If it's anything like getting the skull scepter in the security place, it could just be random. So you never know when they will drop it.

It is a random drop, like almost everything, but they are, I'm afraid, a rather rare drop, wearing a ring of wealth will increase your chances, but otherwise, you just gotta kill away. I found, that I got the bronze defender after about 30 Cyclopes, but when I had an addy one, trying to get a Rune one, I would have no idea how many I killed, I would say a fair bit.
So, the higher the defender, the rarer the drop.
Ring of wealths do help alot.
Keep all defenders you get, as if you lose one, you have to start from the last one you had, if you just had the Rune one, you needa start from bronze again.
Getting in Obby Shield will be alot quicker.
And when you do get a drop, be sure to exit the arena, and show the lady, so she'll release the Cyclopes with Iron ones.

The drops all depend on your luck, I've read Deserts Answer and I'm the opposite, I can get addy/rune quickly but it takes me hours to get a bronze. The Best option is to get lots of tokens (w/e they are) and stay in there killing. Try and go for higher cyclops, and of course a ring of wealth.

KK... You have to fight CYCLOPS' (plural) and they drop the defenders, and you have to do it in the heroes guild which you have to have an attack and defence that add up to more than 130 (which I'm sure you know, but just in case other people don't) and you have to kill ALOT until you eventually get your bronze and it kinda gets easier from there, but I beleive you do have to continually leave and come back after you get each one, and you have to get them in order.
