You are entering the magical world of Final Fantasy X-2. Yuna's story continues as the disappearance of Tidus is extremely mysterious. I have spent a lot of time writing the FAQ/Walkthrough so that other gamers will have an easier and more enjoyable time with any information that is unclear to them in this game. I will cover every aspect of the game, and I will try to answer all of your questions during your gaming experience. Final Fantasy is a long and successful series. This game displays a new and excellent way of upgrading your characters, and it introduces another amazing story that will keep you hooked for as long as you can stand it. I am hoping to cover all of the aspects of the game in the faq, but some information may still be confusing or possibly even missing. If this is the case, you should go ahead and e-mail me. If you want more information about e-mailing me, check the E-mail Policy section (code = X2a2). Remember, if you would like to host this FAQ on another site, check out the Legal Information (code = X2a4). If you e-mail me, I will most likely allow you to use my Walkthrough. Let us move onto Yuna's "personal" adventure. Good luck, have fun, and good gaming. =============================================================================== )( |Section A2| )( || |E-mail Policy| || )( |X2a2| )( =============================================================================== nm14.faqs[at]gmail[dot]com Hey everyone. This is the e-mail policy portion of this FAQ. I am going to list what I believe to be "acceptable" or "unacceptable" e-mails. Of course, it would be very wise of you to correctly e-mail me if you are hoping for a response. Also, if you have made a mistake when e-mailing me, it is very likely I will block you so that you cannot send me any more messages. So, now that you all know what will happen if you incorrectly e-mail me, you have to find out what is acceptable and what is unacceptable. Please read below. Do you have information that we have not covered in this FAQ? Well, read below. If you happen to know something in the FAQ please e-mail me. I am always interested in adding information from readers, but there are a few exceptions. If this FAQ is NOT labeled "Final" as its version, your added information may not neccessarily be used. I could possibly already know your information, but have not gotten to that section yet. So, do not guarantee that I will post your comments just because you were nice enough to e-mail us. Now, for a little more about an "acceptable" e-mail, let's talk about the subject of the e-mail. I get a lot of e-mails about other FAQs that I have written, so I can easily miss your e-mail unless you identify it. So, in the subject line, please include the words "Final Fantasy X-2" in your subject line. This makes it a lot easier to sort things out in my e-mail. If you do not refer to what game you are commenting/asking for help on, I will most likely ignore the entire e-mail. The last aspect that we would like to talk about is reading the FAQ. If you are in doubt, check around the entire FAQ before coming to us for direct help. It is likely that information is in other parts of the FAQ, and not neccessarily the part that you are looking at during that very moment. Any comments that are already answered in this FAQ will simply be ignored and blocked, as I have taken a lot of time to write this guide for you, you can do a little something for me as well. If any of the above guidelines are not followed correctly your e-mails will be considered "unacceptable" and I am sure you know what that means. I personally think that it will be simple to follow the guidelines, and you will not have to worry very much about the process. Thank you, again, for your cooperation. =============================================================================== )( |Section A3| )( || |Version History| || )( |X2a3| )( =============================================================================== ----------- Version 3.0 ~671KB~ ----------- Updated the accessories and dresspheres sections. ----------- Version 3.0 ~661KB~ ----------- Finished the walkthrough and added some accessories. ----------- Version 3.0 ~644KB~ ----------- Near the end of ch. 5 (walkthrough). ----------- Version 2.5 ~586KB~ ----------- Update the walkthrough until Bikanel Desert in Ch. 3. ----------- Version 2.4 ~554KB~ ----------- Updated the walkthrough up to Mi'ihen Highroad in Chapter 3. ----------- Version 2.3 ~493KB~ ----------- Updated the walkthrough again after the secret corrdidors of Leblanc's Head Quarters. They are all relaxing after the "Calm" the period after Sin is destroyed. This period does not last forever. During this time Yuna has decided that she wanted to start finding spheres that hint at Spira's past. The beginning of the game reveals that she seems to have started to join the Gullwings when she found the sphere of a character who seemed to be Tidus, a crucial character in Final Fantasy X. -------- ~-Yuna-~ -------- Yuna is the central character in the game. She is the daughter of Lord