and numerous Ballas members. Continuing on they took over Ballas' territory. It is unknown if the Ballas survived and if the gang is still around or not. ----------------------------------------------------------- C2. Bikers City: Vice City Turf: Small area near Greasy Choppers Bar Leader: Big Mitch Baker Clothes/ colours: Leather jackets and vest, blue jeans, bandanas Vehicles: Harley style Motorcycles Activity: Security services The Bikers consist of several war veterans and motorcycle fanatics. They act as a family and are very close to one another. Joining the gang is difficult and not taken lightly among the members. One most prove that they are worthy and they usually have to win a race against other bikers and perform several tasks to prove they are worthy to be accepted. Once you are in the group, they will treat you as a member of the family. Storyline: Kent Paul decides that he needs security for a Love Fist concert. He asks Tommy Vercetti to go get the Bikers as the security. Tommy must first become a member of the gang before they will do the security. So Tommy performs several tasks for the gang including getting back Big Mitch's bike back after it was stolen. Eventually, Tommy is accepted into the gang and Big Mitch agrees to provide security for the concert. ----------------------------------------------------------- C3. Blood Feather Triads City: San Fierro Turf: Chinatown Leader: Unknown Clothes/ colours: Black suits, traditional red and white Chinese clothing. Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Possibly involved in gambling The Blood Feathers were a section of the Chinese Triad group in San Fierro. Little is known about them as the gang was completely wiped out by the Da Nang Boys, a Vietnamese gang who moved to San Fierro in the early 1990s. The Blood Feather Triads appeared to have been targeted first by the Da Nang Boys as they were the weakest group of the Triads. It didn't appear that the Blood Feathers had much control or influence over the Triad operations or in the city of San Fierro. Storyline: CJ and Woozie go to the Blood Feathers in an attempt to strengthen their alliance in order to stop the Da Nang Boys. CJ and Woozie were too late as the Da Nang Boys had already killed all the Blood Feathers. They attacked CJ and Wooize but they managed to escape. This action by the Da Nang Boys starts agang wars between the Triads and themselves. ----------------------------------------------------------- C4. Columbian Cartel City: Liberty City Turf: Cedar Grove, Construction Site (Port Staunton) Leader: Currently unknown, 1998 - Miguel, 2000 - Cisco, 2001 - Catalina and Miguel Clothes/ colours: Navy blue pants, Hawaiian shirts Vehicles: Cartel Cruiser Activity: Drug distribution In 1998, the Cartel was lead by Miguel (who leads in GTA III) and seemed to be just starting out in Liberty City. They were heavy into the drug business and that was their main front. In 2000, the Columbian Cartel was lead by Cisco. It is unknown why or how Miguel fell from leader of the Cartel during this time. They were primarily involved in the drugs industry under Cisco's leadership as well. A man by the name of Mike started working for the Cartel during the same year. Mike began working with the Cartel after he had killed and beat up several of the Cartel's high officials. Cisco, not knowing of the murders, hired Mike for his brutality. The Cartel started some bad blood with the Yakuza by kidnapping the Yakuza leader's niece. She was eventually broken out by Mike. Cisco is eventually killed by a man that Mike thought was dead. In 2001, Catalina and Miguel took over the Cartel. They used the Cartel to sell their new drug, SPANK, to Liberty City. Catalina, however, was still obsessed with ending Claude's life and eventually Claude killed her and several high ranking members in the Cartel. It is unknown what happened to the Cartel after that. Storyline: In 1998, the Cartel wasn't big time just yet. They were led by Miguel who would later lose his power to Cisco and then regain it thanks to Catalina. They were already into the drug business. In 2000, Cisco hired Mike for the Cartel and Mike would work with them until he started to work for the Yakuza. Mike then went back to the Cartel when Cisco said that he had information about Mike's friend's (Vinnie) killer. Cisco was then murdered by Vinnie himself. In 2001, Catalina and Miguel took over the Cartel. They used the Cartel to distribute their new drug, SPANK. Catalina also used the Cartel to attempt to kill Claude but they were unsuccessful. Miguel was captured by Claude and Asuka. Miguel gave valuable information to Asuka as a result of her torture. Catalina returned to where Miguel was captured. She killed Miguel and Asuka and kidnapped Claude's girlfriend, Maria. Claude followed them and managed to kill Catalina as well as numerous Cartel members. It is unknown what happened after this in the Cartel. ----------------------------------------------------------- C5. Columbians (Vice City) City: Vice City Turf: Starfish Island, Diaz Mansion Leader: Ricardo Diaz Clothes/ colours: Hawaiian shirts and dark pants. Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Protection, drug dealing In the mid 1980's the Vice City Columbians became extremely powerful and held a great deal of influence over Vice City. They ruled the city. The leader, Ricardo Diaz, had only been in the country for a few years and had a reputation of being a hot head. He would do anything and kill anyone to further the Columbians business. The Columbians were high into importing and selling of drugs. In 1986, however, the Columbian gang interfered in a drug deal between the Vance brothers and Tommy Vercetti. Tommy eventually killed most of the Columbians including the leader, Ricardo Diaz. It is unknown if the gang regrouped or ceased to exist in the following years. Storyline: Ricardo Diaz had learned of Tommy Vercetti's drug deal and sent a team to ambush it. They succeeded. Tommy and Lance set out to find who did this. Tommy eventually started to work for Diaz and discovered that it was Diaz that broke up their deal. Tommy planned Diaz' downfall but Lance jumped the gun and attacked Diaz. He was captured. Tommy broke him out and they stormed the Diaz mansion. They killed all of Diaz' men in the mansion and then killed Diaz himself. It is unknown if some of Diaz' gang survived and restarted or it ended there. ----------------------------------------------------------- C6. Cubans City: Vice City Turf: Little Havana Leader: Umberto Robina Clothes/ colours: Red bandanas, white shirts, blue pants. Vehicles: Cuban Hermes Activity: Drug dealing, smuggling In the mid 1980s, Cuban refugees came to Vice City in increasing numbers as it was the closest American city to Cuba. At some point the began a turf war with Haitian refugees in Vice City. Little Haiti and Little Havana are located right next to each other and the pursuit of new territory may have been a cause. The war was very back and forth with neither side getting the upper hand. However, the Cubans eventually crippled their Haitian rivals when several Cubans destroyed a Haitian factory. It is unknown what the Cubans gang did after this. Storyline: In 1986, the Cubans were in a turf war with the Haitians. The Haitians tried to break up a deal the Cubans were making with Ricardo Diaz and the Columbians but Tommy Vercetti stopped them. Umberto Robina, the leader of the Cubans, hired Tommy after he had killed a man that did some jobs for Umberto. Tommy first had to prove himself to Umberto and did. Tommy then helped the Cubans steal some drugs from the Haitians and then destroy the Haitian factory. It is unknown what happened after this. ----------------------------------------------------------- C7. Da Nang Boys City: San Fierro Turf: Easter Basin Leader: Currently unknown, 1992 - Snakehead Clothes/ colours: Regular street clothes. Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Shipping, importing of illegal immigrants The Da Nang Boys are a Vietnamese gang that moved to San Fierro in the early 1990s. During the move they managed the kill the Blood Feather Triads in an attempt to make their mark and seize territory. However, they were quickly killed off by the Mountain Cloud Boys in retaliation for this attack. It is unknown if the remaining members returned to Vietnam to rejoin the rest of the gang. Storyline: In 1992, the Da Nang Boys begin to attack the Triad gangs in San Fierro. The Triads question why the Da Nang Boys have been on the offensive recently. They find out that the entire group is relocating to San Fierro and looking to seize territory and make their mark. Woozie gets CJ to bug the tanker that the Da Nang Boys operate from to find this information. They also find that the leader, Snakehead, is arriving in San Fierro and will be on the tanker. CJ heads out to the tanker and kills all the Da Nang Boys on the boat including the Snakehead. ----------------------------------------------------------- C8. Diablos City: Liberty City Turf: Hepburn Heights Leader: El Burro Clothes/ colours: Jeans, navy blue jackets, orange or navy blue hats. Vehicles: Diablo Stallion Activity: Car racing, burglary, small time activities. The Diablos are a relatively small gang. They pride themselves on being the top street racers of Liberty City. This causes issues between themselves and the Yardies gang since they also are street racers. The gangs are located on different islands in the city but still place hits and attacks on each other. The Diablos only have small weapons such as handguns and bats. Their other fronts include burglary and possibly some small time drug dealing. The Diablos started making waves in 1998 on Portland Island. By 2001, they controlled Hepburn Heights and the surrounding areas on Portland. Storyline: In 1998, the Diablos attacked the Leone Family in Hepburn Heights in order to gain control of the territory. The Diablos weren't successful, thanks to Toni Cipriani, but after several more attacks they were and the Leone's Family lost Hepburn Heights, possibly forever. In 2001, Claude gets a call from El Burro, the Diablo leader. He wants Claude to work for him but he must prove himself first in a race. Claude wins this race and shortly after he performs some minimal jobs for El Burro before he ceases doing business with them. Later, Claude goes to work for the Yardies and in a job for them guns down numerous Diablos members. It is unknown what happened to them after that. This severely hurt the group and it is unknown if anyone capitalized on this afterwards. ----------------------------------------------------------- C9. Forelli Family City: Liberty City Turf: St. Mark's Bistro Leader: 1986 - Sonny Forelli, Franco Forelli by 1998 Clothes/ colours: Black suits, mafia style Vehicles: Sentinel Activity: Arms dealing, drug trafficking, protection, loan sharking. The Forelli Family is a gang that's power has fluctuated over the years. In the mid 1980s, they had strong influence over much of Liberty City. Attempts at expanding to Vice City would fail and would cause numerous Forrelli Family members deaths. In 1992, they joined with the Leone and Sindacco Families to fund a casino in Las Venturas. That venture would also fail as the Leone's took over control and the casino would eventually be robbed and the Sindacco's would take over from there. In 1998, they were losing influence and numbers in Liberty City. The Leone Family killed off several more members in turf wars involving all three families and the Sicillians. By 2001, the Forelli Family had very little influence in Liberty City and most were killed by the Leone Family. Storyline: In 1986, Sonny Forelli was the head of the Forelli Family. He sent Tommy Vercetti down to Vice City to get things rolling down there with a drug deal. The drug deal was ambushed and the money was lost. Tommy promised he would get Sonny's money back but Tommy began forming his own criminal empire in Vice City as he investigated. The Forelli attempt to take it over failed and Sonny along with several Forelli Family members were killed. In 1992, the Forelli Family had a part in Caligula's Casino in Las Venturas. But the Leone Family took over the casino, which would eventually be robbed by Carl Johnson. By 1998, the Forelli Family had minimal power in Liberty City. They were caught in a war with the Sindacco and the Leone Families thanks to a group of Sicillians. The Leone Family, mainly Toni Cipriani, killed several Forelli Family members in this conflict. By 2001, the Forelli Family had lost a lot of influence in Liberty City. Joey Leone started up some bad blood with them but Claude, working for the Leone Family at the time, took care of most of the Forelli men that opposed him. It is unknown at this time what has become of the Forelli's. ----------------------------------------------------------- C10. Golfers City: Vice City Turf: Leaf Links Golf Course Leader: Unknown Clothes/ colours: Regular golfing clothing. Vehicles: Caddy Activity: Playing golf The golfers are a group in Vice City that are centered around the Leaf Links Golf Course. They consist of elderly men and women, probably retired, in golfing attire. They aren't particularly violent or well armed. However, they will attack with golf clubs and even 9mm pistols if provoked or assaulted. They will only resort to violence if you attack them first or disrupt their golf game. Storyline: Tommy Vercetti encounters this group only a few times while taking over Vice City in 1986. They aren't too hostile but on a few occasions attack him. One particular incident happened after Tommy Vercetti killed a man and several of his guards on the driving range in the golf course area. Several nearby golfers attacked Tommy but he managed to escape them. ----------------------------------------------------------- C11. Grove Street Families City: Los Santos Turf: Grove Street Leader: Carl Johnson (CJ), Sean Johnson (Sweet) Clothes/ colours: Any green clothing. Shirts, pants, bandanas, etc... Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Robbery, land/ property acquisition The Grove Street Families were originally formed somewhere in the 1980s. The Johnson brothers, Sean and Carl, along with Big Smoke and Ryder lead the group. Due to fighting among the family, rival gangs, and drugs the Grove Street Family lost much of its former glory by the early 1990s. In 1992, Carl returned to Los Santos and began helping the Grove Street Families regain territory and influence. However, due to the defection of Big Smoke and Ryder and the murder of several top members, the Grove Street Family was almost wiped out. Later that year, the Grove Street Family returned and was eventually able to wipe out most of the other gangs in Los Santos. They allied themselves with the Varrios Los Aztecas. At present it is unknown whether the family is still in control. Storyline: The downfall of the gang started around 1987 when a mistake by Carl allowed the youngest brother in the family, Brian, to be killed. Carl left Los Santos and went to Liberty City. In 1992, the Johnson's mother was killed and Carl returned. Upon his return he was framed for a cop's murder and found his former gang to have fallen and have split. Carl set out to bring the gang back to life. He managed to get it going but found drugs had a big influence over the former members. Carl looked to be succeeding until the Grove Street Family was betrayed by Big Smoke and Ryder. Several high ranking members were killed in the incident and Sweet was placed in jail. Carl was forced out of Los Santos. While Carl went around other cities and towns in San Andreas he was able to acquire a garage, an airstrip, and become a partial owner of a casino. During this time he killed Ryder and a number of individuals that he thought were involved in the drug operation that cost him his family and gang. He returned to Los Santos with new allies and was able to take back his neighbourhood. Sweet was released from jail. Carl and Sweet got the Grove Street Family together again and they eventually killed Big Smoke and most of the rival gang, the Ballas. It is unknown whether the family was able to maintain their influence in the following years. ----------------------------------------------------------- C12. Haitians City: Vice City Turf: Little Haiti Leader: Auntie Poulet Clothes/ colours: Purple bandanas and shirts, blue pants. Vehicles: Voodoo Activity: Drug dealing, smuggling In the mid 1980's, Haitian refugees came to Vice City in increasing numbers as it was one of the closest American cities to Haiti. At some point they began a turf war with Cuban refugees in Vice City. The war was very back and forth with no one getting the upper hand. The Haitians were able to win several key fights between the gangs. However, the Cubans eventually crippled the Haitians when several Cubans destroyed a Haitian factory. It is unknown what happened to the Haitian gang after this. Storyline: In 1986, the Haitians were involved in a turf war with the Cubans in Vice City. The Cubans were aided by Tommy Vercetti in several missions. However, Auntie Poulet used some special potions and brainwashing to get Tommy to perform a few tasks for the Haitians. He helped them in several fights between the Cubans and Haitians. However, Tommy went back to work for the Cubans and blew up the Haitian factory which may have crippled the Haitian gang. It is unknown what happened after this. Comments: A lot of the dialogue for GTA Vice City referencing the killing of Haitians had to be removed or edited. This was thanks to the Haitian community in an uproar about the negative treatment of their culture/ group. But apparently it is ok to reference to kill Italians, Cubans (although the Cubans also had problems with this), Columbians, French, etc... It's a game people, get over it. ----------------------------------------------------------- C13. Leone Family City: Liberty City Turf: Saint Mark's Leader: Currently Joey Leone or Toni Cipriani, formerly Salvatore Leone Clothes/ colours: Black suits, sunglasses, mafia style Vehicles: Mafia Sentinel Activity: Protection, gambling, prostitution, drug trafficking Little is known about the Leone Family before 1992. Salvatore Leone became the leader some time in the 1980's after a huge power struggle in the family. In 1992, they were a third owner of a casino in Las Venturas called Caligula's Casino. This was thanks to Salvatore lending the Sindacco Family $5 million as an investment for the casino. This was when the Leone Family made their move. They took over the casino and were able to basically wipe out the Sindacco Family. The Forelli Family sent men after the Leone's but they were killed as well. However, the casino was later robbed and it is assumed that the Leone's pulled out of the casino after that incident. The Sindacco's took it over again afterwards. In 1998, the Leone's made further pushes in Liberty City when Toni Cipriani returned to the family. They killed several Sindacco and Forelli Family members during this time in a turf war conflict. They also lost a lot of territory to the Diablos, Triads, and Yakuza. By 2001, the Leone's were in gang wars with the Yakuza, Cartel, and Forelli's. This put a severe strain on their resources. The biggest blow came in 2001 when Salvatore Leone was murdered by former employee, Claude. It is unknown who took over the Leone Family after this. Whether it be Joey Leone, Salvatore's son, or Toni Cipriani, Salvatore's right hand man. Storyline: In 1992, the Leone Family took control of Caligula's Casino from the Sindacco and Forelli Families. Retaliation was met with by Carl Johnson who was working for the Leone's at the time. What Salvatore Leone didn't know is that Carl was planning a heist on the casino and using his access to the casino as a way of gathering information. Carl eventually robbed the casino and it is assumed that the Leone's pulled out of the casino. In 1998, Toni Cipriani returned to Liberty City and the Leone Family after performing a hit on a made man in the city in 1994. Toni helped Salvatore expand the Leone's influence by first killing the mayor of Liberty City. They would also end the Sindacco Family in Liberty City and kill most of the Forelli Family members. However, they lost a lot of territory to the Diablos, Triads, and Yakuza during that time. Toni would eventually become Salvatore's right hand man. By 2001, the Leone's had lost some influence in the city but recruited Claude to do work for them. With his help they were able to eliminate the Triad threat and destroy a huge tanker owned by the Columbian Cartel. Salvatore soon began to believe that Claude had betrayed him. Salvatore almost had Claude killed but Maria, Salvatore's former lover, saved Claude. Claude had to prove to the Yakuza that he was no longer allied with the Leone's and, therefore, killed Salvatore. It is unknown who took over the Leone Family after this point. ----------------------------------------------------------- C14. Mountain Cloud Boys (Triads) City: San Fierro, Las Venturas Turf: Chinatown (SF), Four Dragons