How do you lower your virus meter? Or how do you keep from getting nunemon when it's high?

In my experience you only become numemon when no stat requirements are met when in rookie form. After a certain number of days, he'll automatically turn into numemon. Sukamon only comes with 16 poops in the field and nanimon only appears when you scold your digimon when he/she has no happiness or discipline. Basically as long as you fill some stat requirements and weight requirements... You'll get something other than the virus guys.

1. Your rookie digimon will only digivolve to Numemon if no conditions have been met (I.e. Stats, weight, care mistakes, etc). But you have 5 days to do so because on the sixth you have you rookie, then it will definitely digivolve to Numemon.

2. Only way to lower your virus meter is to poop on the floor 16 times and get a Sukamon. I know this sounds bad but here's a strategy, make your virus meter near full (14 or 15 poops on the floor), then once you get a baby or in - training digimon, make them poop on the floor and get Sukamon. Now if you have been to Trash Mountain (located in Gear Savanna) then go to King Sukamon and ask him to change your Sukamon back to it's previous digimon.

Once done, you get your digimon back, no Sukamon and an empty virus meter.

YOU HAVE TO HAVE BEEN TO TRASH MOUNTAIN BEFORE DOING THIS! (Also have a Auto Pilot so you don't have to run all the back way).