Braska, a former summoner. She was a summoner that led a pilgrimage throughout Spira to stop the evil Sin. Eventually she was successful, and she is honored in all portions of Spira. Her main goal is to have fun and search for Spira's past before Sin, but she recently discovers a sphere with Tidus, or what seems to be Tidus. She is extremely excited to find more information about Tidus. --------- ~-Rikku-~ --------- Rikku is Yuna's cousin, and daughter of Cid, an Al Bhed. Her brother "brother" leads an airship called the Celsius around for easier navigation in Spira. She was a former guardian of Yuna during Yuna's pilgrimage to defeat Sin. Rikku is usually happy and carefree, but she does not seem to be the smartest of the bunch. Sometimes you do not even want to listen to her. --------- ~-Paine-~ --------- Paine is one of the mysterious characters in the game. She joined the Gullwings as a warrior before Yuna did. She reminds a lot of people of Auron, as she says little and seems to be wise when she speaks. She also has the most strength of the Gullwings. Legend says that she is seaching for spheres in order to discover something personal in her life. ----------- ~-Leblanc-~ ----------- Leblanc is basicall your rival sphere hunter. She walks around with a gang of two characters, Logos and Ormi, who always get on your back and try to attack you. But, again and again, her sidekicks fail to beat you and will always be defeated by the powerful Gullwings, Yuna, Rikku and Paine. Leblanc's headquarter is located in Guadosalam in the old palace of Seymour. She has a lot of Goon servants and basically orders everyone around to do different tasks. That is basically all there is to Leblanc and her gang. ----------------------------- ~-The Story (in a nutshell)-~ ----------------------------- Yuna is given a sphere from Kimahri which contains footage of Tidus, or at least the looks of Tidus. This inspires Yuna to get out and search the large world of Spira to find Tidus. This is basically the job of the Gullwings, who happen to hunt down various spheres of Spira's history. The end can only explain... =============================================================================== )( |Section B2| )( || |Basics| || )( |X2b2| )( =============================================================================== There is a lot of information needed for a beginning gamer of the Final Fantasy series. This number indicates your life. If you are attacked your HP will move down, and you will be close to dieing. Also, to take away HP from other characters you can attack them. Your HP will be displayed when you press Triangle to put your main menu up, or when you are battling it is located in a box on the lower-right hand corner of your screen. ~Info~ -Potions can gain back lost Hit Points -Leveling Up will increase your maximum Hit Points -Accessories can increase your maximum Hit Points --------------------- ~-Magic Points-~ (MP) --------------------- ~Summary~ Each character has a certain number of Magic Points (MP) including enemies. This number indicates your ability to perform magic. Each magic spell costs magic when you are inside of a battle. In general, the more magic a character knows, the more MP the character has. Your MP is located directly right your HP, on both your battle screen and your main menu. ~Info~ -Ethers can gain back lost Magic Points -Accessories can increase your maximum Magic Points -MP Absorb can gain back lost Magic Points ----------------------- ~-Ability Points-~ (AP) ----------------------- ~Summary~ Ability Points help you learn certain attacks and spells for a certain dressphere. Each enemy, or fiend, that you encounter will have a designated amount of AP. You can obtain their AP if you kill that particular fiend. Some fiends have more AP than others, but most common fiends carry a total of 1 AP. ~Info~ -Bosses contain more AP than normal fiends -Use your AP to learn the easier attacks or spells before the longer ones -If you encounter more than one fiend, you will get the total amount of AP from all of the fiends. ---------------- ~-Save Spheres-~ ---------------- Save spheres are blue balls that are found periodically throughout levels. You will always start a save sphere when you load your game. Also, by going to a save sphere you refill all of your HP, MP, and you cure all of your weaknesses. Try to return to save spheres when you finish battles so that you do not have to waist potions are other items. ------------------- ~-Treasure Chests-~ ------------------- Treasure chests are flooded in obvious and not so obvious places. Press X when you reach a chest and you will open the chest and gain a prize of some sort. Usually, the more hidden the chest the more useful the prize is. In some cases of the game chests can be locked. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== )( |Section B3| )( || |Garment Grids| || )( |X2b3| )( =============================================================================== This section was written to give you every bit of information needed to use and understand garment grids. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What are Garment Grids? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Garment grids are grids that allow a character to advance in an ability. They can be changed at any time of the game (except battles) and are very useful when it comes to different dresspheres. If you want to use abilities that your current dressphere does not have, you can use garment grids to obtain that ability. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How do you use Garment Grids? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you wish to use these garment grids that enhance your abilites, simply go to the sub-section on the title menu labeled "Garment Grid." This will bring up a list of garment grids on the left side of the screen. By selecting a certain garment grid, you are going to have to pick the dresspheres that you wish to place on the grid. This means, put your character's dresspheres on the grid. Once you have filled the empty nodes with dresspheres, head back to the main menu. Select the "Equip" sub menu. Head to garment grids and select the grid of your choice. Whatever abilities that were in the grid you will now have with your character. It is really neat! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Garment Grids ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The grids are in no particular order, and list the number of empty nodes in each grid, and what effect it has on the garment grid user. =============================================================================== ~Grid #1~ First Steps O Empty Nodes: 6 O Equip: No effect Where? Go outside and hit X until you find a hotspot (one is at the groove in between the shop and Crusader Lodge, one to the left of the path Waterfall Way before the first bridge, just hold down left and run across, one is at the FAR right ledge where Beclam and the Aurochs are, and one is located at the ledge overseeing the lake where Tidus and Wakka jumped in from FFX, it's the area to the right of the hidden cave, and the sphere is found to the left side of the screen. For the numbers you need for the code, in the first sphere look to the roof of the temple and zoom in three times to see it in a small steeple, for the second just look ahead at the top of the mountains and zoom in three times, in the third look out to the last waterfall of Waterfall Way and zoom in three times, and for the last one look to the FAR left and zoom in to find a barely distinguishible number in a palm tree.) Now go to the hidden cave and use the random code given to open the door on your right and go up the path to the end to find a chest with the GG. You are to understand and create different abilities for each character so that you can master battle using a combination of all three of the characters. Dresspheres basically take place of the people in Final Fantasy X because you can transform into a different "Special" so to speak. Of course, it is very crucial that you understand how to change dresspheres, and is important to master certain dresspheres with certain people. In a general statement, a dressphere provides characters with new abilities and a new costume. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to select a Dressphere ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am sure you are very anxious to figure out how to chose your very own dressphere. You have a few options on this. First of all, you can always have one Garment Grid out for each character. In each Garment Grid lies many empty nodes. These nodes can be filled in with small icons that represent different dresspheres. When you select a Garment Grid, click on the certain Icon to pick your dressphere for the moment. This is your first option of changing a dressphere. Now, there are MANY cases in which you will have to change your dressphere in the middle of a battle so that you can perform abilities outside of the range of your current dressphere. To do this, simply press L1 on the controller stick during battle. This will allow you to change dresspheres from your selected garment grid in an instant. I would highly recommend this for your battling, especially when fighting a boss or enemy with a giant amount of HP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dressphere Table of Contents ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -For quick navigation and a list of every dressphere in the game, see below: ----------------------- ~-REGULAR DRESSPHERES-~ ----------------------- ~-Gunner (DP01)-~ ~-Thief (DP02)-~ ~-Gun Mage (DP03)-~ ~-Warrior (DP04)-~ ~-Alchemist (DP05)-~ ~-Samurai (DP06)-~ ~-Dark Knight (DP07)-~ ~-Berserker (DP08)-~ ~-Songstress (DP09)-~ ~-Black Mage (DP10)-~ ~-White Mage (DP11)-~ ~-Lady Luck (DP12)-~ ~-Trainer (DP13)-~ ~-Mascot (DP14)-~ ----------------------- ~-SPECIAL DRESSPHERES-~ ----------------------- ~-Floral Fallal(DP01)-~ ~-Machina Maw (DP02)-~ ~-Full Throttle(DP03)-~ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dresspheres ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- ~-Gunner (DP01)-~ ----------------- XXXXXXXXXXXXX Main Commands XXXXXXXXXXXXX ------------- Attack ------------- Trigger Happy ------------- Gunplay ------------- Item ------------- XXXXXXXXX Abilities XXXXXXXXX +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ | Ability (AP) | Function | Required Ability | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Attack (0) |Attacks One Enemy |None | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Trigger Happy (0) |Press R1 to rapid fire |None | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Potshot (20) |Attacks One Enemy |None | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Cheap Shot (30) |Attacks One Enemy |Potshot | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Enchanted Ammo (30) |Magic Damage on One Enemy |None | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Target MP (30) |Damage One Enemy's MP |Enchanted Ammo | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Quarter Pounder (40) |Reduce HP by 1/4 |Target MP | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |On the Level (40) |Damage According to EXP |Target MP | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Burstshot (60) |Attacks One Enemy Greatly |None | +-----------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+ |Table Turner (60) |Damage to High LV. I will explain all about battles, and how you should approach them. Remember, this portion has nothing to do with defeating specific enemies. That can be found in the Enemy portion of the FAQ. Anyway, let us explore the proccess of battles. Battles come very frequently (with some exceptions if your character is holding an accessory that disables battles) throughout walking in a certain part of Spira. The indication of a battle is when the screen stops and breaks like a large pain of glass. Of course, there are some parts of Spira that do not contain Fiends (such as Luca). Now, once you are in the battle you will have to understand the screen presented. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Battle Screen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |(1. This is the help section) (4. This is the Active/Wait Menu)| | | | | | | | | | | |(2. This is the Command Menu) (3. The Help Section -------------------- -Lists the function of each command you select. -Helpful for beginners who are unfamiliar with items and abilities. 2.) Command Menu ---------------- -Shows the commands in which one character can perform. -Allows you to attack during battle. -Allows you to use items during battle. -Allows you to use abilities during battle. -When selecting a command, you can press over left or right to determine if you want to attack one or all enemies. 3.) Status Menu --------------- -Shows your Hit Points (HP) -Shows your Magic Points (MP) -Shows the name of each character -Shows the ATB Gauge which fills at different times. When the ATB Gauge is completely filled, the character can issue a command. 4.) Active/Wait Menu -------------------- -Displays Constant battle (Active). -Displays Turn battle (Wait). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Actions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- During battle you may experience somes of the following actions. I just want to clear any of the possible dillemas that could arrise during a particular battle. If you know of any other possible actions, please inform me, as I might have possibly missed some. Anyway, here are the ones that I have discovered... -------- ~-Miss-~ -------- When the word "Miss" appears after an attack, you are informed that the attack was unsuccessful. The causes of miss could come from casting darkness on an enemy to blind it, or having a high rating in evasion, which is the ability to dodge enemies attacks. ---------------- ~-Chain Attack-~ ---------------- Chain attacks are VERY useful during battles. A chain attack occurs when you attack an enemy multiple times in a row. With each chain attack, more and more damage will be taken off, therefore increasing the mark of your attack on the enemy. I would encourage you to chain attack a magic spell to create the largest possible attack, taking off the most Hit Points on an enemy. ----------- ~-Protect-~ ----------- This spell, which does not cost MP, and is a regular action, reduces the amount of HP driven off your character with PHYSICAL attacks. Therefore, Protect does not have any effect on magical attacks. Please remember this before getting extremely confused. --------- ~-Shell-~ --------- This spell, which does not cost MP, and is a regular action, reduces the amount of HP driven off your character with MAGICAL attacks. Therefore, Protect does not have any effect on physical attacks. Please remember this before getting extremely confused. ----------- ~-Reflect-~ ----------- If a spell is casted by your opponent, it will be deflected off of you, and bounced back onto the enemy, thereby attacking that enemy. If this case happens during battle, cast reflect again, as it only lasts one deflection. --------- ~-Regen-~ --------- Gives small amounts of