Casino (LV) Leader: Wu Zi Mu Clothes/ colours: Black suits Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Casino operating, street racing. In the early 1990's the Mountain Cloud Boys attempted to bring together the Triad groups to unite against a Vietnamese group known as the Da Nang Boys. Located in San Fierro, the Da Nang Boys choose the Triad territory as their new territory. The Da Nang Boys killed the entire Blood Feather Triads before the Mountain Cloud Boys could ally with them. As retaliation, the Mountain Cloud Boys and Carl Johnson managed to kill several Da Nang Boys members in the following attack. The Da Nang Boys were becoming increasingly aggressive because the group was making a full move to San Fierro from China. The Mountain Cloud Boys lead an attack on the Da Nang Boys' tanker out in the bay to the north of San Fierro. Killing all the Da Nang Boys within including their leader, Snakehead, the Mountain Cloud Boys had ended the threat. They soon moved primary operations to Las Venturas in the Four Dragons Casino. Facing pressures from the Mafia the Mountain Cloud Boys, along with Carl Johnson, were able to rob the Mafia's casino and end their threat. It is unknown what their operations after this time were. The Mountain Cloud Boys would become strong allies of the Grove Street Families. Storyline: CJ first meets Wu Zi Mu (Woozie for short) out near Red County. They race and CJ ends up winning. CJ eventually moves to San Fierro after winning a garage. CJ and Woozie team up and face off with the Da Nang Boys after they killed the Blood Feather Triads. CJ then swims out to the Da Nag Boys tanker and planted a bug on their communication devices. Listening in, they found that the entire Da Nang Boys gang is moving to San Fierro. In an attempt to stop them, CJ heads out to the tanker and kills the entire gang, frees some refugees, and kills the Da Nang Boys leader, Snakehead. Afterwards, the Mountain Cloud Boys move their main operations to Las Venturas and open a casino called the Four Dragons. They run into problems when the Mafia give them a hard time. CJ performs several tasks to get the Mafia off the Mountain Cloud Boys back. Eventually, CJ and Woozie set up a heist and steal from the Mafia casino. ----------------------------------------------------------- C15. Purple Nines City: Liberty City Turf: Wichita Gardens Leader: Unknown Clothes/ colours: Jeans, purple jackets. Vehicles: Hoods Rumpo XL Activity: Burglary, robbery, drug dealing. In 2000 or 2001, the Purple Nines started up as a small gang in Wichita Gardens in Liberty City. They mainly dealt with drug dealing of the new drug called SPANK supplied by the Cartel and the Yardies. The Purple Nines were also into burglary and small time robbery. Unfortunately, their turf was originally and currently the turf of the Red Jacks. This started a turf war between the two gangs. The Red Jacks were eventually able to wipe out the Purple Nines and end their short history. Storyline: The Purple Nines started up in 2000 or 2001. They quickly tried to take over the territory of the Red Jacks. The Purple Nines main front was the sale of SPANK. The Red Jacks decided to enlist the help of Claude in 2001 to deal with the Purple Nines problem. They first got him to kill any Purple Nine he saw on the street which quickly decreased their numbers. Afterwards, there wasn't much left for the gang so they decided to have one final battle with the Red Jacks and Claude. Claude and a member of the Red Jacks took on the remaining members of the Purple Nines and were able to finish them off for good. ----------------------------------------------------------- C16. Red Gecko Tong (Triads) City: San Fierro, Las Venturas Turf: Chinatown (SF), Four Dragons Casino (LV) Leader: Ran Fa Li Clothes/ colours: Black suits Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Gambling The Red Gecko Tong's are lead by Ran Fa Li. They are a section of the Triads in San Fierro. In the early 1990's, one of the sects, the Blood Feather Triads, were killed by a Vietnamese gang known as the Da Nang Boys. Ran Fa Li and Wu Zi Mu, leader of the Mountain Cloud Boys, come together to form a union in the Triad gang to fight the Vietnamese gangs. They were successful in destroying the Da Nang Boys thanks to the help of Carl Johnson. Later on, Ran Fa Li became a partial owner of the Four Dragons Casino in Las Venturas with the Mountain Cloud Boys and the Grove Street Families. Storyline: CJ first meets Ran Fa Li when he is introduced by Wu Zi Mu. CJ recovers some packages for Ran Fa Li and helps him to leave the Mountain Cloud Boys betting shop safely by creating a diversion. CJ also ends up killing off the entire Da Nang Boys gang. Later on, Ran Fa Li becomes a partial owner of the Four Dragons Casino in Las Venturas with CJ and Wu Zi Mu. Ran Fa Li, apparently, is ranked higher than Wu Zi Mu in the Triad organization. ----------------------------------------------------------- C17. Red Jacks City: Liberty City Turf: Wichita Gardens Leader: D-Ice Clothes/ colours: Jeans, red jackets. Vehicles: Hoods Rumpo XL Activity: Burglary, robbery, drug dealing. In 2000, the Red Jacks were ruling the neighbourhood of Wichita Gardens in Liberty City. Then in 2000 or 2001 the Purple Nines arrived on the scene and staked their claim on the Wichita Gardens area. The Red Jacks and Purple Nines immediately erupted into a gang war for control of the area. The groups had very similar fronts and activities so the gang war wasn't just based on territory. Both distributed drugs on the streets so the other gang's activities would cost them profit. In 2001, the Red Jacks decided to end the Purple Nines' threat. A series of shoot outs and fist fights broke out and the Red Jacks killed off the Purple Nines gang entirely. Storyline: In 2001, D-Ice, the leader of the Red Jacks, enlisted the help of Claude to eliminate the Purple Nines forever. He first went out to the streets and killed every Purple Nines he saw. This decimated the Purple Nines numbers and they decided to make one final stand against the Red Jacks. Claude and a Red Jack member (D-Ice's brother) fought with the remaining members of the Purple Nines and won. This ended the Purple Nines and established the Red Jacks as the top gang (only gang) in Wichita Gardens. ----------------------------------------------------------- C18. San Fierro Rifa City: San Fierro Turf: Doherty Leader: T-Bone Mendez Clothes/ colours: Any turquoise clothing. Wife-beaters, pants, bandanas, etc... Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Robbery, drug dealing, drug production. Sometime before 1992, the Rifa and the Ballas (Los Santos) allied themselves in a business deal. This was in large part thanks to the Loco Syndicate that the Rifa leader, T-Bone Mendez, was a part of. The Rifa would manufacture drugs in San Fierro and then send them to Los Santos for the Ballas to sell on the streets. Both groups profited from this and it was the main form of income for the gangs. However, in 1992 the factory was destroyed and T-Bone Mendez was killed. It is unknown what happened to the gang after that. Storyline: It isn't known when the Rifa gang was formed. They primarily manufactured and sold drugs to the Ballas gang in Los Santos. They are lead by T-Bone Mendez. In 1992, the Ballas destroyed the Grove Street Families, their biggest rivals. One of the leaders, Carl Johnson, took his revenge on the Ballas and destroyed the Rifa's drug plant so the Ballas could no longer get their supply of drugs. CJ also killed T- Bone Mendez. It is unknown what happened to the Rifa after this incident. ----------------------------------------------------------- C19. Security Guards City: Vice City Turf: Starfish Island, North Point Mall, Leaf Links, Escobar International Airport Leader: Company - Patrol Invest Group (P.I.G.) Clothes/ colours: Dark blue officer uniforms Vehicles: Baggage Handler (airport only) Activity: Protection, smuggling. Security guards are hired by certain companies for protection and security purposes. The main company is called Patrol Invest Group. In the mid 1980's they were in high demand in Vice City because of the huge increase in criminal and drug activities. They will usually shoot, before asking questions, at anyone they feel is up to no good. These security guards are often chased by police officers. This is because the police don't see them as a legitimate security company and because they random shoot at anyone. It is believed that the group uses Escobar International Airport for smuggling activities. Storyline: Tommy Vercetti encounters these guards several times in Vice City in 1986. They are involved in numerous conflicts mainly around the North Point Mall. This is the turf of the Streetwannabe's so the conflict of the two groups is sparked easily. The security guards are often chased by cops for their "shot first, asked questions later" attitudes. It is believed that the Security Guards use Escobar International Airport for smuggling activities. ----------------------------------------------------------- C20. Sindacco Family City: Liberty City, Las Venturas Turf: Portland (LC), Caligula's Casino (LV) Leader: 1992 - Johnny Sindacco, 1998 - Paulie Sindacco Clothes/ colours: Suits, sunglasses, mafia style Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Protection, gambling, prostitution, drug dealing. In the early 1990's, the Sindaccos were one of three Liberty City mafia families that owned shares of Caligula's Casino in Las Venturas. They were able to fund this after a loan of $5 million from the Leone's. Out of the 3 mafia families the Sindacco's were that ones that seem most interested in Las Venturas as a business opportunity. They maintained a warehouse in Las Venturas where they manufactured fake betting chips to distribute at rival casinos to disrupt their business. They also owned a meat factory. However, the Sindacco's time ran out in 1992 when management at the Four Dragons Casino killed almost every member of the Sindacco Family in their meat factory in Las Venturas. In 1998, the Sindacco's had become a shell of their former selves. They would be caught in turf wars with the Leone's and the Forelli's and the Leone's would eventually finish off the Sindacco Family for good in Liberty City. It is believed that the Sindacco's then left Liberty City to operate full time in Las Venturas at the casino. Storyline: In 1992, Johnny Sindacco led the Sindacco Family. He was captured by Woozie and CJ drove him around town tied to the front of the car to get information out of him. Based on this, CJ was able to destroy the Sindacco plastic warehouse and stop their fake chip production. Johnny was released from hospital after the trauma he suffered from CJ. CJ went to meet Johnny and the Sindacco's as a favour to Ken Rosenburg. When Johnny recognized CJ he died of a heart attack. CJ proceeded to kill all the Sindacco Family members in the factory and, basically, destroyed the family. By 1998 they had very little influence in Liberty City but were operatign the casino in Las Venturas still and profiting. The Sindacco's got in a turf war with the Forelli's and the Leone's. Toni Cipriani managed to finish off the Sindaccos for good in Liberty City. This site would later become a Fish Factory for the Triads. During the following years the Triads gained more and more influence on Portland Island. They were never major but had a good front and numerous members. In 2001, the Triads started a war with the Leone Family again by attacking some high ranking members. With the help of Claude, the Leone's were able to kill several high ranking members of the Triads and destroy the Triad Fish Factory. The Triad influence seemed to drop after that and it is unknown what happened with the group afterwards. Storyline: The Triads weren't much until they destroyed a Leone Family facility in 1998. Toni Cipriani was in the building and managed to survive the explosion and the following swarm of Triad members. This could be the cause for his strong hatred of the Triads by 2001. The Triads rebuilt the building as their Fish Factory, a legitimate front for the group. Subsequent attacks on the Leone Family allowed them to gain more territory. In 2001, the Triads started a gang war with the Leone's by first attacking Toni Cipriani. He instructed Claude to take out several Triad leaders and destroy their Fish Factory in Portland. Claude accomplished this and ended the threat from the Triads. It is unknown what happened with the group after this. ----------------------------------------------------------- C23. Varrios Los Aztecas City: Los Santos Turf: El Corona Leader: Cesar Vialpando Clothes/ colours: Any turquoise clothing. Wife-beaters, pants, bandanas, etc... Vehicles: Any low-rider Activity: Street racing, car modifications (car shops) In 1992, the Varrios Los Aztecas were in a turf war with the Vagos. Cesar and CJ created a strong alliance between their two groups but it is unknown if it lasted. ----------------------------------------------------------- C25. Vercetti Gang/ Crime Ring City: Vice City Turf: Various locations, Starfish Island Leader: Tommy Vercetti Clothes/ colours: Hawaiian shirts and navy blue pants. Vehicles: Unknown Activity: Protection, drug trafficking, counterfeiting. In the mid 1980's the Vercetti gang appeared, basically, overnight. After completely getting rid of the Diaz (Columbian) gang, the Vercetti gang took over most of their property. The Vercettis were involved in tons of property acquisition which included such companies as the Print Works, Boatyard, Kauffmann Cabs, Pole Position, and several others. After an attempt to destroy the gang by their former allies, the Forellis, the Vercetti gang settled in to their spot at the top of Vice City. It is unknown what has happened since. It is reported that the Vercetti Gang was still running Vice City in 1992. Storyline: In 1986, after Tommy Vercetti killed Ricardo Diaz and most of his gang, he took over Diaz' mansion. The new 'Vercetti' mansion on Starfish Island became the central base for the Vercetti gang. They purchased several companies as fronts for their activities. Yakuza City: Liberty City Turf: Torrington Leader: 1998 - Kasuki, 2001 - Asuka & Kenji, currently unknown Clothes/ colours: Black suits, black clothing. Vehicles: Yakuza Stinger Activity: Gambling, extortion. In 1998, the Yakuza had an immense arsenal. This included a tank and other military weapons. However, the Leone Family were able to destroy a lot of this weaponry and slow the Yakuza take over in Torrington. Unfortunately for the Leone's, the Yakuza still managed to take over Torrington on Staunton Island. The Yakuza continued their turf war with the Leone Family and started one with the Columbian Cartel. These turf wars continued through 2001. However, the Leone Family would suffer a significant blow from the Yakuza. The Yakuza managed to kill Salvatore Leone, the Don of the family. The Yakuza would suffer as well as both Kenji and his sister Asuka, the leaders of the Yakuza, were killed. Both were killed by the Columbian Cartel. The Cartel would be almost completely wiped out shortly after that. It is unknown what happened afterwards in the Yakuza gang. Storyline: In 1998, the Yakuza was building up their arsenal in Liberty City. However, the leader, Kasuki Kasen, had a very upset wife. They were in an arranged marriage and he prefered the company of men to her (you catch my drift?). She wanted to see her husband dead and his gang destroyed after he paid more attention to it then her. So she hired Toni Cipriani who eventually killed Kasuki and destroyed the arsenal of the gang. Even so, they managed to take Torrington on Staunton Island from the Leone Family. In 2001, the Yakuza were in turf wars with the Leone Family and the Columbian Cartel. Asuka, one of the leaders, would partner up with a former employee of the Leone Family after he was betrayed. This person was Claude. In 2001, the Yardies were allied with the Columbian Cartel to produce and distribute a new drug called SPANK. The Yardies' drug fronts, coffee stands, would be destroyed that year by the Yakuza. The Yardies would suffer another blow later as the Columbian Cartel was almost completely wiped out. It is most likely that the Yardies simply went back to the regular drug dealing and car racing activities. Storyline: In 2001, the Yardies allied with the Columbian Cartel to distribute SPANK across Liberty City. During the same time, Claude worked for them on a few missions to help collect cars and to try and wipe out the Diablos in Portland. Once Claude was done with them he was working for the Yakuza and destroyed the Yardies' front, their coffee stands. Claude would later be responsible for the destruction of the Columbian Cartel and he wiped most of them out as well. It is likely that the Yardies continued on with drug selling and car racing. =========================================================== D. Characters Well we've gone through the gangs and cities of the Grand Theft Auto universe but now we get down to the characters. No two characters in the GTA universe are the same. Different past experiences and circumstances change people's lives and set them down their own path. This section will go through some of the more influential people in Grand Theft Auto. As I have previously stated, if you have any comments or wish I add someone's profile then email me and I will work it out for you. This section contains background information and a few comments from me. ----------------------------------------------------------- D1. 8-Ball Full name: Unknown Nicknames: 8-Ball Affiliation: None specific. Lives in: Liberty City 8-Ball is the man to go to in Liberty City when you need a bomb. He is an explosives expert that operates 3 shops across Liberty City. In 1998, 8-Ball helped out Toni Cipriani on several missions he did for Donald Love. This was probably why he had such strong ties with the Leone Family by GTA III (2001). Prior to the events in GTA III, 8-Ball suffered injuries to both his hands. Although it was believe to be caused by a cop spilling hot oil/ fat on them, GTA Advance reveals that he suffered these injuries from a gang ambush. By 2001, 8-Ball is on his way to jail with his hands bandaged up. However, the Columbian Cartel attack his police escort to break another man out. 8-Ball and a man he just met named Claude (you may know him) used this opportunity to escape. 8-Ball went back to work and introduced Claude to the Leone Family. 8-Ball provide Claude with his explosive expertise on several occasions including joining Claude when he blew up a Cartel tanker. However, the Leone Family betray Claude. Nothing is heard from 8-Ball after this. It is assumed that he carried on regular business operations. Comments: Despite living in Liberty City, 8-Ball has bomb shops located in Vice City and the San Andreas state. He sure does get around. ----------------------------------------------------------- D2. One of the biggest drug dealers in Los Santos. He introduced Big Bear to it and used Big Bear's addiction to keep him as a slave to B Dup. When CJ returns to Los Santos, he and Ryder head over to try and get B Dup and Big Bear back. But B Dup rejects them and Big Bear is simply too addicted. Later, when CJ returns to Los Santos after the destruction of the Grove Street Families, B Dup is still the same but Big Bear turns on him and joins the Grove Street Families again. B Dup continues on his ways. ----------------------------------------------------------- D3. He did anything B Dup wanted. When CJ returns to Los Santos and tries to get him back he is too attached to the drugs to leave B Dup. Once CJ comes back again, Big Bear has denounced his drug ways and leaves B Dup to rejoin the Grove Street Families. Comments: I was hoping to have a mission or two with Big Bear after he gets out of the rehab centre but that storyline never played out. ----------------------------------------------------------- D5. They did it all together. They eventually formed the Grove Street Families. However, CJ left for Liberty City after his brother, Brian, died and things changed. Drugs were introduced to Los Santos and Big Smoke got in on this with Ryder. Big Smoke became a huge drug dealer in Los Santos thanks to the drugs supplied to him from San Fierro. Storyline by Timeline Now that we have a huge background of information about places, gangs, and people in the Grand Theft Auto universe it is time to put it all together. The storyline in each game has several key relations to what happens or what has happened in the other games. It really shows the player that this is one big world and everything is connected in even the slightest way. We are all connected! Freaky. Well, lets get to it. ----------------------------------------------------------- E1. 