I don't know your definition of not having to do much, but you can train the stats. HP or MP.

Try to get them in about 1,000 points of each other, I like it better when they are about 500 from each other though.

DaGameMaster answered:

Well, all you have to do is train evenly.
eg: When your partner is in rookie, raise it's HP and MP up to 1500...

The rest put up to 150. To avoid getting a Numemon. Then when your rookie is evolving, rapidly press x.

I am very sure this works because I got a Greymon by doing this. Even when my stats were not right.
Then when you have a champion. Raise HP and MP up to 3000.

The rest can be 300-400. This is a good way to raise strong digimon. If it evolves again into ultimate.

Then raise HP and MP up to 5000-6000. The rest can be 550.

This is the ultimate guide to raise strong digimon without doing that much.

Also use Stat chips to raise your stats higher.
eg: Hp chip Mp Chip, Spd chip.

Italian Stallion answered:

Unless you want a pathetic digimon like Numemon or Sukemon you need to train.

If you are a rookie I would recommend you have these stats:

HP: 2000-3000
MP:2000-3000
OFF:100-150
DEF:100-150
SPD:100-150
BRN:100-150

It might take a while but it's worth it i got a very powerful Greymon that turned into a Metalgreymon. I did the same thing and then got a Skullgreymon.

If you have a training manual (50,000 bits) and have Kabutarimon and Kuagamon in your city you won't have that much trouble.

All of you dudes might not believe this but here I go:
When I began the game I had an Agumon then it digivolve into a Greymon then into a Metal Greymon with just noob stats.I will tell you how I got him but it happened from about a year as I finished the game about 2 times anyway if you want a strong digimon first expand his age and to do that you need to train him well and cure his tiredness at the right time and also get much food for your digimon to eat and poop at any toilet and not on the ground to avoid the Sukamon digivolution. Then firstly to get a good champion choose any egg then train all the stats while in a rookie digimon to 100-150s or 1000-1500s and by this you get a good champion.THIS MAY NOT SUCCEED IN MOST OF THE TIMES but you have to train your stats to 250-300s or 2500-3500s if you are a beginner but having a Kabuterimon and Kuwagamon in the city would help you and also Piximon and getting SuperCarrots and Hawk Radishes from Vegiemon and by this you will have a super digimon.
