You can unlock the widebody kits on the last level (it's level 5 I think).....but to do that, you have to win 11 (I think) outrun races (get behind a another tuner and press up) and then you get a call from rachel. Go the the marker on the map. You now have to race to a certain shop within the time limit, IF you win, you get the widebody kits. But you can only choose ONE widebody kit. And make sure you're driving the car that you want to have the widebody kit. And make sure that it is a fast car or you won't win and won't have any widebody kits. Believe me. I've beaten the game 100%.
NOTE: you only get ONE widebody kit in story mode, but when you get it in story mode, it is available to put on any car at the main menu.

Level 5 of the cirty doing out run races I think you have to win 11 races to unlock them.