1971-1983 1971 - Tommy Vercetti worked for the Forelli Mafia Family in Liberty City. He was around 20 years old at this time. He was a regular thug for the family and got things accomplished. Sonny Forelli, the leader of the Forelli Family, asked Tommy to meet someone. Tommy arrives and finds a dozen or so men waiting for him. Tommy has been set up. Tommy manages to kill all the men but is arrested and charges with drug dealing and multiple counts of murder. Sonny Forelli pulls a few strings so he doesn't have to serve life sentences but Tommy still gets 15 years in prison. Tommy earns the name the "Harwood Butcher" for the massacre of all the men. The Forelli's may have pulled some strings but they leave him to root in jail for the next 15 years. ----------------------------------------------------------- E2. 1984 1984 - Victor Vance and Lance Vance start up their drug selling activities in Vice City. Victor Vance does the dirty work for the brothers and helps to establish them in Vice City. (The events of GTA Vice City Stories - coming out Oct. 2006 for PSP). ----------------------------------------------------------- E3. 1985 Mid 1980's (1984 or 1985) - Salvatore is in a power struggle in Sicily ("the old country") over control of the Leone Mafia Family. Salvatore's brother is involved in the battle as well but Salvatore manageds to win and control the family. He comes to Liberty City some time after. 1985 - It can be assumed that sometime in the mid 1980's (1984 or 1985) that CJ, Sweet, Big Smoke, and Ryder started up the Grove Street Families in Los Santos. This is based on the confirmation that the group existed and was pretty well organized by 1987. ----------------------------------------------------------- E4. 1986 The events of GTA Vice City. Tommy Vercetti is released from jail this year after serving 15 years in prison for murder and drug dealing. Tommy has always had his suspicions that he was set up by the Forelli Family but welcomes the opportunity to get back to work. Sonny decides to send Tommy Vercetti down to Vice City in order to keep him out of Liberty City. Sonny worries that Liberty City gangs will remember Tommy from what he has done and if he is seen walking the streets it will be "bad for business". Tommy is sent down to Vice City with $3 million dollars. He is ordered to use the money to purchase some drugs and start up the Forelli operations down there. Tommy arrives in Vice City and meets the Forelli contact in Vice City, Ken Rosenburg. Ken drives Tommy and two Forelli men to a meeting point for the deal. Upon arriving they see a helicopter fly in and a men gets out with two briefcases. These are the Vance brothers (Lance is in the helicopter). Tommy and the Forelli men get out and walk up to him. They look over the merchandise as the man looks over the money. Suddenly, they are shot at killing the two Forelli men and the drug dealer. Tommy jumps in the car with Ken and they take off as the helicopter flies away. While they are driving back Ken is hysterical. He knows that the Forelli's won't be happy that the drugs and money are gone. Tommy tells him to relax and they will start fixing this problem in the morning. Ken stops at his office and enters while Tommy heads off to his new hotel room at the Ocean View. Tommy calls up Sonny to inform him of the situation. Sonny starts off by remembering old times and then asks about the deal. Tommy gives it to Sonny start that the drugs and money are gone. Sonny is furious by this. As Sonny lashes out at Tommy, Tommy guarantees him that he will get the money back and "mail you the dicks of those responsible". Sonny states that he knows Tommy will do this and if it was anyone else they would be dead. The call ends with a pissed of Tommy throwing the phone. In the morning, Tommy visits Ken Rosenburg's law office. Apparently, all the bridges in Vice City have been closed do to an approaching hurricane. Ken indicates that he has been up all night worrying. Tommy tells him to calm down and that they need to get into the loop. Ken offers Tommy his party invitation on board Colonel Juan Garcia Cortez' boat. He is the man that helped set up the deal. Tommy takes the invitation and heads over, stopping at Rafael's clothing store to get more appropriate clothing. Tommy enters the yacht and is welcomed by Colonel Cortez. He shares his distress and apologies for the problems with the deal and states that he has launched a full investigation into what happened. Colonel Cortez' daughter walks up at that moment and he introduces her. Mercedes Cortez takes Tommy around the rest of the party and names off some of the key people. Just as they are talking a short, loud man shows up and congratulates the colonel on his party. Ricardo Diaz is his name and he calls out to Mercedes. She says that she is leaving with Tommy to go back into town. As they walk out Tommy is instructed to take her to the Pole Position Strip Club. He does so and she hopes to see him around. Upon returning to Ken's office, Tommy finds him even more paranoid. Ken asks what he found out but Tommy states, "that there are more criminals in this town then in prison." Tommy wants a lead from the streets. Ken refers him to Kent Paul who is a usual gossip magnet and is always at the Malibu. Tommy meets him there and pushes Kent around for some information. Kent informs him that a chef on Ocean Drive has been acting "pleased with himself" and that Tommy should check him out. Tommy heads over and finds the chef on a cell phone. When the chef is uncooperative, Tommy kills him. Tommy takes his phone and is met by another man. This is Lance Vance. Lance states that they are on the same side and should work together. When Tommy rejects him, three of the chef's friends appear and chase them. They enter Lance's car and make the getaway. Tommy and Lance talk for a bit and Lance drops him off at the Ocean View stating that he'll be watching Tommy. Tommy proceeded back to Ken's office to check on him later on. Ken was still nervous and stated that Tommy had to go and make some jurors change their minds or Sonny Forelli's cousin, Giorgio, would go to jail. Tommy managed to wreck two juror's cars which helped them change their minds. Tommy again headed back to Ken's office to see what he has come up with. Upon entering he finds Ken sitting down with an elderly man named Avery Carrington. Avery needs Tommy's help and in return he will help take care of any of the people giving Tommy trouble. Tommy thinks that is far and listens to Avery talk about a company that he wants out of business. Tommy heads over to the business and starts a riot with a group of striking workers. Tommy enters the facility and destroys their work trucks. Upon finishing this task Tommy is called by Colonel Cortez to come meet him when he can. Tommy also does some more work for Avery including killing a man at the Leaf Links Golf Course in order to obtain some land and destroying a building under construction so he can purchase it and put up his own. Tommy finally decides to head over to Cortez' yacht. When he arrives he is informed by Cortez that one of his men, Gonzalez, may have leaked the information about the drug deal to someone. Cortez states that he has been carrying Gonzalez for years and it is time for Tommy to end it. Tommy travels over to Gonzalez' apartment right away and kills him. Tommy continues to return to Cortez' boat for more missions although he grows tired as he isn't getting closer to his money. Tommy meets a courier at the Washington Mall to pick up some technology. When the French Police show up the courier runs but Tommy chases him down and kills him. Cortez then trusts Tommy with watching over a drug deal between Cortez' friend, Ricardo Diaz, and some Cubans. Lance joins Tommy for this task. They manage to kill the Haitians that try to break up the deal and Diaz is appreciative of Tommy for this. Looking around for Lance after the deal, Tommy can't find him. At the same time, Tommy receives a call from Ricardo thanking him again. Ricardo invites Tommy over to his mansion to help him out with some stuff. Tommy is quick to head over to Diaz' mansion on Starfish Island as he is beginning to suspect that Diaz is the one that broke up Tommy's drug deal. When Tommy arrives at Diaz' mansion, Diaz is pissed off like normal. He asks who Tommy is but remembers and apologizes for being agitated. He states that a dealer of his is taking an extra cut of his profits and Diaz requests that Tommy follows him and finds out where he takes it. Tommy gets to the mans house and chases after him. He enters a car with another man and Tommy is in pursuit. The dealer shoots at Tommy but Tommy misses all the shots. Tommy eventually follows him to a rundown house on Prawn Island. Tommy reports back to Diaz. Diaz says that the house is a fortress at ground level and must be attacked from the sky. Therefore, he assigns Quentin (Lance Vance) to fly you out to the house. As Tommy and Lance go to the helicopter, Tommy finds that Lance has come to the same conclusion about Diaz being the one to ruin their deal. Tommy tells Lance to stay out of it and let him handle it but Lance disagrees. They enter the helicopter and fly over to the island. Tommy takes out most of the men on the roof and adjacent buildings before Lance drops him off. Tommy is left to enter the building, clean out the rest of the men, and obtain the cash. He proceeds in and kills the remaining men and gets the briefcase of cash from the roof. Lance picks Tommy up and they head back to Diaz' mansion (for cookies and milk!). The radio also announces that the hurricane has passed and the bridges are all open again. As Tommy sorts through the information he has been obtaining he receives a call from Colonel Cortez. He tells Tommy to come see him as he has more work for him. Tommy has also received several calls from Sonny Forelli who is growing more and more impatient with Tommy producing no results. Heading over to the colonel's yacht, Tommy knows that the colonel may have some more information for him regarding Tommy's deal. When Tommy arrives he finds that Cortez also believes that Diaz was the one that stole the drugs and money. But Cortez has another matter for you to attend to. He needs you to steal a tank from an amry convoy and bring it to his lock up. Tommy heads over and stops the convoy. He attacks it and takes out most of the soldiers. Tommy gets in the tank and a detonation count down is activated. Knowing that he doesn't have much time he heads over to the hold and Cortez' men disarm the bomb. Wanting to keep up his relationship with Diaz, Tommy heads back and Diaz tasks him with stealing a new boat from the boatyard. It is said to be the fastest boat out there and Diaz needs it. Tommy heads over and encounters some security guards. Tommy kills them, steals the boat, and heads back to Diaz' mansion. Arriving there he goes and talks with Diaz about a dealer that comes to Vice City once a month and sells its cargo to the first boat that reaches it. Tommy heads to Diaz' new boat again. When he arrives he finds Lance waiting for him in the boat. They agree to team up for this mission. As they head to the dealer Lance asks Tommy why they won't finish Diaz off now. Tommy says that, "the more we learn now, the less we have to learn when we take this town over". Lance agrees. Finding the competition to be in abundance, Tommy continues on and gets to the dealer first. He purchases the goods. However, the other buyers won't let them leave alive with the drugs and they chase after him. Lance takes control of the wheel as Tommy fires back at the other dealers on boat, on land, and in a helicopter. They make it back and Tommy delivers the drugs to Diaz. Tommy promptly receives a call from Lance stating that they can and should take out Diaz now. Tommy states that they will do it eventually or they will be dead. Some time later Tommy receives a call from Kent Paul with information about Lance. Tommy heads to the Malibu Club right away as he has a feeling the information isn't good. Arriving at the club, Tommy finds his suspicions to be correct as Lance tried to jump Diaz but was captured instead. He is being held at the junkyard by Diaz men and doesn't have long to live. Tommy leaves in a hurry. He heads over to the junkyard upset at Lance ruining his plan. Arriving there he finds heavy security. Tommy breaks through it and finds Lance in a warehouse at the far end. Tommy is pissed off at Lance for jumping the gun but Lance merely states, "He killed my brother. What do you want me to do? Mow his lawn?" Tommy and Lance leave the junkyard but are chased by more Diaz men. They lose them and Tommy takes Lance to the hospital and tells Lance to meet him outside Diaz' mansion. A while later, Lance joins Tommy outside the walls of Diaz' estate. Lance opens the trunk to his car and reveals some heavy weaponry. They enter Diaz' property and kill all of his men outside. Tommy and Lance enter the mansion and kill the men in there to. Once they reach the central hallway they are confronted by Diaz. He yells at Tommy for betraying him. Tommy and Lance gun down Ricardo Diaz but he isn't dead. They walk over to a crawling Diaz as he yells at Tommy for betraying him and ruining his house. Tommy and Lance decide to finish the job and they both shoot him point blank. They have destroyed the Diaz Gang and now are free to rule Vice City their way. Tommy now heads over to see Colonel Cortez as he says he is in desperate need of his help. Tommy heads in to find Cortez preparing to leave Vice City. Tommy offers to be an extra gun and Cortez is grateful for his help. As they proceed along the river they are chased by some federal agents on boats. the men on Cortez' boat, Tommy included, destroy these ships. But there is another setback. There is a block of ships under the next bridge. They destroy the ships even while being attacked by some helicopters. Cortez thanks Tommy for everything and asks him to watch his daughter, Mercedes. Tommy states that Mercedes can take care of herself but he will watch her. As a parting gift, Cortez offers Tommy his personal launch boat. Tommy heads back to his newly acquired mansion and to begin to setup his empire. Entering the house Tommy meets up with Avery, Rosenburg, and Lance as they discuss the next steps in their new business. Avery suggest real estate while Ken goes over the interior decorating of the mansion. Lance brings up that the businesses in Vice City know that Diaz is dead and they won't pay protection. Tommy has a plan to make them pay. He heads over to the North Point Mall and destroys several of the business displays and setups to make sure they know who they're dealing with. Tommy returns to the mansion with the success of this. The stores will now pay protection. As Tommy returns he finds Lance sitting at the bar. Tommy asks what the problem is and Lance states that a bar is refusing to pay protection but he will handle it. Tommy isn't satisfied with Lance sitting around and decides to take care of it himself. He heads over to Ocean Drive and kills the guards there. Talking with the owner he finds that DC Security has been paid to protect them. Tommy heads there and takes out the security guards. He heads back to his mansion again. Upon arriving he finds Lance yelling and a man named Mike because he was supposed to torch a store in the mall and screwed up the fuses. Lance suggests that they leave as the cops will find out it was them soon enough but Tommy doesn't like that idea. He's worked too hard for what he has. Tommy knows that the police investigation will take time so he proposes that Lance and himself head to the mall and fix the bomb. But first they need police uniforms. Tommy and Lance head out and lure two officers into a garage and take their gear. Grabbing a cop car they head to the mall which is crawling with security and head in. They find the store and fix the bomb. As they run from the store it blows up and they are quickly chased after by the police forces. Tommy and Lance loose the cops and make it back to the mansion. A short time later Tommy receives a call from a very emotional Lance telling Tommy not to treat him like a little kid and cut him a fair slice. Tommy reassures him that he would never stab him in the back but Lance has been screwing up. Tommy tells Lance to take some time off. Building his empire up, Tommy decides to buy some companies as fronts. He purchase the Malibu Club, Kaufmann's Cab, Cherry Popper Ice Cream, the Printworks, and several other companies. When Tommy purchases the club he realizes that he needs some funds in order to restore the club. He decides that he needs to rob the Vice City Bank to "withdrawal" the funds needed. However, Tommy knows that he needs to get a team together. He first breaks an explosive expert, Cam Jones, out of prison. Then he beats a weapons specialist, Phil Cassidy, in a gun shootout to gain his services. Lastly, Tommy beats a driver, Hilary King, in a race to get his services. They head to the bank and pull of the heist but Hilary is killed as they leave. Cam is shot and is it unknown if he survives (in the game he can die or live, it doesn't matter). Tommy and Phil escape and split the money. Tommy wastes no time in celebrating as he performs some tasks for his other businesses in order to ensure their success. His most proud purchase, Printworks, is where Tommy has fond memories of helping his father when he was young at a similar facility. Tommy steals some plates so the printers can start printing money. Tommy has finally secured himself in Vice City. But he has much to do still. He returns to see Avery and perform one finally job for him. Avery introduces Tommy to his new apprentice, Donald Love, and informs Tommy that "nothing brings down real estates prices quicker than a good old-fashioned gang war". He continues by stating that a Haitian leader has been killed, no one is sure if the rival Cubans have done it but Avery wants to make them sure. He suggests that Tommy dresses like a Cuban and crashes the funeral and kills the Haitian leader there. Tommy agrees and heads off the Little Haiti. Upon arrival, Tommy finds heavy security but he breaks through and kills most of the Haitians in the process. Tommy then takes out the leader and leaves Little Haiti. Once Tommy is finished he gets a call from the Cuban leader, Umberto Robina, who wants to meet with him. Tommy heads over but also gets a call from Kent Paul suggesting he come see him at the recording studio. Tommy continues to Umberto's cafe in Little Havana. He arrives and Umberto mocks him at first and asks if he has big "cojones". He suggests that Tommy take out their boat and prove himself. Tommy does this successfully and heads back to Umberto's. When he is heading back, Tommy receives a call from a women named Auntie Poulet, she suggests that he comes and sees her. Returning to the cafe, Umberto requests that Tommy goes and backs up some of his men in Little Haiti. Tommy grabs a car a 3 Cubans and heads over. They fight there way in and steal a Haitian van and take it back to the cafe. Tommy is again requested by Umberto to help him with taking out the Haitians. This time Umberto wants Tommy to disrupt a Haitian deal, steal the cash and drugs, and bring it back to him. Tommy heads over and kills everyone. He grabs the cash and drugs and races back to the cafe chased by cops and Haitians. Tommy decides he needs to break from this and heads over to Auntie Poulet's house. There Tommy seems to be in a fog and under the powers of Auntie Poulet. She tells Tommy that he needs to recover some simple magical powders from around town for him as the Cubans have told the cops they are illegal drugs. Tommy heads around town and acquires these powders and heads back. He enters the house and again forgets what he is doing there. Auntie Poulet wants Tommy to kill Cubans and destroy their supply boats. Tommy doesn't resist killing his allied gang as he is under Auntie Poulet's power. Tommy drives to a van and takes control of some miniature planes and bombs the boats. Later Tommy comes back to Auntie Poulet's house, still in a fog, and she instructs him to use a sniper rifle and help the Haitians beat the Cubans in a street fight. Tommy does so and helps them succeed even after the Cubans bring in reinforcements. Auntie Poulet calls Tommy afterwards and releases him from her hold. Tommy, free again, heads back to Umberto's cafe, completely unaware of what he has done for Auntie Poulet. When Tommy arrives he is met with an angry Umberto who suggests that Tommy is two-faced since the Haitians are laughing at him. Tommy simply says that Umberto is the reason for this but he can help him out. Umberto wants to end the Haitian threat by destroying their drug factory. Tommy gets a Haitian car and heads into the Haitian factory area with the other Cubans. Tommy enters the facility as the Haitians and Cubans fight it out and sets some bombs. Tommy and the Cubans run for their lives as the place explodes in a huge fireball. Umberto hears of the success and tells Tommy that he is a Cuban to them. Tommy has finally settled the unrest in Little Haiti and Havana so he heads to the recording studio to meet Kent Paul. He finds Love Fist there with him and complements the guys on their music. Tommy performs several jobs for them including killing a stalker, who comes back and tries to kill them, getting security for the concert by doing some jobs for the local Biker gang, and driving them to the concert. They are thankful for Tommy's help and Tommy has now gained another ally in the Bikers. Tommy is in full control but soon he is called by Sonny stating that he is coming down to collect. Tommy heads over to the Printworks and finds that some of Sonny's collectors have come there. Tommy heads off to stop the collectors from getting all his facilities. Tommy meets up with them and quickly kills the men. Tommy knows that Sonny will be extremely pissed off now and will be coming down himself. Tommy rushes back to his mansion on Starfish Island and gathers $3 million for Sonny. The money is fake and Tommy hopes that this will make Sonny happy. Sonny arrives and Tommy hands off the money, however, Lance reveals that he is now working for the Forelli's and has told them about the fake money. Lance informs Sonny where the real money is. Tommy runs up to his office to protect his safe. Sonny sends in several men but Tommy takes care of them and chases after Lance who is heading for the roof. Tommy meets Lance there and shows no compassion as he kills Lance and heads back to his office. Tommy meets up with Sonny and his guards. Tommy kills Sonny's guards and then kills Sonny. Tommy watches Sonny die and then realizes that his empire is free. He is left to run Vice City as he sees fit. ----------------------------------------------------------- E5. 