How do I get pass the 8th floor of the divine beast cave

Level 8 you are challenged to a duel which you cant win. He leaves or gives you some sort of potion which is not actually for you.
Go back to the village and make sure you are building the village as you go. (this is true for every place you go!!) I think you will find a cat in your house or in a barn. You will need to set the pieces you have for your village and take a look around. That potion is for that cat. It will change the cat into your 1st additional team member.
Each team member has a special ability, hers is to jump, something that your main character cannot do. Go back to level 8, change characters so she is your lead member and jump the chasm!
Off you go to level 9!!
Just Simply Add "Cat" To "My House", Go Inside The House, And Press Square Next To The Cat After You Name It. Now Choose The Changing Potion Seda Gave You. The Cat Will The Turn Into Your Slingshot-Wielding, Chasm-Jumping Kitty Friend.

You have to mind connect your way out of the dungeon, use the changing potion on the cat once your outaide, and go back into the dungeon while your playing as the cat lady to get across the river
