I know this question has been asked many times but I can't quite unerstand what everyone means. Can someone give me an extremely detailed explanation to where I find that ring?

The missing ring? It's in one of the clumps of mud you pull up in the Large Mine Underground. If I remember correctly it's the one that's closest to the entrance to the Coal Mining Town.
