The only way to get an item back from the dead is to go to the place that you died and click on your tombstone. If your tombstone is not there anymore then you lost everything that you lost. There is no other way to get it back other than to buy it again.

Now this is very expensive, but it works.
Kill a Iban Disciple or the men in the red, and kill them until they drop a broken staff, then take this to the dark mage in west Ardougne for 200,000gp. I know it's expensive but it works by getting one. I think it is also cheaper too.