HP every turn to one character. Good for someone who has little Hit Points, fighting against a strong opponent. --------- ~-Haste-~ --------- Haste is an awesome ability, and a MUST use. It allows one character to perform more attacks during once cycle. If you cast Haste on all of your characters you will get many more attacks, therefore increasing the chances of defeating your opponents. --------------------- ~-Preemptive Strike-~ --------------------- This can appear randomly right as the battle is about to start. It basically means that all three of your players will have the opportunity to attack the other fiends before they can attack you. This gives you a good opportunity to defeat some of the harder fiends by casting some of your best spells and attacks. ------------ ~-Ambushed-~ ------------ This is the direct opposite of the Preemptive Strike feature. You are only able to sit and wait as the other fiends attack you with their best attacks. It will not hurt you to the extent of leaving the battle, but it will be worse off than usual. So, try to cure of recover some health if this happens. =============================================================================== )( |Section B6| )( || |Main Menu| || )( |X2b6| )( =============================================================================== This is the Main Menu section of the FAQ. It is purposed to tell you everything you want to know about Main Menus, and maybe even more! Let's get to the basic stuff. First of all, you want to ACCESS the main menu I assume? Well, when you are running around in a random world, simply press the Triangel button. This will access the main menu. Along the left column of the menu are your basic options. It looks something like this... ============= ~-Main Menu-~ ============= -Use the Code to gain fast access (ctrl+f) to a particular button- /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ [Button] [Code]| ------------- | |Items | MM01 | ------------- | ------------- | |White Magic | MM02 | ------------- | ------------- | |Equip | MM03 | ------------- | ------------- | |Garment Grids| MM04 | ------------- | ------------- | |Abilities | MM05 | ------------- | ------------- | |Accessories | MM06 | ------------- | ------------- | |Dresspheres | MM07 | ------------- | ------------- | |Configuration| MM08 | ------------- | \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items MM01 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this portion of the main menu, you are able to use certain items outside of battle in order for healing, curing, or whatever you may want to do with your characters. There are three subsections under the Items menu: [Use] which allows you to use items in order for curing, healing, and other things. It is very wise to heal your characters using this method after a battle. Also, you cannot use all items, as some are only accessible in a battle, so don't try to use a grenade on someone! [Sort] which allows you to sort your items in the way you please. There are two ways of sorting. You can manually do it so that your most used items are going to appear at the top, or you can automatically sort the items so that you don't have to waist as much time. [Key] These are special items that are given to you during the course of the game. You cannot use the items at any time, but the game will use the items for your when the time is right. You can view scripts of information on the items if you want, otherwise this section is not very helpful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- White Magic MM02 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is at times sort of useful, but I do not like to use it much. You are able to use White Magic spells even when you are not in battle, by simply using this button. You can only use the abilities that you have learned by gaining AP, and you have to select the correct character whom which has learned the ability. One of the downsides of this is that each spell still costs MP, or Magic Points so potions and other cures may be a bit cheaper. Nothing more to say about this section. Just cure your characters here! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equip MM03 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a button that you will be using quite a bit. There are many things in which you can choose in this menu. Let us get started. There are three main sub-sections in the equip menu: Garment Grids, Dresspheres, and Accessories. [Garment Grids] if you do not know anything about Garment Grids, you might want to look at the Garment Grid section, or at least in the Garment Grid part of this Main Menu section. All you have to know for the equip menu is that you can select the Garment Grid of your liking here. This basically leads into the second option of the mini parts of the Equip menu. [Dresspheres] Well, this is where you actually choose your Garment Grid. You can put your selected dresspheres on each Garment Grid, and then select one of those dresspheres on that Grid. Of course, this means that you must choose your Garment