1987-1991 1987 - CJ and Sweet are running their successful gang, Grove Street Families, in Los Santos. His name is Officer Jimmy Hernandez. Hernandez is a good cop that wants to help the city of Los Santos from the drug dealing crime that has overtaken it. Hernandez joins Tenpenny and Pulaski and they start to show him the ropes. Tenpenny discusses how sometimes you have to let the little guys go in order to get the bigger ones. He says the only way to fight crime is to control it and Hernandez needs to understand that. Hernandez says he does and they begin to teach him more. In the meantime, the Grove Street Families have fallen apart thanks to the influence of drugs. Big Smoke has tried time and time again to convince Sweet that his stance on drugs is what's killing the family. Big Smoke tries to turn Sweet but it won't work. However, Big Smoke is successful in getting Ryder to see the bigger picture and join him in the drug business. They meet with Tenpenny who comes up with a plan to help end the Grove Street Families. Later, a green Sabre is seen heading towards Grove Street in the night. It heads down the street and suddenly opens fire on the houses. Sweet and everyone else stays out of the way. Sweet comes out blasting but then sees his fallen mother in her doorway. He rushes over but sees she is dead. Kendl comes over but Sweet stops her and hugs her. Sweet calls up CJ in Liberty City and tells him what happened. CJ decides to come home. The next day Officer Tenpenny, Pulaski, and Hernandez have beat the crap out of another cop. Tenpenny identifies him as Officer Pendelbury who is trying to get in his way and stop Tenpenny and the C.R.A.S.H. members. Tenpenny suggests that Hernandez shoots Pendelbury to prove he is willing to do what it takes to save the streets. Hernandez is hesitant but Tenpenny helps him and he shoots Pendelbury. The events of GTA San Andreas CJ is making the long trip home after finding out his mom was killed by a drive-by. Landing in Los Santos International Airport he grabs his bag and a taxi out front. But the taxi only gets part of the way to Grove Street as it is pulled over by a police car. They demand that the passenger, CJ, get out and lie down on the ground. CJ complies and finds that it is Officer Tenpenny, Pulaski, and the new guy, Hernandez. Pulaski tells the cab to take off even though he has CJ's bag in the trunk. Tenpenny takes CJ's money and they enter the car and drive off. CJ asks what Tenpenny wants as he is clean and legit now and only cam back for his mom's funeral. Tenpenny then places the blame of Officer Pendelbury's death on CJ. The officer was gunned down "not 10 minutes ago" and now it is being blamed on CJ. The C.R.A.S.H. team get a transmission over the radio about the murder and are asked to investigate so they toss CJ out of the car and head over there. CJ tells them not to leave him as he is in Ballas' territory. They ignore him and take off. CJ stands for a minute realizing that he is being forced back into all the crap he left 5 years ago. He grabs a bike near him and pedals his way back to his old neighbourhood. Upon arriving, CJ enters his mom's house and is overcome with emotion. He remembers back when Brian was killed and the pain is too much. He finds a picture of his mom and sits at the table and thinks about the situation. Suddenly, a large man runs in holding a baseball bat and threatening him. CJ recognizes him as Big Smoke and after a few seconds Big Smoke remembers, drops the bat, and hugs CJ. He asks how CJ is and CJ simply states that "Na man, it's my mom". Big Smoke says that they should head over to the cemetery for the funeral. Once they arrive at the cemetery they find Sweet, Kendl, and Ryder standing over the grave. CJ walks up and hugs Kendl but Sweet immediately blasts him for missing the funeral and running out 5 years ago. Kendl is tired of listening to this so she heads off to see her boyfriend, a Mexican. Sweet stops her and says she can't date him but she merely walks off. As she does, Sweet states how bad things are and Sweet proceeds to show CJ the graves of dead Grove Street Family members. Big Smoke, Ryder, Sweet, and CJ head back to Big Smoke's car. As they do a group of Ballas pop out and blow up Big Smoke's car with gunfire. The four of them grab bikes and pedal all the way back to Grove Street. Once they arrive the four men split up to do there own thing. A short time later CJ gets a call from Sweet informing him that the groups that formed the Grove Street Families have split and have been fighting among themselves. CJ takes the advice and heads to Ryder's house to find him loading a gun. Ryder states his displeasure for a local pizza place that covered up his graffiti tags on their building. He wants to show them a lesson and asks if CJ wants to come along. CJ does and they drive over. But on the way over Ryder begins to criticize CJ's look and suggests he gets a haircut first. CJ does and they enter the pizza place. CJ orders some food and proceeds to eat but Ryder runs up and attempts to rob the place. The clerk knows it is Ryder and is unimpressed. CJ argues with Ryder and the clerk pulls out a shotgun and chases them. Ryder and CJ hoop back in the car and head back to Grove Street. On the way back Ryder suggests that CJ go see Sweet who is also upset about the graffiti tags. CJ heads over to Sweet and they go for a drive. They head to Ballas turf and spray the Grove Street logos over 6 of the Ballas tags. They head back to Grove Street. CJ and Sweet have things to do so they agree to meet up later. CJ then receives a call from Officer Hernandez warning CJ not to leave town. CJ proceed back in Sweet's house and finds Ryder sitting with Sweet. Sweet is pissed that drugs have destroyed the gang and wants Ryder and CJ to clean things up. They leave the house and head over to see some old friends, Big Bear and B-Dup. Upon arrival they find that B-Dup is now a drug dealer and Big Bear has become a slave to him for drugs. B- Dup tells them to screw off and slams the door. CJ is beginning to see how bad things have become and they decide to take out some drug dealers. They head outside and find that a drug dealer is selling to one of their men. CJ and Ryder head over and kill the dealer. Ryder recognizes the guy and says that he lives in Idlewood. So CJ and Ryder proceed over there and break in on some Ballas and kill them all. Ryder and CJ go back to Grove Street and agree to meet up later. When CJ heads back to Sweet's house he finds the boys leaving and they agree to go eat. CJ drives them to a Cluckin' Bell. On the way they discuss CJ's mom and how a Green Sabre was seen speeding away after. The boys pull up and order the food, however, when they receive it a Ballas' car notices them and shoots at them. They begin to chase the Ballas and shoot back. Big Smoke decides to sit back and eat while the others fight. They eventually kill the Ballas and head back home. On the way back they realize that Big Smoke has eaten all the food. CJ drops the men off at their houses and notes that Big Smoke has moved to Idlewood. After a while CJ heads to Sweet's house and finds Sweet with all the boys. They discuss that the family needs to get some firepower if they are to face off with the Ballas. CJ recommends Emmet while the others tell him they aren't close to Emmet anymore. CJ reinstates that they need to go back to someone that has always been there for them. Big Smoke and CJ head off to Emmet's. When they arrive at Emmet's he is jumping and almost shoots the men. Emmet then realizes what hey are and shows them his stock. Big Smoke notes how crappy the weapons are but they take some handguns and buy them. Upon returning Big Smoke back home, Sweet calls CJ and accuses him of not supporting the family because he hasn't been dressed in their colours. CJ apologizes and heads to the nearest clothing store and sports some green clothing to support the Grove Street Families. CJ heads back to Sweet's house and the men all decide to do a drive-by on some Ballas to show them that Grove Street is back. Heading over to Idlewood they attack a group of Ballas and kill them. The gang head around the corner and kill some more. After that they head to Glen Park and kill another group of Ballas. Out racing the police they head back to Grove Street and agree to meet up later. CJ heads back to Sweet's house and finds no one home but gets a call from Sweet who is pinned down in Seville by a former allied faction, the Seville Boulevard Families. CJ races over and takes out the gunmen and picks up Sweet and his girl. They lose the Seville men and head back to Sweet's house where CJ drops them off. A short time later CJ heads into Sweet's house and finds Sweet argue with Kendl. She's going to go see Cesar and Sweet can't stop her. Kendl leaves and before CJ can say anything Sweet tells him to follow her and see what his problem is. So CJ heads off and gets a low-rider. He heads to the meeting place by Union Station and is challenged to some hydraulics action. CJ wins the challenge and Kendl runs over and congratulates him. Cesar comes over and congratulates him too but CJ becomes protective when he touches Kendl. Kendl tries to calm CJ while Cesar holds back his boys. Cesar and CJ talk and agree to be cool with each other. After Cesar and Kendl leave Cesar calls CJ and ask if he wants to be in some illegal racing. CJ agrees and drives over to Cesar's house. When he arrives Cesar and Kendl lead him to the race. This is a low-rider race and CJ ends up winning it. Afterwards CJ gathers his winnings and heads to Ryder's place. When he arrives Ryder wants to steal some guns from a retired military guy and they head over to his house. CJ sneaks in and grabs the weapons and they drive the truck back to a storage garage. Ryder insults CJ for complaining and they agree to meet up later. The Grove Street Families are starting to gain their influence back thanks to CJ. CJ heads to Ryder's house and when he enters he sees Officer Tenpenny and his men arrive and give CJ and Ryder a hard time. They give the boys an assignment and tell them to head over to a train. CJ and Ryder arrive to find the Vagos are there. They kill the Vagos men when the Ballas show up. Tenpenny must have told every gang in town. Once it is clear CJ hoops on the train and Ryder follows in his car. CJ tosses some boxes to Ryder and gets off the train. They head back to Ryder's. Later on CJ meets Ryder who suggests they get some top grade weapons from the National Guard. CJ is worried but Ryder insults him and he agrees. They head to Ocean Docks and CJ sneaks in the base and kills some of the guards. He opens the fence for Ryder to enter in the truck. They load up the truck while fighting the National Guard. Eventually they are full and drive off. The National Guard gives chase but they lose them and drive the truck to Emmet's for storage. After all this heated action CJ decides he needs a break. He heads to Big Smoke's who says that he needs to go pick up a member of the family in jail. They drive to the police department and out comes Jeffrey. CJ comments on Jeffrey's look at he argues back that his name is OG Loc. Sweet tells him to go to college and get a real life but OG Loc ignores him and wants to head to some gangster's house for payback. OG Loc and CJ go to the house but Sweet and Big Smoke agree to meet up later. When they knock the door OG Loc yells at the person inside who says he is OG Loc's lover. OG Loc states that he took advantage of him when he dropped the soap. The man escapes on his bike and they chase him. Eventually they catch up with him and kill him. CJ laughs at OG Loc who tells to keep it quiet. CJ drives OG Loc to the Burger Shot in Marina and drops him off. CJ heads back to Big Smoke's house. Big Smoke asks CJ to come along as he has to go pick up a Mexican cousin, Mary. When they arrive in East Los Santos CJ figures it out that Mary is another term for weed. Big Smoke asks some Vagos and they insult him. Big Smoke kills one of them with a bat and the other runs. CJ and Big Smoke run after him but Big Smoke can't run too far and cheers CJ on. CJ follows after him and manages to kill the Vagos. Big Smoke and CJ head back to Smoke's house separately and meet up. Big Smoke wants to follow a lead that will get the "deep in the game". They head over to Union Station and find some Vagos make a run for it on top of the train. They get on a bike and drive alongside the train. Big Smoke shoots at the Vagos while CJ avoids the other trains, a destroyed car, and some blocks. Big Smoke kills them and they head back to Big Smoke's house. They agree to meet up later. When CJ comes back to Big Smoke's house, Big Smoke needs to run an errand and they head out. When they arrive at the Atrium Big Smoke tells CJ to wait outside. CJ admires a woman until Big Smoke yells and CJ runs in. CJ enters to a shootout between Big Smoke and some Russians. CJ and Smoke kill them and head outside to find more Russians that they kill. They grab a motorcycle and head off. Big Smoke drives as CJ shoots back at some Russians giving chase in cars, on bikes, and in a truck. They go through the waterways and manage to kill most of the Russians and then head back to Big Smoke's house. CJ remembers OG Loc and heads over to the Burger Shot to see how he is. CJ finds OG Loc cleaning up some floors and mocks him since OG Loc said he was a "Hygiene Technician". OG Loc says that he needs a sound system and heard a great one in a van. They were heading to the beach so CJ heads down there. He finds the van and gets friendly with the owner by showing her some dance moves. CJ gets in the van, takes off with it, and brings it to a lockup. He heads back to the Burger Shot. When he arrives he finds that OG Loc wants him to steal well known rapper, Madd Dogg's, rhyme book. CJ only agrees if it will stop OG Loc from singing the garbage he does. CJ heads to Madd Dogg's mansion in Vinewood and sneaks in. He slowly moves around and kills any guard that gets in his way. CJ grabs the rhyme book and runs out and back to the Burger Shot. When he heads out of the restaurant he gets a call from Officer Tenpenny telling him to come see him. CJ heads back into the Burger Shot. OG Loc is upset. Madd Dogg's manager is on him for stealing the rhymes and CJ is ordered to take care of it. He grabs the manager's car and drives to a location where all the security meet. The manager gets in the car and CJ drives off and losses the security. CJ drives down to the pier and jumps out of the car and sends it into the water since the manager can't swim. When CJ heads back to the Burger Shot to deliver the good news he finds OG Loc quitting and leaving. OG Loc says that this violates his parole and he is going back to jail so he is throwing a party at his house and gets CJ to dress himself up. CJ heads to OG Loc's house and walks in on OG Loc with some bad singing. The boys decide to go outside and get away from the awful singing of OG Loc. Suddenly, another member of the gang comes up on a bike and says that the Ballas are heading to Grove Street. Sweet orders them to block the road. The Ballas arrive and a shootout begins. They manage to kill the Ballas on the street and on the bridge. They head down an alley but the Grove Street men stop them and kill them. They celebrate the victory and all go home to enjoy the night. The next day CJ heads over to a donut shop where he finds Tenpenny with his men. Tenpenny tells CJ that he needs him to kill a gang banger in East Los Santos by burning his house down. He wants no evidence. CJ grabs some Molotov Cocktails and heads over to the apartment complex. He immediately throws the Molotovs in the building he is shot at by some Vagos. He kills them and believes his mission is a success. Suddenly he hears the screams of a women in the building. She is upstairs and trapped. CJ rushes in, grabs a fire extinguisher, and finds her. He leads her out of the building as it collapses. She says her name is Denise Robinson and she lives off of Grove Street. CJ drives her back and they agree to see each other again. CJ gets a call about some drug dealers in Glen Park but heads off to the donut shop to see Officer Tenpenny again. Officer Tenpenny suggests that CJ check out a warehouse in Ocean Docks where the Ballas and Russians are meeting. CJ heads over there and is attacked outside the warehouse but makes his way in. CJ fights off the Ballas and Russians in the building and chases after the Russian leader. He catches up to him and kills him. Tenpenny has no more use for him for now. CJ heads over to the Ammunation that Sweet suggested and picks up some weapons. He heads down to Glen Park and starts up a gang war. Eventually, CJ kills all the Ballas and the Grove Street Families take over the area. The drug dealing traitor attempts to escape but CJ runs him down and kills him. CJ heads over to Sweet's house and Sweet wants them to show that Grove Street is back and perform a major hit on the Ballas at a funeral. CJ and Sweet grab some men and head over to the cemetery. They enter and CJ chases after the leader, Kane. CJ kills him and they take out the rest of the members there. CJ and Sweet leave the area and return to Grove Street. Sweet and CJ know they have put Grove Street on the map with their activities. CJ eventually returns to Sweet's house and meets up with Ryder, Big Smoke, and Sweet. Sweet wants to end the hostility between the families and a meeting is set to take place at Jefferson Hotel. They drive over and Sweet must go in alone as one member per family is allowed. Suddenly, the LSPD show up with helicopters and SWAT and all that to storm the place. Ryder and Big Smoke want to leave but CJ runs in after his brother. He kills the police in there and finds Sweet. They head out and take out a helicopter. Just as they run around the building Ryder and Big Smoke show up. They jump in and CJ is trusted with the shooting. CJ shoots at the cops following them on bikes, cars, and a helicopter. CJ's gun jams and Big Smoke drives them down a small path. They jump out of the car at the last second to watch it fly off on the freeway and cause a huge accident. They agree to split up and meet up later. CJ heads to Sweet's and finds Sweet talking with some men. He states that it is time to take back the town and wants everyone to meet him under the Mulholland Intersection to battle it out with some Ballas. As CJ leaves he gets a call from Cesar who wants CJ to come meet him because he has something to show him. CJ says he needs to go meet up with his brother but Cesar insists that it is important. CJ heads over to Cesar and gets in his car. Cesar tells CJ to watch. He sees two Ballas exit a building and is unimpressed. Cesar tells him to keep watching. Suddenly, Ryder and Big Smoke come out and they roll out the Green Sabre that was seen the night CJ's mom was killed. Officer Tenpenny also walks out. It appears that Big Smoke has sold the family out. CJ realizes that Sweet is walking into a trap and tells Cesar to get Kendl and leave town. CJ races over to the Mulholland Intersection to find a battle going on. Sweet has been hit. CJ takes out the Ballas until the cops arrive and he surrenders. Sweet is arrested and taken to a hospital prison and CJ is grabbed by Tenpenny and his men. CJ gets a bag put over his head and they drive off. Finally reaching a stop CJ has the bag removed and he is in a rural area. This is Angel Pine. CJ is informed of Sweet's situation. CJ is upset at Big Smoke and Tenpenny states that Big Smoke has worked for him for a long time. Officer Tenpenny