The Elephant Rifle is located on the ...Till Death Do Us Part mission - you'll need to grab a guard uniform to be able to search the house for it. For completions' sake it's okay – in all actuality it’s a very bad sniper rifle. I assume you're talking about the 'Death of a Showman' mission where you can't get the Dragunov SRD. You can't keep any weapon from that mission - no, really. If you want the Dragunov SRD you'll need to retrieve it from the 'Dance with the Devil' mission. Self-promotion? Yes - check the walkthrough section for stuff like that.

To keep the dragunov put it in the crate where you got the RU-AP mine (marked ICA on the map)

The elephant rifle is on the death do us apart mission and I don't think you can get anything from the death of a showman mission.
