I used the buffalo thats beside Catalina's house and I won the race. So just use a muscle car like the phoenix or the buffalo which is easier to obtain.

If you put in the slow gameplay code it's easier it's
(triangle,up,right,down,square,R2,R1)
You can do this mission with any car I think I get
Dumb cars so at the end I don't loose any good cars

You can use any vehicle to beat him. My best advice is to pick a ranger because he is really good in racer like that.

I found it best to use a Sabre, when I tried using the Infernus, I narrowly lost due to bad handling and my driving skill is +100%. I think Sabre is best as it is sort of an offroad Vehicle. HTH>
