Yes you may get sharks, but I do not know of you can get dogs or stuff like that. Here is one EXHIBIT I know:
Cretaceous Corral: Type this in as an EXHIBIT name to get the Triceritops.

You can't have normal animals like dogs or cats, and to get sharks, you have to get an upgrade: MarineManie or CompleteCollection (I recommend CompleteCollection)
Here are 2 that work for the original (Make sure you don't name to exibit first off, the game will crash):
Xanadu: Unicorns
Cretaceous Corral: Triceratops