gives CJ a camera and wants him to kill a snitch hiding on Mount Chiliad and bring back a photo for proof. They kick CJ out of the car and drive off. CJ heads up the mountain to get the mission over with and focus on his family's status. CJ reaches the cabin on the mountain and kills the man along with his security. He heads back down and delivers the pictures to a trailer. CJ then receives a call from Cesar and CJ informs him to get Kendl out of town now. Cesar says that he wants payback for what happened to his gang, Varrios Los Aztecas, but CJ doesn't care right now. Cesar agrees and then tells CJ to go meet his cousin at a diner in Dillimore. When CJ arrives he finds a woman facing off with some of the men. They try to get near her but she cuts one with her knife. She asks CJ what he wants and then promptly leaves with him. She states her name is Catalina. She lists a series of places that she wishes to rob. CJ goes for the closest place which is a gas station also in Dillimore. They try to rob the gas station but the glass is bullet-proof and the doors are locked. Catalina changes the plan and decides to take the tanker. They grab a truck and hook up the tanker while the gas station attendants get in their car and follow. They take care of the attendants and head to Flint County to a truck stop. Catalina speaks with the owner of a truck stop and sells the truck of gas to him. She gives CJ his cut and then leaves. CJ gets a call from someone called The Truth. He is a friend of Officer Tenpenny and wants CJ to meet him in Angel Pine. CJ heads over and finds Officer Tenpenny high (as a kite). Tenpenny introduces CJ to The Truth but he isn't there. Tenpenny is talking with a couch. He then calls Truth in and he meets CJ. Tenpenny tells CJ that Truth will supply him with weed and that CJ will pay him and take it to San Fierro. Tenpenny leaves. The Truth tells CJ about a survivalist farm that has a harvester that he requires. The Truth wants CJ to steal it. CJ heads to the farm and steals it. He is chased by some of the people but he losses them and takes the harvester to The Truth's farm. CJ receives a call from Cesar that he and Kendl are in Angel Pine. CJ heads over and meets up with them. CJ is told that Big Smoke is the main pusher in Los Santos and that he gets shipments from San Fierro twice a week. CJ says he will look out for them. CJ leaves and gets a call from Catalina wondering where he is. CJ decides to meet her at her house. When he gets there she holds him at gun point and indicates her love for CJ. They head off to a bank in order to rob it. Once they enter CJ is in charge of watching the people while Catalina gets the money. One of them manages to hit the alarm. CJ grabs the money from the ATMs and Catalina grabs the money she gets. They head out the back of the building and find the cops waiting for them. CJ and Catalina make their way through the alley and kill the police. They steal 2 police bikes and drive off with the police chasing them. Catalina gets ahead of CJ and gets knocked off her bike by a police cruiser. CJ manages to get there and take out the cops and she hoops on CJ's bike. They head to Catalina's hideout. CJ takes his cut and after leaving Catalina's house he receives a call from Cesar about illegal street racers who come out to the rural areas to avoid the cops. Cesar tells CJ to head over when he gets a chance. CJ then decides to finish up everything with Catalina first. Upon heading back to Catalina's, CJ is brought inside and "punished" for not keeping in touch with her. Afterwards they head to Blueberry to rob a liquor store. When they arrive they find that 4 armed men have already robbed the store. Catalina kills one and they give chase on his ATV. They catch up with the other men and kill them. They grab the money and CJ takes Catalina back to her place. CJ returns a while later after a call from Catalina ordering him to be there. Catalina yells at him for not being loyal and says she wants their relationship to be business from now on. They head out to Montgomery to a betting shop. When they arrive CJ uses some explosives to blow open the safe and grab the money. They grab a car and lose the cops, then head back to Catalina's house where CJ drops her off. CJ has acquired himself a good amount of money and grabs himself a fast car. CJ heads over to Montgomery and arrives at the race line. He is introduced to an Asian man named Wu Zi Mu. He prefers to be called Woozie. They get in their cars and the race starts. CJ manages to beat the competition. After the race Woozie congratulates CJ and gives him his business card in case CJ is in San Fierro sometime. Everyone leaves the area except for CJ. He is confronted by Catalina. She breaks up with CJ and introduced her new man. This is Claude (from GTA 3). She challenges CJ to a race for pink slips. CJ ends up winning the race. Catalina, furious, hands over the deed to a garage in San Fierro. She explains that Claude was "satisfying her" while he raced and that is why he lost. Catalina and Claude head off to Liberty City. CJ now decides that he needs to head to San Fierro but receives a call from The Truth that Tenpenny's stuff is ready and he should come pick it up. CJ decides to go pick up Tenpenny's drugs and head to San Fierro, killing two birds with one stone. He arrives at The Truth's farm and hands over the money to pay for the drugs. CJ inspects the van which is completely full. Suddenly, they hear a helicopter over them. The cops have been tipped off about The Truth's pot farm. The Truth hands CJ a flamethrower and they burn all the plants. The Truth hands CJ a rocket launcher and he takes out the helicopter. They drive to CJ's newly acquired garage in San Fierro. Entering it, CJ feels duped by Catalina as the place is a dump. Kendl and Cesar arrive shortly and Kendl calms CJ down. They need some mechanics. The Truth informs CJ of some friends and they go and pick them up. During these trips The Truth informs CJ to go to certain locations in the city. When he does he finds a dark coloured van leaving. The Truth doesn't explain what it is (some believe that these are Mike Toreno's trucks). After CJ brings the men back to his garage he gets a call from Zero. It appears that Zero's landlord is looking to sell them shop so CJ heads over and buys the building. CJ helps Zero fight off his childhood rival, Berkley, and drive him out of town. A while later, CJ heads back to the garage and receives a call from Officer Tenpenny. He wants CJ to plant some weed in a car to frame him and then call the cops. CJ is unsure about snitching on someone but when Tenpenny informs CJ that it is a DA (District Attorney) CJ is more than willing. He drives over to Vank Hoff Hotel and beats up a valet for his uniform. When the DA arrives CJ takes his car to the garage and plants the drugs. He heads back to the hotel and drives it into the parking lot underground. CJ hurries out as a valet comes in to pick up the car. CJ reports the DA and when he gets his car the cops arrive and arrest him. Arriving back at the garage he finds Kendl upset about the nearby construction workers. They have been treating her like a slut. Cesar wants to kill them but CJ says he will take care of it. So CJ heads to the site and grabs a Dozer. He destroys 6 portable buildings and the Foreman comes out of a Porta Potty. The Foreman sees the destruction and runs back in. CJ drives into the Porta Potty and pushes it into a hole. He gets in the cement truck and buries the Foreman. CJ heads back to the garage. CJ immediately receives a call from Cesar who is following a Balla car heading towards San Fierro for drugs. CJ heads out to meet with Cesar. He meets up with Cesar and they head over to Angel Pine where the meeting is. They get on top of a nearby building and watch some cars pull up. Ryder is the first to arrive as he represents Big Smoke. Another car pulls up and a guy named T-Bone Mendez comes out. He is the leader of the San Fierro Rifa. The next car to pull up contains a man wearing a business suit. They don't know him yet but he is Mike Toreno. Next is a man who looks like a pimp. He is Jizzy B. They are all part of a group called the Loco Syndicate who sell drugs primarily to Big Smoke in Los Santos. Ryder is a representative for Big Smoke. CJ and Cesar head away from the meeting, split up, and agree to meeting back at the garage. CJ arrives back and Woozie shows up. He helps CJ identify the men he photographed. Woozie informs CJ that Jizzy B. helps to set up the deals and acts as a middleman. CJ decides he will enter the syndicate from this point. CJ heads over to Jizzy's Pleasure Dome under the Gant Bridge. Upon arriving he introduces himself to Jizzy by stating that he is new in town and would like some work. After buttering Jizzy up, CJ is tasked with finding out who is killing Jizzy's girls. CJ leaves and Jizzy allows him to take Jizzy's car. CJ drives around and kills some thugs that are beating up his women. He also kills a prostitute and her 'sugar daddy' as she is trying to leave prostitution forever. Once CJ does all this, Jizzy calls him and says he can keep the car as an APB has been posted on it. CJ is now in the syndicate and can start affecting them and finding out more information. CJ heads back to the Pleasure Dome and is introduced to T-Bone Mendez. T-Bone tasks CJ with getting to an ambushed van and getting back all the stolen merchandise. CJ drives over and gives chase on 4 bikers that have stolen the stuff inside. He manages to chase them all down and get back the merchandise. CJ heads back to the Pleasure Dome and drops them off. When he meets back with Jizzy and T- Bone, T-Bone gets a call from Mike Toreno who is in another ambushed van and is trapped. T-Bone and CJ head out in search of Mike. Mike is still on the phone and he directs them to where he is. CJ ends up at the airport and they rescue Mike who is suspicious of CJ but allows him to get them out of there. CJ safely drives them back to the Pleasure Domes. Sometime later CJ arrives back at the Pleasure Dome and Jizzy instructs him to meet his business associate. CJ heads to Xoomer Gas Station and gets in a car. After T-Bone and Mike Toreno question him they say that CJ has to ensure the safety of a shipment. CJ grabs a bike and leads the van to a factory. This is the Loco Syndicate's drug factory which CJ will need to take out eventually. After completing this mission CJ heads back to the garage and is met by Tenpenny and Pulaski. They need you to take care of a reporter and a snitch that is supplying the information. The reporter boards a train headed for Los Santos and CJ follows it. The reporter meets up with his informant on a pier and CJ kills them both. Another job done for Tenpenny. CJ heads back to San Fierro. Now it is time for CJ to make his move. He must kill Jizzy to get his phone and finds out about the drug supply. CJ heads to the Pleasure Dome at night and manages to kill Jizzy B. in a rundown. CJ finds that a deal is going to happen at Pier 69. CJ arrives there and meets Cesar on top of a building. Woozie has agreed to supply some men for this. CJ spots the men and begins to snipe any Rifa or Balla that they meet. T-Bone Mendez and Ryder pull up and don't see the bodies as they are on the roof. Toreno flies in on a helicopter and notices the bodies so he takes off. The Ballas throw some smoke grenades as CJ and Cesar storm the area. They kill T-Bone and Ryder heads off on a boat. CJ follows and manages to kill Ryder. He is deeply upset at having to kill his long-time friend. Cesar speaks with CJ about how he had to kill Ryder. CJ then receives a call from Woozie who informs him that Toreno is at a helipad downtown and loading up some boxes onto a helicopter. He is preparing to leave. CJ heads over immediately, kills the men there, and chases the helicopter. He rockets the helicopter and it explodes, killing Mike Toreno (or so he thinks). CJ now decides that he should meet up with Woozie and help him out after everything he has done for CJ. CJ enters Woozie's betting shop apartment and meets Woozie. He asks CJ to come along as he shows CJ how they take care of business. They leave the apartment and head around the corner to the Blood Feather Triads. Woozie informs CJ that a Vietnamese gang has been giving them trouble and they want to unify the Triad gangs to help protect them. When they arrive at the spot they find the Blood Feather Triads have all been wiped out except for 1 man who informs them it was the Vietnamese gang who did this. Just then, the gang shows up to finish the job. CJ fights them off as Woozie seems to have trouble finding his way. They head back to Woozie's apartment and CJ drops him off. The next day, CJ arrives at Woozie's apartment and is introduced to Ran Fa Li, the leader of the Red Gecko Tong. CJ is informed that the Vietnamese gang is called the Da Nang Boys. Ran Fa Li needs a package retrieved from the airport and Woozie suggests CJ do it. So CJ heads over to the airport and grabs the package but the Da Nang Boys attack him. CJ heads out of the airport, loses them, and drops the package off at Pier 69. When he heads back to Woozie's apartment he finds that Ran Fa Li is now trapped since the Da Nang Boys are watching the building. CJ offers to be a decoy and lead them off. CJ drives an old SUV out to the rural areas and leads them around. Eventually, they catch up the CJ and see who it is and heads back to the apartment but they are too late. Ran Fa Li is safe. CJ goes back to Woozie's apartment to check on him and Woozie informs CJ that he wants CJ to swim out to a Da Nang Boy in the harbour and plant a bug on it so they can listen in on radio discussions. CJ heads over and avoids Da Nang Boys security around the area and plants the bug on the boat. CJ swims back to shore. When he heads back to Woozie's place, some time later, Woozie informs him that the Da Nang Boys are making a full move to San Fierro and that is why they have been more aggressive. CJ agrees to stop their ship coming in. CJ gets in a helicopter with some of Woozie's men and they fly to the ship. They helicopter is shot down, however, by a rocket. CJ is the only one to survive and ends up in the water. He gets on the boat and kills everyone inside. CJ frees some prisoners in a crate and is informed that the leader of the Da Nang Boys, Snakehead, is on the bridge. CJ heads up and kills Snakehead with a sword. CJ leaves the ship and has ended the Da Nang Boys. Upon speaking with Woozie again they agree to destroy the Loco Syndicate's drug factory and end them for good. CJ grabs a car that is rigged by one of Woozie's men and takes it to the factory. CJ breaks into the area and drives the car nears some tanks. He sets the timer and everyone rushes out of the building. It explodes and CJ escapes. This has ended the Loco Syndicate and Big Smoke's supply of drugs from San Fierro. CJ receives a call shortly after by someone masking their voice. They want CJ to come out to their ranch in the desert as they have information on Sweet. CJ, not knowing what to make of this, heads out to the desert to hear this person's information. When he arrives at the ranch, CJ must prove his driving skills in a monster truck. He does and heads back to the ranch. As he sits there, CJ is snuck up on by Mike Toreno who CJ thought was dead. Toreno tells CJ that he is a government agent and needs CJ to perform some jobs for him. Toreno wants CJ to call up Cesar and commandeer a truck in San Fierro. Cesar arrives and it appears he was already called by CJ (Toreno using some sort of voice masking/ changing device). They head onto the freeway and chase down the truck. Cesar jumps on, kicks the driver out, and lets CJ get in. CJ drives it to the designated location for Toreno. Afterwards, CJ heads back to Toreno's house to get the information about his brother. Toreno tells CJ that Sweet is safe and Toreno will keep it that way as long as CJ helps him. So Toreno now wants CJ to go and retrieve a package for him in the desert. CJ drives out to El Castillo del Diablo and drops a flare so that a helicopter can come by and drop off the package. As the helicopter approaches some black helicopters begin to fly around and shoot at the helicopter. CJ takes them down and the package is dropped off for CJ. He grabs it and takes it back to Toreno's ranch. Entering Toreno's ranch again he is now instructed by Mike to go to Verdant Meadows Aircraft Graveyard and purchase it for $1. If they don't accept then Toreno instructs CJ to kill the owners. So CJ heads over to the aircraft graveyard and purchases it. He decides to do it legitimately and buys it for $80,000. Toreno calls him immediately and informs CJ that he will need to learn how to fly for the next series of tasks Toreno has lined up for him. CJ go through Toreno's training with helicopters, planes, and parachutes and passes. CJ has completed the flying school and Toreno quickly tasks CJ with flying supplies to his friend in Angel Pine. CJ completes this task while staying below the radar level so no one gets suspicious. But when CJ returns to the graveyard he finds government officials loading up a cargo plane. CJ thinks they are Toreno's men but Toreno shows up behind him and states that they are from another group. Toreno wants CJ to get on that plane and stop the agents. SO CJ grabs a bike and drives into the pane as it takes off. Killing everyone inside, CJ sets a bomb and then parachutes out. He blows the plane up and then sails back down to Verdant Meadows. A short while later The Truth shows up and wants CJ to come with him. CJ agrees and they head out to the middle of the desert which isn't listed on any map. They arrive and The Truth wants CJ to find a 'black project' and steal it. CJ finds a military base located here and heads down into the facilities under ground. He heads further down as alarms go off around him. CJ finds the 'black project' being developed and it is a jetpack. CJ grabs the pack and heads out of the base and arrives at the graveyard to meet The Truth. Truth thanks CJ and takes the jetpack. When The Truth comes back to Verdant Meadows he flies the jetpack poorly and crashes. Truth says he can't handle the jetpack and wants CJ to use it to fly to a train and steal "whatever they least want you to get". CJ heads over and kills the soldiers on the train. He finds a weird container of green stuff and takes it back to Truth. The Truth is amazed by it and tells CJ he can keep the jetpack. The Truth leaves to aircraft graveyard. Soon after this, CJ is invited by Woozie out to Las Venturas to visit Woozie's new casino, The Four Dragons Casino. CJ heads east to Las Venturas. Upon arriving he finds a frustrated Woozie who is trying to start up a Triad casino in a Mafia run town. They have captured someone trying to destroy their equipment and CJ says he can make the man talk about who he's working for. Woozie's men tie the man to the front of a car and CJ gets in. He drives the car along the strip and scares the man enough to say that he works for the Sindacco's, one of the Mafia families that owns Caligula's Casino. CJ drives him back to the casino and goes and meets with Woozie. They decide that the best way to hurt Caligula's Casino is to rob it. CJ informs Woozie that they need some explosives first and Woozie tells him to go to the quarry. CJ arrives there and heads down to the bottom. He grabs the dynamite as they are preparing to blow it up. The workers run after CJ but he heads out of the quarry and delivers the dynamite to a waiting car. When CJ arrives back at the casino he talks with Woozie. An employee walks in with a fake chip and they agree that the Sindacco's are using their plastic factory to produce the chips. CJ decides to go visit the plastic factory. He drives over and kills the Sindaccos inside. CJ also manages to destroy the plastic machines and heads out before anymore Sindaccos arrive. As CJ makes his way back to the casino he is called by The Truth who needs CJ's help. It appears that The Truth took some guys out for a safari and lost them. So CJ heads out into the desert to the last place The Truth remembers them being and finds Paulie and Maccer. They need to go to a snake farm to find the rest of the band. But when they get there they are confronted by the owners who say that Maccer took advantage of their pig. They escape the owners and head to their friend Rosie's casino. Arriving at Caligula's Casino, CJ enjoys the possibility that he can observe the casino from inside without any suspicion. They head up and meet Ken Rosenburg who manages the casino and CJ is introduced to him. After CJ leaves he now decides to start focusing on the plans for heist on Caligula's Casino. CJ first steals the architectural plans for the building and then gets the security card of a croupier for the casino. Each time he meets with Woozie, more and more people are introduced to the plan much to CJ's disapproval. Next, CJ heads to the dam to set explosives so they can shut down the power to Las Venturas during the heist. Afterwards, CJ and some of Woozie's men steal cop cars