I don't think their is any shortcuts I beat that mission with out a shortcut but it took like 10 times before I beat it.

I didn't use any short cuts and I did it in 2 tries so just keep trying.

There arn't any short cuts but it makes it easier to fly on the ground and it doesn't matter if you hit the kg guards just keep going if you do, and make sure you dont fall down the water ways in the city.
