I didn't know to click "to defeat the most powerful of enemies" and so clicked "to train as a summoner". I have already saved past that and was wondering if there was any way to get Yojimbo to reask his quetion so I wouldn't have to pay 300000 gil to get him.

You cannot have him ask again, but you can still reduce his offer by quite a bit by always offering half of what he wants plus one gil. Of course, this won't ALWAYS work, but it sure helps.