and an armoured van in order to pull off the heist. They are now prepared but CJ needs to scope the place out some more so he heads back to Caligula's Casino to visit Rosie, Paulie, and Maccer. Upon arrival he is informed by Rosie that Johnny Sindacco needs to be moved from the hospital because the Forellis are coming to kill him. Johnny is in a shock induced coma (caused by CJ's interrogation) and must be helped. CJ heads to the hospital and finds that Johnny has already been moved. The Forellis have got him. CJ finds the ambulance that took him and steals it. He drives back to the Sindacco factory and Johnny is safe. When CJ gets back to the casino he finds Rosie freaking out. CJ tells him to take charge and inform everyone who is the boss. Rosie and CJ head to the Sindacco factory and Rosie wants CJ to come with him to meet Johnny. CJ is reluctant as he knows Johnny will remember him. Sure enough, Johnny sees CJ and suffers a heart attack and dies. The Sindaccos attack CJ and Rosie but CJ kills all of them in the factory and they leave. CJ drives Rosie back to the casino. When CJ goes to the Four Dragons Casino he finalizes the ownership agreement of the casino with Woozie and Ran Fa Li. He also gets a call from Rosie who informs CJ that Salvatore Leone has come to the casino and taken it over. CJ heads over to meet up with Rosie. When he arrives in the offices CJ meets Salvatore who is getting friendly with a waitress named Maria (yes, that Maria). He states that in Liberty City, CJ worked with Salvatore's son Joey. Salvatore likes that and wants CJ to kill some Forelli assassins flying in from Liberty City. CJ heads to the airport and takes his plane north. He finds the Forelli plane and gets over it. CJ jumps from one plane to the other and kills all the Forellis inside. CJ flies the plane back to Las Venturas. Upon leaving the airport, CJ hears about some commotion by the Royal Casino. He heads over to find Madd Dogg, the rapper CJ stole everything from, drunk and ready to jump off the top of the building. CJ grabs a truck with a bed full of empty boxes and manages to catch Madd Dogg. He takes Madd Dogg to a rehab centre and they agree to talk later. CJ now has to go visit Tenpenny and Pulaski who are in Las Venturas. He talks with them and Tenpenny wants CJ to get him a dossier. CJ heads to Aldea Malvada and attacks a group of FBI agents. CJ kills them and steals the dossier. CJ gets a call from Tenpenny to meet him out in the desert to give him the dossier you got. CJ heads over and feels uneasy about the remote location. He arrives and hands the files to Tenpenny. Tenpenny then hits Hernandez with a shovel in the head as Hernandez has been snitching on him. Tenpenny leaves Pulaski to watch over as CJ digs a grave for two. Just as he finishes Hernandez gets up and attacks Pulaski. CJ escapes but Hernandez is shot to death. Pulaski now makes a run for it but CJ gives chase. Pulaski yells out insults about CJ's family to piss him off but CJ manages to catch up with him and finish Pulaski off. Tenpenny is left on his own now as Pulaski and Hernandez are dead but that doesn't matter as CJ has cleaned up most of the evidence against Tenpenny. CJ receives a call from ken to return to Caligula's Casino. CJ heads over and finds Salvatore who wants CJ to perform a hit in Liberty City. CJ recruits Paulie, Maccer, and Rosie. When they leave the casino he tells them to get out of Las Venturas and he will meet up with them later. CJ heads for the airport and flies to Liberty City. He arrives in Liberty and heads to St. Mark's Bistro in Portland. CJ kills the men in the restaurant and flies back to Las Venturas. When he arrives he gets a call from Sweet who is very depressed and has almost given up on ever getting out. CJ then gets a call from Salvatore informing them to stay away from each other for awhile. Lastly, CJ receives a call from Woozie asking him if the heist is still on. CJ says that they are clear to go and with that he heads to the casino to start the heist. CJ drives to Caligula's Casino in a croupier outfit and heads downstairs to the loading bays. He raises the door and the truck with bikes come in. They fight off mafia men and get the cash. Heading out of the building they avoid the cops and successfully get away with the money. Following the success, CJ gets a call from Salvatore who promises to find him and kill him for what he did. After the heist, CJ heads back to the Four Dragons Casino and meets up with Madd Dogg. He wants his house back but he sold it to a dealer for some drugs. CJ takes some of Woozie's men and agree to get it back. CJ and the men get in a plane and fly over the mansion. They parachute out and land on the roof, confronted by Vagos members. Killing this threat, more men come down and they proceed inside. CJ finds the drug dealer, Big Poppa, and chases him. He eventually kills Big Poppa and reclaims the home. After settling into the house, Toreno shows up and needs CJ's help. Toreno wants CJ to get in the aircraft carrier in San Fierro bay and steal a jet. CJ swims in, disables the SAMs (Surface to Air Missiles) and steals the jet. He is now instructed with destroying some spy ships. CJ flies over and blows them up. CJ now wants to know where Toreno wants the jet and Toreno ignores the question and pretends he doesn't know anything about the jet. CJ decides to store it at Verdant Meadows for future use. CJ gets back to Madd Dogg's house to meet up with everyone. Toreno shows up again and CJ pulls a gun on him. Toreno says he has one last task and then he is free. Toreno tells CJ to pick up the phone and Sweet is on the other line. He is being freed and doesn't know why. Toreno says that he only wants CJ to go pick up his brother. So CJ heads to the police station and picks up Sweet. CJ proudly tells Sweet about all his new businesses but Sweet is upset he has left the hood to rot. CJ drives Sweet over to show Sweet how bad the hood is. They arrive and find drug dealers all around and people breaking into the houses and stealing stuff. CJ is ordered to clean the neighbourhood up. CJ kills the drug dealers and then reclaims the territory from the Ballas. CJ now starts gathering more territory again and providing the Grove Street Families with a nice section of the city to work with. CJ goes back to the mansion and finds Madd Dogg watching OG Loc. He realizes that OG Loc's rhymes are his that were stolen (CJ was the one who stole them). CJ and Madd Dogg agree to go break up his party and get the book back. When they arrive, OG Loc takes off and they chase him. He gets to his recording studio and Madd Dogg gets his rhymes book back. OG Loc is fired by the studio. CJ agrees to meet up with Madd Dogg later and heads to Grove Street. He walks in on Sweet about to be given some drugs by a whore. CJ gets her away from Sweet who states that he just wanted to know what everyone is going crazy for. The whore says that B Dup won't like this and CJ says he'll take care of B Dup right now. CJ drives over to B Dup's apartment but finds he has moved to Glen Park. CJ heads over there and kills the Ballas. He and Sweet confront B Dup who attempts to get Big Bear to take care of them. Big Bear denounces B Dup and joins the Grove Street again. They leave. When they meet up Sweet insults CJ for forgetting where he came from and they head over to Idlewood to claim more territory. They are successful and head back. Awhile later they all meet at Madd Dogg's mansion. Watching the TV they find that Tenpenny has been caught and is facing charges. They watch the court proceedings and then it is announced that all charges are being dropped do to a lack of evidence (thanks to CJ's work). Unfortunately, it appears that Tenpenny has upset a lot of people as the entire city begins to riot. CJ and Sweet head to Grove Street and secure the hood. Cesar arrives later and needs CJ's help to get back Varrios Los Aztecas' territory. CJ rejects at first saying that he has to help his brother but Sweet tells CJ to go help him. CJ grabs some Grove Street members and heads over to Unity Station with them and Cesar. They meet with Cesar's friends and storm the apartment complexes. They head through and kill all the Vagos there. Heading deeper they find more Vagos and kill them. Cesar thanks CJ and secures the area while CJ heads out. Sweet calls CJ and tells him they have found where Big Smoke is hiding. CJ drives to Sweet's house and picks him up. They head over to East Los Santos to an apartment complex. CJ says he must do this alone for Sweet, Brian, and the whole family. Sweet agrees and wishes him luck. CJ grabs a SWAT tank and rams the front of the building for access. Heading up the stairs he goes through the drug factory, the lounge, a security area, and arrives at Big Smoke's room on the 4th floor. Big Smoke is playing video games and when confronted by CJ he says that he wants to be remembered and that is why he did it. Big Smoke pulls a gun on CJ and they exchange fire. CJ manages to kill Big Smoke and then sits and feels remorse for what he did. Tenpenny comes up behind him and gets him to load a briefcase with money. Tenpenny says that he merely used Big Smoke and now has some new young officers with him that he needs to turn to his side. CJ tricks Tenpenny and ducks behind a couch. Tenpenny runs off and destroys some of the equipment downstairs to set the building on fire. CJ heads out to find Tenpenny drive off in a fire truck and Sweet jump on. CJ follows close behind and catches Sweet when he falls off. They switch seats and CJ fights off the police as they chase Tenpenny. Tenpenny eventually drives the truck off a bridge and lands in Grove Street. Tenpenny crawls out dying and insults CJ. CJ is about to shoot Tenpenny but is stopped as he will just die from the accident. The Truth informs CJ that he beat the system and they all head inside. CJ looks at Tenpenny one last time and says, "See you around............officer". CJ and the others go to his mom's house and celebrate. Madd Dogg walks in and announces he has got his first gold record. CJ heads out of the house to go check out the neighbourhood. ----------------------------------------------------------- E7. 1993-1997 1992-1993 - Salvatore Leone pulls out of Caligula's Casino after the huge financial loss caused by CJ's heist on it. The Sindacco Family moves its main base of operations to Las Venturas and take over the casino. They put it back on track and fund their operations in Liberty City from the revenues in Caligula's Casino. 1993-1997 - Catalina and Claude have left San Andreas for Liberty City but they don't go their directly. They travel around the United States robbing banks, stores, and other companies. They become a type of Bonny and Clyde. It is believed they went to Liberty City much later. 1994 - Toni Cipriani is a high ranked member in the Leone Family. He is instructed to kill a made man for the family. He accomplishes this task and is forced to leave Liberty City for several years until everything calms down. He leaves in a hurry as well and doesn't get a chance to say goodbye to his mom. ----------------------------------------------------------- E8. 1998 The events of GTA Liberty City Stories After 4 long years, Toni Cipriani has returned to Liberty City. He killed a made man but is back now. He arrives in Portland on a bus and gets off. Toni makes a quick call and gets in a taxi. He arrives at Salvatore Leone's mansion and finds Salvatore with Vincenzo or 'Luck' as Salvatore calls him. It appears that Vincenzo is second in command now as he has moved up the ladder as Toni has been away. Salvatore wants Toni to work for Vincenzo but Toni disagrees and is angry to be put under Vincenzo after all he did. Salvatore asks Toni if he questions his authority and Toni retracts his comments. Vincenzo and Toni head out to show Toni his new place that Vincenzo got him. They head over and then Vincenzo wants Toni to drive him to his place in Atlantic Quays. Toni does so and Vincenzo tells him to come by later. Toni ends up driving around town and getting used to Liberty City again and then heads to Vincenzo's place the next day. Toni doesn't give Vincenzo any respect as he is young and cocky and Toni should be giving him orders. When Toni arrives Vincenzo orders him to go find out what is wrong with one of his dealers. He is bringing nothing in. Toni meets the dealer and he says that he is sick and will work tomorrow. Toni insists that he works now and takes the dealer to Chinatown. The dealer says that the Sindacco Family is dealing on Leone turf but Toni doesn't believe him. He drops the dealer off and heads back to Vincenzo's. It appears that the dealer Toni dropped off has been killed by the Sindacco's he warned Toni about. Toni heads around town and takes out the Sindacco dealers for this and ends their operations. Toni heads back to Vincenzo's place and is ordered to kill a Sindacco leader and take his car. Toni heads over to the construction site in Hepburn Heights and kills all the Sindaccos there. Toni grabs the leaders car and resprays it. A man named JD calls and says for Toni to keep the car as a down payment for the money he owes Toni. Toni doesn't mind keeping the car as it is a Hellenbacht GT (a fast car in the GTA world). So, Toni heads back to Vincenzo's and finds him irate. Apparently, some of his men were robbing a gas station and got pinned down by the police. Vincenzo demands that Toni goes and grabs the men. He heads over to the gas station and breaks through the police barricades. He grabs the three men and escapes with them and loses the police. Toni takes the men back to Vincenzo's. When Toni arrives Vincenzo wants him to grab a car for him. It has drugs in it and wants Toni to get it first before the cops know about it. Toni heads over to the docks area and gets in the car. As soon as he does the cops converge on him. Vincenzo has set Toni up. Toni drives off and gets the car resprayed to avoid cop attention. Toni calls up Vincenzo and yells but Vincenzo doesn't really care and Toni decides to quit Vincenzo's employ. Toni takes Vincenzo's car to the crushers as punishment. Toni is now going to do his own thing for the Leone Family as he heads to Paulie's Revue Bar to talk with JD O'Toole. Toni knocks on the back entrance door and JD walks out in a gimp suit with holes for the nipples and butt cheeks (that is the scariest thing in the GTA universe). Toni demands his money but JD doesn't have it. He offers to go with Toni to all his girls and pick it up from them. JD changes and they drive around town and grab the cash from the women. Toni drives JD back to his apartment and agrees to see him later. When Toni returns he finds a panicking JD. The cops are coming to raid the place and Salvatore is inside. Toni grabs a car and drives Salvatore away from the bar and home. Salvatore wants Toni to come back later. Toni first heads back to Paulie's Revue Bar. JD informs Toni that the Sindacco's are looking to destroy the Leone casino in Portland. Toni heads over and protects the bar from the Sindacco men. Toni goes back to Paulie's Revue Bar and JD now suggests that he pays the Sindaccos back for what they tried to do. Toni takes a car to 8- Ball's and gets it rigged. He brings it to the Sindacco casino and blows the car up which destroys the Sindacco casino. Afterwards, Toni receives a call from his mother. She demands to see him so Toni heads over to here cafe. Ma Cipriani begins to insult Toni and ask him why he isn't like Giovanni Casa. Toni suggests that he is a pervert but she denies it. So Toni decides to tail Casa and take pictures of him in his perverted activities. Toni parks in Chinatown and follows Casa as he picks up 2 hookers and goes to Callahan Point. The hookers get out of the car and Casa changes into a big baby costume. Toni takes a picture as the hookers and Casa run off. Toni delivers the pictures to his mom for her to see. Before she looks at them Toni's mom wishes Toni wasn't so afraid of Triads. He decides to prove himself and heads to Chinatown and kills two groups of Triads. When Toni heads back his mom is complaining about a guy named Sucho. She wants Toni to beat him in a race and then kill him. So Toni heads to the start of the race and gets in position. He wins the race and then chases Sucho down and kills him. He'll do anything to make his mom happy. So Toni heads back to his mom's restaurant and she begins to yell at him and call him a pervert for taking the pictures of Casa. Toni is furious and decides that Casa needs to go. Toni heads over to Casa's deli and picks him up. Casa questions where they are going but Toni says nothing. Toni drives them to the Sawmill in Atlantic Quays and they enter it. Toni then tells Casa that it is over and grabs an axe. Toni chases Casa and kills him. Toni uses the axe to chop Casa's body up and then returns to Casa's deli and sells the meat to the clerk there who worries about Casa finding out (I doubt it since the meat is Casa). Toni is now free of the shadow of Casa. He returns to the restaurant and his mom is upset. She whispers something on the phone about Toni being there and then announces that she has called a hit on Toni. Ma runs out of the restaurant and leaves in a car as the hitmen show up. Toni takes care of them all (at this point the hitmen will randomly attack the player in the game at any time). Toni now only has one place to go....Salvatore's. So he heads up and finds Salvatore who wants Toni to take some money to Jane Hopper, the head of the union that is striking down on the ports. Toni proceeds down and finds Ms. Hopper. He is informed that she can't be bought and is then surrounded by union workers. Toni manages to escape this gang beating and leaves the docks. He returns to Salvatore's place to inform him of the situation. Salvatore suggests that Toni picks up some whores from around town and supply them to the union workers to get them on the Leone side. Toni brings 6 of them over and announces who is supplying the girls to help the workers change their minds. Toni has influenced the union workers now but the Leone's can't get their shipments yet. Toni returns to Salvatore's house and is orders to go and beat up the union leaders to help them change their minds (the leaders below Ms. Hopper). So Toni heads around town and finds the leader. He beats the crap out of all three of them and they promptly change their opinion. When Toni heads back, Salvatore has a plan to end this problem. Toni is ordered to head to the radio station building and beat up Ms. Hopper's limo driver. Then he will take Ms. Hopper on a ride to change her mind. So Toni heads out and does just that. Ms. Hopper agrees to Salvatore's terms. During the meetings with Salvatore, Toni has met up with Salvatore's wife, Maria, again. Maria wanted Toni to meet her at her apartment but Toni has been busy with activities for Salvatore. Now that Toni's time is freed up he heads over and finds Maria wants to go shopping. Toni agrees to take her only because she is Salvatore's girl. They heads out but Maria steals from every store she goes into and Toni losses the police and drives her home. When he returns to her apartment she needs him to drive her to go get some drugs. When they arrive at the dealers in Chinatown she is kidnapped by them. Toni rams their car several times until they get out and Toni kills them. Maria is thankful for Toni's help but Toni is growing annoyed with her. He drives her home. But it isn't long before Maria needs Toni again. Toni returns to her apartment and finds a letter. It's from Maria and states that she has put herself up as a prize in a bike race. Toni must rescue her so he grabs a bike and heads for the race. Toni manages to win and save Maria but she ends up running off with some biker. Toni is tired of covering up for Maria. But she needs him once again and he heads to her apartment for Salvatore's sake. When he arrives he finds Maria bloody and bruised. He demands to know who did it and she says it was Wayne, the biker she ran off with at the end of the race. Toni storms out and we get the famous line in all the ads, "I love you Toni Cipriani!". Toni heads into Chinatown and finds Wayne with his biker friends. Wayne states that Maria is a slut and deserved to beating. Toni goes for Wayne but he rides off on his bike. Toni follows on a bike and kills Wayne. He heads back to Maria's to tell her the news and finds her high as a kite. She has overdosed on drugs and needs a counter drug called ZAP to balance it out. Toni asks her where she left this ZAP but she can't remember. They head out to various locations and each time she says it is somewhere else. She finally remembers that it's at Salvatore's place and they head there and he drops Maria off. As Maria gets fixed up with her ZAP, Toni meets with Salvatore. Salvatore wants Toni to pick up some "stuff" at the docks for him. Toni grabs some men and heads over to meet with Miguel and some Columbian Cartel members. As the deal is happening some cops arrive and Toni yells at the Columbians for bringing them. A shootout happens between the