You must find the books that match the clues that you are given. It's not very hard to do.
I'm sure you can find a Video of the Nacrene City Gym Here or on Youtube.

In the Nacrene city gym, you have to find the clues and match them to the correct books. The first person you battle gives you a clue which leads to other clues and finally on the last shelf will move and you can go underground to the gym leader Lenora.