Grid before you can choose your dressphere, and equip them. [Accessories] You have two slots open to place your selection of accessories in which you have gained throughout the game. They will add to your stats, or even to your abilities, so this is a good place to take advantage of upcoming bosses' weaknesses. Just put something that can absorb enemy attacks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Garment Grid MM04 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This, again, will not be very in-depth when it comes to Garment Grids. If you want to know some hardcore information about Garment Grids, just check out the Garment Grid section. In this menu you can arrange the dresspheres in each of the Garment Grids. You can have the computer automatically fill in certain Garment Grids, or you can arrange them yourself manually. It is all up to you, but make sure that you have the Dressphere that you want in each Garment Grid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Abilities MM05 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my personal favorite section of the Main Menu, and you will be viewing it to pick the abilities that you want to learn. This is what I would consider the "motivational" section of the game. You will always want to learn more abilities to master your characters. You will also see how close you are to mastering a dressphere by looking at your percents given. If you have a golden crown instead of percent, you will have Mastered the dressphere. If you want to know the effects of certain abilities, check out my dressphere section. It lists all of the abilities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Accessories MM06 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Accessories menu will basically give you explanations of what each accessory actually does. You can also sort the accessories in two different ways... [Sort] which allows you to sort your accessories in the way you please. There are two ways of sorting. You can manually do it so that your most used accessories are going to appear at the top, or you can automatically sort the accessories so that you don't have to waist as much time. If you want more information about the Accessories, simply head over to my Accessories section of this FAQ. You will get to know EVERYTHING you wanted to know about Accessories plus some. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dresspheres MM07 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This portion of the main menu basically just explains the Dresspheres (of course, only the dresspheres that you have obtained up to whatever point you are in the game). You can view and read a little of information about each of the dresspheres as well. Nothing much else to say about this section of the main menu. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Configuration MM08 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the option menu for the game. I will list the options below... [Spherechange] ~Normal~ A Longer Version of changing dresspheres during battle. ~Short~ A Short version of changing dresspheres during battle. ~Off~ An instant change of dresspheres during battle. [ATB Speed] ~Fast~ The battle gauge will go really fast, causing you to act quickly. ~Normal~ The battle gauge will go normal, causing you to go moderately. ~Slow~ The battle gauge will go slow, allowing lots of time to act. [ATB Mode] ~Active~ Enemies can always attack you. ~Wait~ Enemies cannot attack you when you are searching for something in the menu scrolls. [Cursor] ~Default~ You pick your commands during battle. ~Memory~ The computer will remember your last command, and repeat it. This is not recomended. [Battle Help] ~On~ Gives you helpful hints during the course of battle. ~Off~ Does not give you helpful hints during battle. [Vibration] ~On~ There is vibration on the controller. ~Off~ There is no vibration on the controller. [Subtitles] ~On~ Subtitles are shown when cutscenes involve conversations. ~Off~ Subtitles are not shown when cutscenes involve conversations. [Subtitle Names] ~On~ Explains who is speaking inside of subtitles. ~Off~ Turns the person who is speaking anonymous on subtitles. [Guide Map] ~On~ Turns the Mini-Map on when walking around Spira. ~Off~ Turns the Mini-Map off when walking around Spira. [Sound] ~Mono~ Turns Sound to Mono type. ~Stereo~ Turns Sound to Stereo type. [Screen Position] ~This simply allows you to adjust the position of the screen to fit your TV.