three sides. Toni manages to get in the Patriot with the stuff and drives off. He loses the cops and drops it off and a predetermined location. Toni gets a call from JD who tells him to hurry over to Paulie's Revue Bar. So Toni heads over and finds JD in a panic. He mumbles about the FBI and cops and such until Toni gets it out of him. The Sindaccos have kidnapped Salvatore. JD spots one of the men and Toni follows him into Chinatown. Salvatore is in a trunk and they are going to take the car to the crushers. Toni kills the men there and follows the car as it drives off. He stops them from reaching the crusher and takes Salvatore home. Salvatore is not in a good mood. Toni returns to JD's to inform him but JD has found out that Salvatore is coming down and is going to take this part of town. He orders Toni to go up to the roof and protect Salvatore. Salvatore comes down the street with some men. Toni kills any Sindacco around and then Salvatore storms Paulie's Revue Bar and kills all inside. The place is now under Leone control and it has a "Under New Management" sign up (it will become Sex Club 7 owned by Luigi by the time GTA3 happens). Toni meets up with JD who is extremely happy about being able to manage the place on his own now. But he informs Toni that Salvatore is meeting with a man named Massimo and he isn't sure about Massimo's loyalty. So Toni heads to Salvatore's mansion and finds Massimo leave in a helicopter. Toni follows it and it lands in Hepburn Heights. Massimo meets with some Diablos and offers them Hepburn Heights if they continue their attacks on the Leone Family turf. The helicopter takes off again and Toni follows. Massimo meets on a roof with some Triads in Chinatown but Toni can't hear what they discuss. A Triad spots Toni so Massimo takes off and Toni kills the Triads. Toni gets news from JD to get dressed up. Toni arrives at JD's place and finds JD in a suit and very happy. It is time for JD to be 'made' in the Leone Family. They head out to the road and find Mickey there with a car waiting. Toni gets in the driver seat and takes them over to the area near the crusher but the Sindaccos start following. Toni kills them and continues to the crusher. Once there, Mickey shoots JD in the back of the head. Apparently they would never trust JD after he turned on his Sindacco leaders. The car is now leaking blood so Toni drives it through town, drops Mickey off, and dumps the car in the water. Suddenly, Toni gets a call from Vincenzo who apologizes for how he has acted. He wants Toni to meet him at his place. Toni heads over to Atlantic Quays and doesn't find Vincenzo at his place there. Toni calls Vincenzo who says that a shipment came in and he needs Toni's help. Toni heads to the boat and goes down into the cargo area but someone closes the door and Toni is trapped. Several men with hockey masks and chainsaws chase after Toni and try to kill him. Toni manages to kill him and then Vincenzo appears. Toni has had enough and kills Vincenzo. Just as Toni celebrates his victory he gets a call from Salvatore that there is a big problem so Toni heads to Salvatore's place. When he arrives Salvatore informs him that the Diablos have attacked them in Hepburn Heights and he needs Toni down there. Toni heads down and finds the Leone's out numbered. Toni manages to turn the tide and the Leone's win the war. Salvatore calls and asks what happened. Toni informs him that they won but lost a lot of men and he doesn't think they will be able to hold off the Diablos from taking over that part of town (by GTA3 the Diablos control Hepburn Heights). Salvatore denies Toni's comments and says that he doesn't lose any turf. Toni heads back to Salvatore's place and is told to pick up some cash from a warehouse in Atlantic Quays. Toni heads over and is allowed in the gates. Just as he enters some Triads set a bomb and destroy the building. The remaining Triads and Leones fight as Toni collects the money and kills the Triads. He leaves the building area (this building is the Triad Fish Factory in GTA3). Toni heads back to Salvatore's place and drops off the cash. But Salvatore needs him right away as well. Salvatore needs to speak with the mayor who is on Staunton Island. The bridge isn't finished and the ferries aren't running but Salvatore needs to get there and wants Toni to head for the ferries. So they get in a car and head for the ferries but find the cops all over the place. They quickly turn around and head for the bridge. Toni goes on and floors the gas while the cops follow. They leap the bridge and just make it across, much to Salvatore's delight and appreciation. They head to a safehouse to lay low for a short time. It isn't long, however, before Salvatore takes action. He wants Toni to kill Mayor R.C. Hole who is getting on Salvatore's nerves. Toni heads out to the park where the mayor is jogging and kills him. The security and police support is weak and Toni easily escapes after grabbing the mayor's phone which he delivers to Salvatore. When Toni arrives back at his apartment he finds Mickey waiting. Mickey and Toni are going to take a ride. Toni is nervous (since Mickey only appeared this way to "make" JD) but tries to act cool as they drive. Toni enters an alley and meets Salvatore who says that Toni is being 'made' today. They enter a building and Toni exits a while later. Ma calls him several hours afterwards and congratulates Toni. She has even called off the hit on him. Toni is relieved and happy about his situation but knows that more work needs to be done. He meets up with Salvatore who wants to kidnap the mayor's assistant and find out who the mayor was working for. They grab the assistant and put him on a boat. But the police notice and chase after them. Toni grabs a gun and destroys the boats and a helicopter following. Toni gets off the boat and Salvatore tells him to meet up with a businessman that could be a candidate for the mayor's role. Toni agrees to meet him. So Toni heads over and finds Donald Love. He is a strange man and requests that Toni get a hearse for him. So Toni goes out and finds the hearse Donald specified and brings it back. Donald then asks Toni to steer the votes by campaigning and destroying rival van. Toni accomplishes this and is next tasked with killing some groups that are trying to campaign for the rival competitor, O'Donovan. Toni kills them all as well. When Toni returns to Donald's place he has found that the Forellis are backing O'Donovan and have a warehouse to produce the ballots and machines. Toni goes over and destroys all the ballots and the machines to end this rigging. Toni is next tasked with protecting Donald as he heads for a meeting. The Forellis do attack but Toni kills them. Donald then wants Toni to steal the votes from a van making its rounds and Toni does while replacing them with Donald Love votes. Toni and Love agree to stay apart for awhile to ensure that no connection is made. During this time, Toni received a call to come to the church. He heads over and finds the priest there wants him to do some tasks for him. He wants Toni first to steal an FBI car and get some reports from an informant who wants to meet the FBI. Toni gets the car, steals the notes and brings them back for the father. Toni is then told to go steal back some diamonds from some thieves. Toni kills all the thieves and reacquires the diamonds. He brings them back to the church. As Toni enters he is next asked to cause as much chaos and destruction as possible to show the sinners their evil ways. Toni grabs a fire truck and goes on a rampage of destruction and killing. When Toni returns later on he is instructed to kill three celebrities who the priest claims are "false idols". Toni goes out and manages to kill all of them. Toni heads back to the church to tell the priest and the priest runs off in a frenzy thanking Toni for all his work. It seems he wasn't a priest after all. Toni doesn't care about this turn of events as he is called by Salvatore who needs his services again. Toni gets to a payphone and Salvatore calls saying that the Forellis and Sindaccos were having a meeting and Salvatore went to spy on it but they saw him and now he is pinned down. Toni heads down an alley and kills all the men there. He finds Salvatore and they leave in a limo. Toni drives Salvatore back to the safehouse and they agree to meet up later. Salvatore calls Toni and tells him to get to the phone at the Liberty Campus. Toni heads over and Salvatore says he has a surprise for him. Apparently, Salvatore rigged Paulie Sindacco's car. Salvatore wants Toni to use the remote controls and kill every Sindacco and Forelli at a meeting with Paulie's car. Toni gets in a black van with the controls and takes control of the car. He runs down all the men while Paulie is helpless inside. The men have all been killed and Paulie is no to blame. Toni heads back to see Salvatore after some time and is instructed to kill Franco Forelli. Apparently he knows what the Leone's did to Paulie's car. Toni heads to the docks and gets in a boat and chases Franco. They go back onto land and eventually Toni kills Franco. Toni receives a call from Salvatore to meet an insider of theirs in the police department. He is over in Riverside. Toni heads down by the water and meets Leon McAffrey. He wants Toni to join him as they go take out several Sindaccos. They head out in Leon's car and kill all the Sindaccos they can find. But the Sindaccos decide to chase them on bikes, in cars and a helicopter. Toni manages to kill them all and then gets dropped off. A short time later Toni heads back to Riverside and meets Leon. Apparently the Yardies want the Forelli territory in Newport so Leon wants to help them to pay off a debt. Toni goes over to a Forelli hangout and steals a bike. The Forellis give chase with numerous bikes. Toni leads them over to the north side of the hospital and the Forellis are all killed. Toni returns to Leon and is introduced to Leon's new partner Ray Machowski (who is a good cop now but a bent cop in GTA3). Leon wants Toni to take a Katana and kill 20 Forellis. Toni does this. The Sindacco and Forelli numbers are increasing substantially and the Leones are gaining more territory thanks to this. When Toni returns to Leon he wants Toni to help the Yardies keep their territory in Newport. There is a big gang war going on. So Toni rushes over and kills the Sindaccos. The Yardie leader says that one of his boys has been shot and he wants Toni to wait with him while they get an ambulance. Toni stays with the man as more Sindaccos attack and Toni fights them off. Toni manages to get the injured man out to the ambulance and the Yardies have won. Toni proceeds to Leon's location and is now informed that the Forellis have some armoured trucks. Toni heads out, finds them, and destroys the trucks. Once Toni is done he gets a call from Donald Love so Toni heads over. There he finds Donald panicking as someone has evidence of the rigging and his connect to the Leones. Donald wants Toni to meet his man that has been following the transportation van. Toni heads over to Newport and gets in the car with the man. He tells Toni to proceed along the docks and he will find the men. Toni goes in and kills everyone there and takes the van. Toni proceeds back to Donald's place and stores the van in a garage. When Toni meets Donald he also finds out that Donald has lost the election. He has lost $20 million and blames Toni. Toni could care less. Salvatore calls Toni shortly afterwards. He has been arrested and put in jail. Toni needs to come see him on Shoreside Vale. Toni goes over and dresses like a lawyer to not look suspicious. He goes into a meeting room with Salvatore who calls him Lionel. Salvatore believes that the Sindaccos and Forellis have conspired against him. He wants revenge. Toni heads out and gets some Hoods to help him. He kills a number of Forellis around the island and heads back to see Salvatore the next day. Salvatore now wants Paulie Sindacco dead. Toni heads down to the dam and Paulie recognizes him. Paulie takes off in a boat but Toni rockets his boat and kills Paulie. When Toni returns to see Salvatore he informs Toni that the Yakuza are heavily armed and looking to take over some Leone turf. Toni heads back to Staunton and enters the Yakuza complex. He finds a lot of weaponry and a tank. Toni steals the tank and kills all the Yakuza members. Toni then destroys the tank by sending it into the water. Toni receives a call from Toshiko Kasen, the wife of the Yakuza leader Kazuki Kasen. She wants Toni's help so Toni decides to head to her apartment so he can work the Yakuza from the inside. When he arrives he meets Toshiko who explains how she hates her husband for caring more about the gang than her. She wants Toni to steal more of the Yakuza's supplies that are coming in. He goes to the docks and kills the Yakuza there and then steals a boat of supplies. The Yakuza give chase but he leaves them behind. He arrives at the ferry station on Staunton and sells the weapons to Phil Cassidy who admires the ferry location (by GTA3 this location is Phil's property and he supplies weapons from it). Toni returns to Toshiko's apartment. There Toshiko tells Toni she wants him to destroy Kasuki's cash vans leaving the casino. She wants to see the cash burn in the streets. Toni suggests that he can take the cash (I would like some) but she insists it be done her way. So Toni goes over to the casino and destroys the vans. Toni returns to Toshiko's later on and she now wants her husband to know who is doing this. She wants Toni to take her to the opera so he leaves and gets her limo. He picks Toshiko up, gets a tux, and drives to the opera. The Yakuza spot Toshiko and Toni at the opera but don't attack. The mafia (Sindaccos most likely) also see and don't agree with the racial mix. They attack Toni who kills them. They get back in the limo and drive off avoiding more attacks. Toni returns Toshiko back to her apartment. She contacts Toni shortly after and wants him to come back right away. When he arrives she informs Toni that Kasuki has found out about them and they are heading over to the apartment soon. Toni doesn't want to wait so he heads to the casino to kill them first. He first kills some Yakuza in Newport and then heads to the casino. He kills the men there and then goes to the roof to face off with Kasuki. They fight with Katanas and Toni wins. Toni takes Kasuki's Katana back to Toshiko as proof. She is happy and sad. She says that there is nothing more for her and jumps out to window to her death. Toni receives a call from Donald who needs Toni's help. Toni goes over to a small apartment on Shoreside Vale and finds Donald a mess. He apologizes to Toni for blaming him and needs Toni's help to get back his cash. Donald wants Toni to kill his former mentor, Avery Carrington, and steal his plans for a new company called Panlantic Corporation. Toni and Donald head to the airport and chase after Avery who is surrounded by Columbian Cartel cars. Toni kills Avery and steals the plans for Donald and drives him back to his apartment. Toni arrives there a short while later and finds Donald frantic. Reporter Ned Burner (who posed as the priest in the church) has pictures of Toni killing Avery. Toni heads to the church and scares Ned into giving him the files. Ned takes Toni to his hideout and a flashbulb goes up blinding Toni. Ned takes off and Toni chases him. Toni catches up and kills Ned. Toni returns to give Donald the good news and Donald is ecstatic. He wants Toni to go collect some guests for a party he will have to celebrate (the guests are, of course, dead bodies). Toni first grabs an ambulance with Avery in it and takes his body to an airport hanger with Avery's private jet in it. Toni then goes back to the church and grabs a hearse with Ned Burner's body in it. He brings it to the hanger as well. A short time later Toni gets a call from Donald asking him to go to 8-Ball's place. Toni heads over and 8-Ball tells him that the explosives will cost $100,000 and he needs time. Toni returns a few days later and the bombs are ready. Apparently, Toni needs to go underground and set the charges in Newport to destroy the Forellis market area so the Panlantic Corp. can have some land to work with. Toni drives over but is met by Forellis. He loses them and gets to Staunton. Toni goes into the tunnels and sets the timers. He busts through some gates and manages to get out just as the entire market area and underground tunnels explode (that is why this area is under development in GTA3). Toni returns to Donald who needs to leave Liberty City now. The Columbians surround the house Donald is at but Toni kills them all. Toni drives Donald to the hanger with Avery's private jet and they wish each other fair well. Toni receives a call from Salvatore, he is getting out. Apparently the Sicilians have been causing the wars between the families and don't want Salvatore out of prison. Toni heads over and escorts the convoy with Salvatore to the courthouse. Several Sicilian cars come by but Toni takes care of them and makes it to the courthouse with Salvatore. A few days later Toni gets a call from Salvatore. He is out of prison and back home. Toni returns to the house and finds out that the Sicilians have kidnapped the mayor. Salvatore and Toni set out to rescue him. They head to City Hall and kill the Sicilians. Salvatore finds out that they have the mayor at the pier. They head over and kill the men there. Toni and Salvatore get in a boat and head for an island where the mayor is being held. Toni fights off the boats that follow while Salvatore drives. They get to the island and arrives at the top to find Massimo has planned it all. Salvatore curses him as he gets in a helicopter. Salvatore chases after the mayor while Toni shoots it down and kills Massimo. Salvatore returns with the mayor and they head back to Salvatore's house. When they arrive Salvatore tells Mayor O'Donovan that since they rescued his life he now owes the Leone's and they now own him. He is forced to agree. The mayor is taken back to City Hall. Toni and Salvatore celebrate and Salvatore meets a cousin from Sicily. He tells Salvatore that he never wanted to hurt them and hopes there can be peace now. Salvatore agrees. As the man leaves Salvatore states that he never trusted a piece of garbage like the man. The elderly man says under his breath, "Every dog has his day..." (this proves true when Salvatore is killed in 2001 by Claude). ----------------------------------------------------------- E9. 1999-2000 1999-2000 - Catalina and Claude arrive in Liberty City and Catalina joins the Columbian Cartel without Claude knowing. She begins to find that Claude is small time and not for her as she works heavily with the Cartel to distribute drugs around Liberty City. Catalina and Claude plan a major heist on the Liberty City Bank. 1999-2000 - Motorcycles are banned in Liberty City thanks to ongoing protests by certain groups that insist they are dangerous. 1999-2000 - The Diablos take Hepburn Heights from the Leones. The Yakuza take Torrington from the Leones. The Triads expand their territory in Atlantic Quays and Chinatown and take some turf from the Leones. All this loss of land causes the Leone Family to weaken slightly as Salvatore is unable to accept defeat. 1999 - The Sindacco Family gives up on Liberty City expansion and moves full time to Las Venturas. They run Caligula's Casino after the Forellis and Leones abandoned it following a heist by Carl Johnson and the San Andreas Triads. 2000 - SPANK is introduced as a new drug in Liberty City. It exploded in popularity by 2001 and was supplied to all by the Columbian Cartel. Catalina used SPANK to take leadership duties in the Cartel along with Miguel after Cisco is killed. 2000 - The events of GTA Advance happen. Key Notes: - 8-Ball is arrested and sent to prison. In a fight prior to the arrest his hands are burned. - Gang wars break out between the Mafia, Yakuza, and Cartel. ----------------------------------------------------------- E10. 2001 The events of GTA 3 In early 2001, Catalina and Claude pulled off a heist on the Liberty City Bank. They head out of the building as Claude shoots a security camera. Catalina turns the corner and a shot is heard. Claude turns and finds one of the men shot down by Catalina. She shoots Claude and leaves him for dead as she takes off with another man (Miguel). Claude is found and charged with the robbery. He is sentenced. While the transport van is taking them over the Callahan Bridge it is stopped. Columbian Cartel members come out from trucks surrounding the van and take an elderly man with them. Claude and another man (8-Ball) attack the remaining guards and take off their handcuffs. They look over at the centre of the bridge and see a bomb place there. It explodes and creates a huge hole in the Callahan Bridge separating Portland from the rest of the city. Claude and 8-Ball grab a car and 8-Ball asks Claude to drive as his hands are all tapped up (from the events of GTA Advance). Claude drives to a small place and they change their clothes. 