There isn't a second "Jim," I'm not sure there is a first, there is a Mike and a Claire though.
If you mean "gym" but cannnot spell, there is no way to skip any gyms. To beat the gyms is one of the main goals of every Pokemon game (along with beating the evil team [Rocket in HG and SS], beating the elite 4, and completing your pokedex).