~ =============================================================================== )( |Section C1| )( || |Walkthrough| || )( |X2c1| )( =============================================================================== Welcome to the walkthrough portion of this FAQ. There will be in-depth details on how to defeat bosses, fiends, and every mission of the game. This walkthrough will cover 100% of the game. Remember, I will inform you when you HAVE to do something and when something is optional for completion percentage purposes. Please to do not hesitate to skip parts of the walkthrough as some things may not be as important as others, although everything placed in this FAQ does have some significance. So, to start out...Place your Final Fantasy X-2 game in your Playstation 2. You will be presented with some credits. You can watch them later, as I am sure you want to get started with this amazing fantasy. You will come to two different options: New Game, and Load. Of course, select new game and the opening scene will occur. I will not go through the scenes, as you can easily watch them your self. I will place headers for new missions as follows: First the name of the place, second the chapter, third the amount of percent you can complete in this section, the mission number, the code, and the number of fiends. Remember, the walkthrough is divided into five chapters, just like the game is. =============================================================================== >< Chapter 1 >< >< >< >< >< =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |Luca | Chapter 1 | % obtainable = 1.6% | Mission 1* | x21c | 6 fiends ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You will start off going down the side of a level of Luca. Then attack her with chain attacks and steal from her. He will give you three Al Bhed Primers (they decipher the Al Bhed language) and Buddy will give you one. Then talk to Shinra, the small kid to the right of the large sphere ball in the center of the room. Select Treasure Spheres from the list. Select "Journey's Start" to see an interesting scene with...ahh, see it for yourself. Then talk to Shinra again. Select the garment grid tuturial. If you complete this tutorial you will gain the Vanguard Garment Grid. Now, head to the back of the room, through the doors. You will aproach a save sphere. If you press X at these save spheres you can save your game. Do so at this moment. Now, head to the elevator opposite the door you came in. Select the Engine Room to obtain a few supplies. Head to the main section of the room and open the chests by pressing X. They contain: Ether, Remedy (x3), Phoenix Down (x4), and Potion (x4). Take the elevator to the cabin to complete a bit more. Continue climbing and head down to the save sphere. Save your progress. Continue up to the machina and the elevator. Press the machina to activate the elevator. The girls will all ride down. Head left and up the ledge to claim an ELIXIR in a chest! Then head back to the elevator and up some more ledges. This will lead you to a high road. Leblanc, Logos, and Ormi meet you once again. You have to beat the trio to the top before they can get up there. You will not lose time when you are in battles, but it will go down when you are out of battles. You can easily take them out using magic, but and attack will pretty much kill this fiend. Just attack them! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, now head into the temple. Pass the jumps (as you can see, this is close to a tutorial) to the otherside. You can drop below on the first pit to claim a WHITE RING! Head throgh the tunnels and battle the same fiends I mentioned at the top. They are all possible at any time. Once you get out, Ormi will order some goons and recoils. Refer above to see how to beat them. Then, head across the bridge. Midway, press circle to jump to the platform. Head right all the way to the end to get a STAR PENDANT! Then head back. Right after the place in which you jumped up here, jump to a ledge to the right. Climb up and see those dumb sphere hunters hanging on for their life. Use the save sphere here, and claim the MUSCLE BELT, a good accessory for Paine. Head forward and get ready for a Boss battle to get your sphere! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boris | 480HP | 0MP | 1AP | 26EXP | 300 Gil Drop | 700 Gil Steal | Ch. 1 3 5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Immunities| ---------- Fire: Weak Ice: None Water: Weak Thunder: None Gravity: None Holy: None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to Defeat: Make one character a Songstress, and the other two attackers. Use Darkness everytime Boris is releaved from it. This will cause him to miss more often than usual. Then, use chain attacks with a warrior and preferably a gunner. Boris can take off close to 50HP at times, so you might want to use potions. Simply click items and select potion to restore 200HP to one character. Eventually Boris will die, and the sphere is yours! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ==========================*O Mission Complete O*=============================== You will be taken back to the airship. Brother will have jumped ship and needs comfort, so choose that option when it asks you. Then speak to Shinra to view the newly obtained sphere. You will get the BLACK MAGE DRESSPHERE! Now you can cast spells on fiends. Then you will get two new HOTSPOTS, which are key places that can advance you in the story. Try to visit other places in between in order to gain 100% in the game. She asks you to stay the night, so do so. Once you wake up head outside and meet up with Lulu.