8-Ball directs Claude to a man he knows, Luigi, at the Sex Club 7. Claude drives over and 8-Ball goes in the building while Luigi comes out and talks with Claude. Luigi tells Claude to go pick up Misty from the clinic. If he does good then there might be more work for him. Claude goes to the clinic, picks Misty up and drives her back to Luigi's. As Claude thinks about being betrayed by Catalina and the revenge he wants on her he knows that he needs to work his way through the criminal world to find her again. Claude returns to Luigi's for more work. When he arrives he is confronted by the security man, Mickey, and handed a letter. The letter is from Luigi who wants Claude to go to the docks and kill a drug dealer who has been supplying SPANK to Luigi's girls. Claude heads over to the docks and kills the man. He takes the dealer's car and has it resprayed and delivered to a garage. Claude returns to Luigi's place and is told by Luigi that the Don's son, Joey Leone, is looking for some action from his usual girl, Misty. Claude is instructed to pick her up and take her to Joey's garage. Claude does this and Joey tells him to come back for some work. Claude doesn't take Joey up on his offer just yet as he returns to Luigi's to continue work there. Luigi storms out upset about a Diablo guy that has been pimping his women around the Sex Club 7. Luigi wants Claude to take care of him. Claude finds the man driving around town and destroys the man's car killing him. Claude again heads back to Luigi's. Luigi informs Claude that there is a policeman's ball by Callahan Bridge and he wants Claude to collect his girls and take them there to make some cash. So Claude heads around town and collects as many of Luigi's girls as he can and brings them to the ball. Luigi has no need for Claude anymore so Claude heads off to Joey's. When he gets there he hears a phone ringing and picks it up. The owner of the Bitchin' Dog Food Factory, Marty Chonks, needs Claude for some tasks. He assigns Claude with bringing some people to his factory so he can kill them and Claude is left to destroy the car and the evidence. Marty asks Claude to bring his banker over because he has been ripping Marty off. Next Claude brings some street thugs over who Marty hired to break into his apartment. They now want more money. Then Marty needs some cash and Claude brings his wife over to kill her and get the insurance. Finally, it appears that Marty's wife had a lover and it is a man that Marty owes money to. Claude brings him over but Marty is killed by the man. Claude steps out and kills the man and then leaves the factory for good. Claude later arrives and Joey's garage and enters. Joey wants Claude to kill Lips Forelli as the Forelli's have owed Joey money for too long. Claude goes to Marco's Bistro and steals Lips' car. He takes it to 8-Ball who fits it with a bomb and Claude brings it back. When Lips returns to his car Claude activates the bomb and the car explodes, killing Lips Forelli. Claude goes back to Joey's and is now instructed to kill a vendor in Chinatown that is pushing SPANK. Claude heads over and fights through numerous Triad members and kills Chunky Lee Chong. When Claude returns to Joey's he is informed of a payroll van around Chinatown. It is impervious to bullets and Claude must use a car to ram it. He heads over and rams the van. The security inside leave the truck and Claude takes it to Joey's lockup. Claude goes back to Joey's garage and finds Joey with another man (not in a gay way). Joey introduces this man as Toni Cipriani and apparently Joey has been telling Toni alot about him. Claude is directed to take Toni to the Cipriani's Ristorante in St. Marks. But as they leave Toni wants them to make a stop at Mr. Wong's Launderette in Chinatown because he needs to collect some overdue protection money. When they arrive Toni enters but is ambushed by some Triads. He jumps in the car and they speed off to the ristorante. Toni says that he will get the Triads for this as Claude drops him off. Claude receives a page from a man named El Burro who wants to talk with him in Hepburn Heights. Claude returns to Joey's place since Joey said he needed a driver for a heist he was planning. But when Claude returns Joey needs him to do something else. Apparently some Forelli ran his mouth and was killed for it. The body is in the trunk of a car in Callahan Point. Claude is told to take the car to the crushers to get rid of the evidence. Once Claude finds the car and gets in it the Forelli's drive up in two cars and try to run him off the road. Claude avoids them and manages to get the car to the crushers. Claude goes back to Joey's place and Joey tells him he has some friends who are planning to hit the Bank of Liberty (different than the one Claude broke into at the beginning intro). They need a good driver and Joey recommended Claude. Claude goes to the safehouse in St. Marks and grabs the men. They go to the bank and steal the cash but someone trips the alarm. Claude frantically avoids the cops and makes it back to the lockup. Joey doesn't need Claude's services right now so Claude heads to Toni's restaurant after a day of rest. Entering the restaurant, Claude finds Toni who informs him that the launderette won't pay protection. He wants Claude to destroy their laundry vans and kill anyone that gets in his way. So Claude heads to Chinatown and accomplishes this. Claude returns and finds a letter from Toni. The launderette has agreed to pay so Claude must go collect the money. When he goes to Chinatown and grabs the money he is surrounded by Triads. Claude kills them all and returns the money to Toni's place. Claude finds another letter when he drops off the cash. Apparently the Don has called a meeting. Claude needs to get the limo from Joey's, grab Joey, pick up Luigi, and then return for Toni so they can head to the Don's place together. Claude does just this but when he grabs Toni the car is ambushed by Triad vans. Claude fights them off and gets to Salvatore's place. They all go up and greet the Don who wants a world with Claude. Salvatore sees a good future for Claude and wants Claude to take the Don's woman, Maria, out for a good time. Maria doesn't like the situation and refers to Claude as 'Fido'. Claude and Maria get in the limo and she instructs him to head for the Chinatown train station. When they arrive Maria meets Chico who gives her the 'usual' supply of drugs. He informs her of a party in Atlantic Quays and she agrees to check it out. Claude drives Maria over to a warehouse and she tells Claude to wait in the car. The police suddenly arrive for a narcotics bust and the party people run out and a shootout begins. Maria comes out and gets in the car. Claude drives Maria back to Salvatore's place. Maria tells Claude how impressed she is with his professionalism. She wants to see Claude again. When Claude returns to Toni's he finds another letter. Toni writes that they're at war. The launderette hasn't paid protection and the Triads have a fish factory as a front. Toni wants Claude to kill some of the Triad high officials. Claude goes to Chinatown and finds a warzone. He kills some Triad leaders as they fight with Leone Family members. Claude heads over to the fish factory in Atlantic Quays and kills the men there as well. Claude heads back to Toni's place and finds another letter (does this guy ever show up?). Toni instructs Claude to finish the Triads for good. 8-Ball has rigged a dustcart and Toni wants Claude to take it to the fish factory and destroy it (much like the Triads did in 1998). Claude grabs the dustcart and takes it in the facility. He parks it near some tanks and runs like hell. The building explodes and Claude leaves the area successfully. Claude returns to Salvatore Leone's house. Claude meets Salvatore who suspects one of the bartenders is leaking information to the Columbians. Claude must follow him to see if it is true and then kill him if it is. Claude goes over and follows the man. Keeping his distance, they arrive at the docks and Curly Bob meets with Miguel and Catalina. He informs them that the Leone's are in a war with the Triads and Joey has stirred up some bad blood with the Forelli's. He gets his supply of SPANK for his services and they leave. Claude drives oevr to Curly Bob and runs him down for the betrayal. Claude returns to Salvatore's house to give him the news. When Claude returns Salvatore suspects that the ship near where Curly Bob led Claude is the SPANK factory for the Columbians. He wants Claude to destroy it and orders him to visit 8-Ball for some explosives. Claude heads over and is asked to get $100,000 to cover to expenses. Claude gievs it to him and they head to the boat. 8-Ball waits for Claude to kill the men on the boat and then heads in and sets the bomb. The ship explodes, sinks, and 8-Ball makes it off safely. Claude returns to Salvatore's and is praised for his work. Salvatore just needs Claude to do one more small job before everything is done. He needs Claude to grab a car and take it to the crushers. As Claude heads over to the vehicle he receives a page from Maria who informs him the car is a trap and for him to come to Callahan Point. Claude proceeds over and finds a freaked out Maria with an Asian woman. Maria tells Claude that Salvatore believes they are going behind his back because she said they were an item (smart one) and was offering Claude to the Columbian Cartel to make a deal. Maria introduces Asuka to Claude and she wants them to head over to Staunton Island before the Leone's show up. They proceed over and go to Asuka's apartment. Asuka tells Claude that a safehosue has been setup for him and that he should come by later. Claude leaves and visits the warehouse setup for him and hears that the Callahan Bridge has been repaired. Claude returns to Asuka's and she wants Claude to prove he isn't working for the Leone's before they can do business. As Claude leaves he hears Maria comment on Asuka's 'massager' (if you don't know what that really is then email me ;)). Claude heads oevr to the Sex Club 7 where Salvatore is. He hides on the rooftops and then kills Salvatore as he leaves. The Leone members give chase but he avoids them and leaves. Claude also receives a page from King Courtney, the leader of the Yardies, who wants to meet Claude. When Claude returns to Asuka's he finds her happy with Salvatore dead but apparently the Mafia has lookout posts on Staunton trying to find Claude. This is causing problems with Yakuza operations and Asuka wants Claude to kill them and end the vendetta. Claude is introduced to Asuka's brotehr, Kenji, who operates the Yakuza casino. Claude goes around Staunton and takes out these lookout posts and ends the Leone Family threat. He proceeds over to the casino and finds Kenji. Kenji wants Claude to break a Yakuza member out of prison. Claude finds a police car, rigs it with a bomb, and takes it to the police station. He places the car beside a wall and blows it up. Claude grabs the Yakuza member and they escape the police station. Claude avoids the police and takes the man to a dojo. Claude returns to the casino and Kenji says that to his shame he hasn't been able to repay a debt to a man. The man enjoys cars and Kenji wants Claude to collect a few to complete the man's collection. Claude drives around town and picks up the 3 specified cars and takes them to a garage. Claude goes back and Kenji is upset. The Columbians are meeting with the Yardies to make a deal even after the Yakuza have told the Cartel to stay out of their business. Kenji wants Claude to meet a Yakuza man, steal a Yardie car, and go to the meeting. Claude heads out and does this. They show up to the meeting and when the Cartel get out of their cars, Claude and the Yakuza man kill them all. Claude grabs a briefcase from the bodies and returns it to the casino. When Claude enetrs he is instructed to go collect the protection money from various companies. Claude drives around town and collects to money but when he comes to a market and the place has been robbed. The owner complains that the Yakuza are useless and Claude needs to go get the money. He heads over to Hepburn Heights and finds some Diablos protecting the money. Claude kills them and returns all the cash to the casino. Claude goes to meet with Kenji who immediately yells at him. It appears that Claude's efforts to stop the Columbians and Yardies becoming allied didn't work. The Yardies are selling SPANK on the streets. Kenji wants Claude to kill them and erase the shame from himself. Claude goes out and kills every Yardie he can find on the street. Claude returns to Asuka's place to help her with some affairs. Claude finds a letter there for him (does no one want to talk to Claude?) and it informs him that Asuka and Maria have taken a vacation as some reporter is snooping around and should be out in the bay. Claude grabs a police boat and chases the reporter. He shoots the boat up and it sinks, killing the reporter. A few days later Asuka returns and Claude joins her at her apartment. She wants Claude to delievr payment to the Yakuza's man in the LCPD. He is paranoid so Claude must get to the payphone in Torrington and await instructions. When Claude arrives he is lead around to different payphones on Staunton Island until he is instructed to meet the man in the toilet block in Belleville Park. Claude heads in and finds the man and hands the cash over. The man is Ray Machowski and he tells Claude to meet him back here for some work. Claude stays there and Ray tells him that another bent cop, McAffrey (the same guy from GTA LCS), has just squealed and Ray doesn't want to be implicated. Claude is instructed to kill him in his hideout in Newport. Claude heads over and burns the apartment and then kills McAffrey as he attempts to leave. Claude returns to the toilet block and Ray wants Claude to help out his friend, Phil Cassidy, with a Columbian Cartel problem. So Claude heads north into Rockford and meets Phil in his base. He says that the Columbians will be coming soon. When they arrive Claude and Phil take them out and then Phil offers Claude great prices on his hardware as a thank you. Phil also adds that if he had Claude in Nicaragua with him, he would still have his arm (or if you didn't blow it off with Boomshine). Claude returns to the toilet block to inform Ray. Ray gives Claude the task of collecting some evidence of his friend at a "morgue party or something" that could lead to arrests and prosecution. Claude finds the truck driving around and rams it to get all the evidence. Claude then burns it and receives a page from Doanld Love to meet him. Claude goes and visits him. Claude enters the building and gets to Donald's penthouse. It appears that Donald is back on his feet after the problems back in 1998. He owns numerous radio stations and his company 'Love Media' is into almost everything. Donald thanks Claude for taking care of the evidence and wants Claude to rescue his "oriental friend" who is being held by the Cartel in Aspatria. Claude grabs a Cartel car and enters the complex. He kills the Cartel and rescues the man (who looks like the man the Cartel broke out of the prison van that Claude was being escorted in). Claude drives the man back to the Love Media offices. Claude returns to Love's penthouse and is told that "Nothing drives down real estate prices like a good old fashioned gang war..." Donald wants Claude to kill Kenji and make it look like the Cartel did it. So Claude steals a Cartel Cruiser and drives to the parking structure in Newport. He goes to the top and drives by, killing Kenji and then leaves. Claude returns to Donald's penthouse and Donald wants Claude to grab a boat and pick up some packages in the ocean that will be dropped by a plane. Claude heads over and gets under Callahan Bridge. Claude recovers the packages, avoids the police, and returns the packages to Donald's place. He hears over the radio that the Shoreside Lift Bridge has been repaired. Claude visits Ray back in the park and Ray suspects his current partner is a rat. Ray suggests that Claude go out and get a police boat and kill the rat. Claude does so and kills Ray's partner. Claude returns and Ray yells at him. Apparently, Claude failed to kill the witness (probably McAffrey) that will implicate Ray. He is being moved from the hospital and Ray wants him dead. Claude drives up to the ambulance and knocks the witness out. He is in a body cast and Claude must run him over to kill him. After many attempts Claude is successful. Claude returns to Ray to inform him but he has no time. He's a marked man and must get to the airport to leave town. Claude drives Ray over to Francis International Airport. He avoids the CIA on the bridge and Ray is safely on a plane. Ray informs Claude of a lockup with some 'presents;. Claude goes back to the lockup on Staunton and finds some weapons and Patriot. Claude goes back to Asuka's apartment and finds a letter. It informs Claude that one of the Yakuza's drivers, Tanner, is an undercover cop who is "more or less useless out of his car" (a nice rib on the Driver series for PlayStation). Claude heads to the casino and kills the cop even when backup officers show up. Since Asuka is out still, Claude returns to Donald Love's penthouse. He finds Donald who tells Claude that the packages he picked up in the ocean were a decoy. The real package is in the plane, in a hangar, at Francis International Airport. Customs was stripping the plane when Donald paid for them to stop. Claude heads over and finds the Columbians surrounding the plane. Claude kills them and the package is missing. He finds a van that says "Panlantic Co." (remember that company?) on the side so Claude heads for the construction site in Newport. Claude arrives and finds Columbians everywhere. He kills them and heads up a lift to the building. Claude finds Catalina and Miguel there. Miguel hands Claude the package but Catalina shoots Miguel and escapes. Asuka appears and is angry about Kenji's death. She says that everyone saw the Cartel kill Kenji (unaware it was Claude). She is going to work over Miguel for information and asks that you return for work later. Claude takes the package to Love's penthouse. Claude reenters Love's penthouse and is asked to accompany his friend to Pike Creek to have his object authenticated. Claude follows the Securicar and manages to keep the Cartel off it as it reaches it's destination. Claude goes back to Love's penthouse and is now needed to take the Securicar and act as a decoy to get the object out of the building. Claude heads over, grabs the truck, and successfully leads the cops away. Claude returns to Love's penthouse but finds an empty box and Love is gone. Claude decides to return to see Asuka. Claude arrives at the construction site and finds Asuka still torturing Miguel. Asuka informs Claude that Catalina has three death squads with the sole purpose of hunting Claude down. Asuka wants Claude to act as the bait and lure them into a Yakuza trap. So Claude gets their attention and heads to Pike Creek. He leads them in and the Yakuza kill all the Cartel members. Claude returns to Asuka. He is told that the Columbians have a front company, the Kappa Coffee House which they use to push SPANK. She wants Claude to destroy all their stations in Liberty City. So Claude heads all over Liberty quickly and destroys all nine stands. He returns to find Asuka showing Maria the art of torture. Asuka informs Claude that a plane is coming into Francis International Airport with more SPANK. She wants Claude to destroy it and collect the drugs. Claude heads over and finds some Columbian memebrs there, which he kills and then he destroys the plane and collects the packages. Claude heads back and finds Asuka and Miguel dead with a note. It is from Catalina who says she has Maria and for Claude to bring $500,000 to the Villa at Cedar Grove. Claude immediately collects the cash and heads over. He is confronted by Cartel members who check him for weapons and let him in. Catalina confronts him and takes the money. She tells the Cartel to kill him but Claude kills them all. Catalina heads off in a helicopter and Claude follows in a car. She gets to the Cochrane Dam and there are Cartel members all over. Despite this, Claude kills them and as Catalina takes off in the helicopter again he destroys the helicopter with a rocket. Claude rescues Maria and they leave the area. They walk along to top of the dam and Maria won't shut up and as the screen fades a gunshot is heard. =========================================================== F. I would like to thank Adam Marx (CanadianDude) for his Series Guide as I read it and it inspired me. While my writing style and coverage is different, I enjoyed reading his work. I would also like to thank Robert Allen Rusk (RARusk) as his walkthroughs were very well written and helped in certain parts where I forgot some missions. I recommend any of his walkthroughs as they are very detailed and helpful. Thanks to anyone else that contributes comments and such and I will see you all on the World Wide Web.
